2015 Mustang link
Rob Hall replied to 1930fordpickup's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Lots of Ford family resemblance in the various styling cues...headlights and front are strongly reminiscent of the Fusion, some Focus ST in the GT grille, the side ridges remind me of the Taurus...the rear is probably the most unique aspect. -
That Porsche 911 Cabrio looks sweet..didn't realize RoG did that generation (993, looks like?). I got a box from HLJ today...my Tamiya LaFerrari and some older Aoshima kits--'89 Nissan Laurel 4dr, '81 Cedric 4dr ht, '83 Skyline 2dr.

Heh-heh..I'll be ordering those exact parts this month...just picked up another yellow '80s issue MPC '71 Road Runner and some resin '70s 'Hurricane' wheels. Want to do a '72 street machine...
-
Googling 'Modelhaus Shasta' turns up a bunch of pics of builtups...looks pretty cool..
-
Looks like they are chromed and in the bag of parts in the 2nd photo.
-
I'm thinking of getting one...I'd have to rustle up a hitch for a car...thinking of getting a Modelhaus '57 Plymouth wagon or '59 Ford wagon to tow it..

Revell Germany VW Beetle 1500 (Limousine and Cabriolet)
Rob Hall replied to Luc Janssens's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Always wondered about that, it's for the Latin name of the country Confoederatio Helvetica (Swiss Confederation). I have the CH stamp on my passport from a trip a few years ago. -

Interesting that they have both modern and vintage number plates. -

Sharp build...the red w/ the white trim looks very realistic. -

80's Dodge truck kits?
Rob Hall replied to Furiousgeorge's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The last annual that MPC did was the '80, which is pretty much the same as the '79 kit. Quad rectangular lights, 4x4 stepside IIRC. -
That trailer looks really nice...so the body is one piece? I just got a Modelhaus order a couple days ago...the '67 Thunderbird Landau 4dr...a couple sets of redline tires, some white wall tires, and some hubcaps for other projects.

Looks very good in the pics on Jalopnik today...the silver GT. http://jalopnik.com/2015-ford-mustang-gt-this-is-it-1476600576 -
It is odd that they haven't shown anything but sketches since it is coming out this month..

Not much to show, assuming it's just a reissue w/ some new optional wheels and tires...

1/25 Revell '70 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda 2'n1
Rob Hall replied to MachinistMark's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Still waiting on my first 3..2 off of eBay from reputable vendors (GMS Customs and Model Car Mountain) and one from Model Roundup...hopefully within the week. -
The '72 Impala promos also tend to have warped roofs. I have a brown one w/ slight warp. My '72 Impala kit is in built but unpainted form, will probably take it apart and paint it eventually. The '72 is the only year of the MPC '71-76 Chevy B-bodies that I don't have at least 2 kits of. As far as the thread, working from home today and the mailman just came..got a Modelhaus '67 Thunderbird 4dr Landau, some Modelhaus dog dish hubcaps and redline tires, and some Scenes Unlimited Chevy and Mopar steel wheels (great stuff as usual from both vendors).

Yes, and if IIRC in the '80s cartoon Bumblebee was a VW Beetle... -
Maybe, in 20 years when I'm actually retired, I might join AARP...but it's kind of silly now..

I got my first AARP mail around age 36-37..I guess their marketing staff are clueless...

Hmm....so the LA Dart isn't the same body/etc as the Hemi Hunter...I have both, will have to compare them. The Hemi Hunter is missing the front bumper and the grille has no turn signals. IIRC, the Ramcharger has covers over the headlights.
-
That's the one I'm thinking of..I have a rough body of one in my stash. IIRC it has stock Dart emblems on the rear quarter and decklid. I have a resin '70 from some years ago, can't recall the caster. I might get one of the Bandit Resin ones, I have an extra '68 Dart and a '71 Duster (need it for the engine, seats, steering wheel, etc). I have BR's Valiant Scamp that I plan to build w/ a 6 cyl. Still has the wrong grille, though..the LA Dart is missing the turn signals, and it's missing the front bumper IIRC. For a chrome front bumper and grille I have the '71 Demon part from The Modelhaus.
