  1. I do some off-roading occasionally...not much since it has almost 150k on it now...but when my Jeep was new, I took it on many back country trails in Colorado...
  2. Sweet... the broken windshield frames seem to be a common problem on '60s Johan convertibles...my '65,66,and 67 Fury convertibles were like that..I also have two '65 Fury hts with damaged roofs.
  3. Yes, definitely the best way... I have a scale at home to weigh things, print the postage, then drop off USPS packages off at the neighborhood UPS store (my mailman won't pick up packages left outside).
  4. I think regardless of how I would pronounce it, most people I know would just respond "What's a Willys'? " Kind of obscure today..
  5. Yeah, my first 6 years of winter driving were with an underpowered RWD car (w/ snow tires on all 4 wheels, Quikcrete mix bags in the trunk). I got around NE Ohio pretty well in it..after that, I've always had a 4x4 SUV and prefer the ground clearance and traction. Not an issue here in Phoenix, though.
  6. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=70519&hl=
  7. I got mine from Missing Link for the Plymouth dog dish hubcaps and Scenes Unlimited for the steel wheels (or use the wheels from the Revell '68 Charger kit).
  8. That turned out really sharp..like the color choices.
  9. Revell of Germany VW T1 van 'Jaegermeister'..
  10. Yes she is...I've seen her in person a couple of times. And now that her major sponsor (based here in AZ) is a client of my company, maybe I'll get to meet her and say hi..
  11. Got the AMT '60 Ranchero and '65 Galaxie in the mail today.
  12. They did...I got mine today, it still has the one piece taillights. I'm disappointed they didn't restore the original two piece taillights. But at least it's molded in white.
  13. Sharp build...looks very realistic..love the color choices. The 3rd and 4th photos really show where Greg's body is a huge improvement over the kit OOTB.
  14. They are all interesting, I really like that last one in the gray-blue...
  15. IIRC, the engine in the 1/25th kit is pretty bad--the kit was a 2n1 with T/A and R/T versions with the same block supposed to be a 340 and a 440..
  16. That's why I've kept my Grand Cherokee even though I'm in AZ, because most likely my next move in a year or two will be to a climate w/ harsher winters...
  17. I think I've actually seen the yellow one w/ no bumper and the blue one in Dave's first post in So Cal a few years ago...saw a bunch of woodies in San Clemente one Saturday when over there for a long weekend.
  18. That green on green car is gorgeous...is that a painted green roof--doesn't look like a vinyl top...
  19. On a typical contract gig before taxes I've normally taken home $10k-15k per month for 40 hrs a week, but my stuff is pretty specialized and requires a lot of computer skills.
  20. Looking sweet...I've got the '65,'66, and '67 Johan Fury ht & convertible kits, but no '68s other than the 4dr and a resin Sport Fury fastback.. love those Johan Mopars.
  21. I'd like to build something like that in 1/25th from the AMT '67 Shelby.
  22. I'm probably going to get 2-3..got ideas for that many. I have the Countdown Series issue but it's a glue bomb, and I have an old resin body but it's broken.
  23. Yes..the E-body was considerably wider than the A-body..almost as wide as the B-body, I think...
  24. Neat idea..like the flooring in the cargo area...speaking of Pacer sedan deliveries, wasn't the custom version of the AMT Pacer wagon a sedan delivery style thingy?
  25. I like going to my LHS...it's only about 10-15 min from my office, so it's easy to stop by after work. I frequently buy domestic kits and supplies from them, but the markup on imported kits is such that even w/ shipping buying from Japanese vendors is a substantially better deal. There are others in the area, incl. one close to home that I visit on occasion as well.
