  1. Arriving during or before the month on the cover, I would think....car magazines, for instance, are usually at least 1 month ahead. It's bad form for a magazine to arrive late and would cause problems w/ retailers, I would assume. Seems like it's a publishing problem when they are chronically late.
  2. Mine too..have bought a few items from TH...good service and they seem to always have items that other Japanese shops have as 'out of stock'...
  3. Got mine today..#180, mint as usual.
  4. I do have all my music in MP3 format on my iPod and in iTunes and Google Play music (for streaming), but I still have about 500 CDs going back to the late 80s..I still like physical media for listening at home and in the cars. With regard to movies and TV shows, I do still buy BluRays occasionally, but over the last couple of years I've moved towards streaming more through Amazon Prime and Netflix.
  5. From what I've read, it's because the early builds were Impalas...someone thought the Impala logo looked like a donkey. What I've read is that technically the donk term only applied to '71-76 Impalas and Caprices, the '77-90 ones are called 'boxes' and the '91-96 are called 'bubbles'...there is/was a magazine called 'Donk, Box, and Bubble' about the culture...but the term has moved to wider use over the years to cover a wide range of high riding, big wheeled cars.
  6. And my BluRays.. I have actually done that before. Not recently, though..last time I reorganized my CDs I arranged them by genre (classic rock, prog rock, synth pop, alternative, etc). I have also organized the beers in the office refrigerator by type (pilsners, porters, stouts, ales, etc) and country of origin. My boss also likes to go in and arrange the bottles so the labels are all facing outward.
  7. Would this mess count as a 'rat rod'? It's sort of a rat donk...needs higher ride height to be a true donk, though...
  8. That's a really annoying basic grammar error so many people make..I even see it in the names of websites.
  9. Similar here..I had preordered the red one (Enkei) but it went to backorder on me a couple days ago..so I cancelled that one and bought the black one (Volk) today..seems only the wheels, decals, and body color differ.. might be time to clean out the PW, I have 6 kits and 2 wheel/tire sets in mine. Or I'll wait until the end of the month to see if more of my backorder or preorder items come in (I have 9 kits on back order, 5 on pre order and 4 sets of wheels on pre order)
  10. Those Monogram Corvettes and maybe the '91 Firebird (reissued in the last year or two) are about the most recent in 1/24th I can think of, later Revellogram kits usually all are 1/25th.
  11. Sharp build...all 3 of those look great.
  12. Yes, and in Europe there are two more--the in-between Transit Custom, and the baby Transit Courier, smaller than the Connect.
  13. No, but the word can be used as a noun. Model cars are too obscure of a subject for a general purpose dictionary, but the usage is not that different than 11a--basically the end result of a build process. Furniture makers probably refer to the end result of their effort in a generic way as a 'build', for example. Or in other professions/hobbies...
  14. Check the dictionary. 'build' has both verb and noun definitions. Pretty common, there are many words like that. 'Repop' is not a word.
  15. 'build' is a verb that has been nouned... As an aside, I definitely use it/see it used both ways in real life..i.e. 'run a build' or 'build the software', where build the verb refers to an automated process of packaging software, and build the noun refers to the artifact that is the result of the build process...i.e. a deployable executable version of the software to install on a server, for example. Not that different than the two uses in modeling, really.
  16. So many possibilities...even just sticking w/ stock versions--chrome side trim or not, fog lights or not, bumper choices, hood choices, stripe choices...wheel choices if you use some aftermarket parts, rear wing or not, etc..
  17. That I don't mind..it's a pretty standard term, seems to be used in the 1:1 resto world also.
  18. A minor nitpick--when people refer to a model as a 'repop'...no such word. It could be a reissue, or a reproduction though..
  19. Seems odd they would have had a tooling proof for '74, since the '74 changed very little from the '73..the tooling wouldn't have changed except for any parts that actually changed, I would think.
  20. Neat..don't see the Pro Street Lincoln kit built very often.
  21. The AMT '68 annual box art is some of my favorites...illustrations like fine art paintings. Another series from that era that I like are the MPC 1/32 sports cars--the Ferrari 250 LM and Porsche Carrera 6 have great illustrations and racing images on the sides.
  22. Sharp build..love the look of race cars of that era.
  23. Hmm...about 1500 unbuilt. Finished 0 in the last year. So my percentage is about 0. However, I have finished some in the past....so the lifetime percentage so far about 15%.
