  1. Sharp...I like the AZ license plate..nice detail.
  2. Those chunky snow tire looking tires look like the ones that were in the 'Kandy Van' issue I built as a kid.
  3. Yeah, it was just reissued. It had been discontinued for a long time, seemed to be a hard to find kit for years.
  4. Beautiful build..love the color scheme. Great photography also.
  5. Hobby Link Japan...they were all preordered/backordered months ago, and they ended up one by one over time in my Private Warehouse until I had them shipped...
  6. I'm usually at home or work when they happen, but a few years ago one hit as I was heading home...I got off the freeway as I saw it coming and parked at a gas station for 1/2 hour till it cleared..they are pretty incredible to watch...the one in the summer of '11 had a 5000 ft high dust cloud, IIRC.
  7. Ack..always the same weekend as the Long Beach GP. Not 100% sure I'm going to that race this year, so I may be able to make the DSC.
  8. They reduce visibility, pollute the air, and get dust on everything...one of the negatives of living in a desert.. but they do make for dramatic photo ops..
  9. I got a big box from HLJ via Fed Ex a couple days ago...An eclectic group of vintage Nissans and Toyotas, a Honda, and some Italians. and some new wheel sets from Aoshima.
  10. LoL....we do get haboobs during monsoon season...giant evil dust storms...
  11. Nice clean build...I don't think I've ever seen one of those kits built...I have the Dragon M3.
  12. Speaking of the gas station thing, one of my local ones takes pay at the pump, but never prints receipts at the pump...they want you to go inside to get the receipt (and potentially buy other stuff, of course).
  13. Very sharp...love the period street machine look...I remember seeing cars like that as a kid, though they usually had some dents and rust being in Ohio or coastal S. Florida..
  14. 22k is a long time to go on a filter, I would think..I replace my air filters at every oil change (every 5000 miles).
  15. Beautiful build.
  16. Yes, that's just the way it is..whiners gonna whine, haters gonna hate. I don't understand why the hobby is a magnet for cheapskates..I don't see that in other pastimes/interests I'm involved in.
  17. I know, I know.. I mentioned that because a certain 'insider' was throwing that name around once in a thread like we were all supposed to know it..(it's just trivia that really means nothing)
  18. Looks like a Nissan is blocking your mailbox.
  19. I didn't have a hat on at lunch and my bald head got warm eating tacos outside. I did have my Ray-Bans, though.
  20. True enough...for the hobby to grow and thrive has to have a broad enough range of product that appeals to the young, adults, and the older core base. If a company focuses too much on one target demographic, they could alienate potential customers...consider Mobieus--I wonder how many builders under 60 they attract with their all-vintage current kit assortment. Though at 43, I don't consider myself one of the 'old timers' even though I've been in the hobby 38 years...
  21. 85 and sunny here today...whilst eating lunch outside at the mall w/ my coworkers we remarked on how strange and bizzare it is here, when a large part of the country is cold in snowy...of course, in a few months when it's 115 and sunny day after day, week after week....
  22. Though these are minimal detail snap kits, at least Revell is attempting to get younger modelers into the fold..I guess they realize they are going to run out of kit buyers if they continue to focus on the AARP crowd...
  23. AMT/Round2 has already done the Camaro ZL1 and a Challenger, not sure why Revell would do those. Now the '14 Z-28 would be interesting to see...
  24. Yeah, I have a couple of the Cudas, got one last year. I don't remember the Comet...the Comet I have is one of the last Johan-branded issues (the ones labeled as 'Pro Street')....
  25. So when did Seville or whatever was left of Johan go under? I wonder who was actually manufacturing them by then..
