  1. The kit on the box art reminds me of a donk as far as the ride height, but with small tires. I love the '70s MPC Impalas and Caprices...have all the '71-76 annuals and promos and several of the '76 reissues.
  2. As an aside for a different thread-- I don't recall if MCM or SA has ever done it, but it would be interesting to see a topic or article on what the 'best' kit 426 Hemi is (most accurate for a street Hemi)...so many have been kitted over the years in 1/25th and 1/24th scale.
  3. I have the original issue (molded in orange), still haven't built it..I recall it has the stock Rallys, can't recall what the optional wheels are with it. I wonder if those are also in this issue or gone.
  4. Got the new '56 Chrysler 300B kit from Model Roundup...looks great at first glance...they really pack them tight..it was difficult to open the box without damaging it..
  5. Got mine from GMS Customs yesterday also...postal box looked like it had been kicked around, kit box slightly crushed, but everything inside ok. My 3rd Cuda received in a week, from 3 different vendors.
  6. That can be a hard thing to do...sometimes independent shops are great, sometimes not so much....likewise for dealers. I guess a source like Angie's List or the BBB would be a good place to start looking for one. I'm lucky that I've got a great independent shop that I've used for my Jeep, a great independent Mercedes specialist, and the Cadillac dealer that seems quite competent...that they are all within a mile and half from home is a plus.
  7. Meh.
  8. Interesting the differences that result in tooling a subject 40+ years apart. I've got all the MPC '70-74 annuals and reissues and the Johan '71s but they are all in storage so I can't compare easily, likewise for the Monogram 1/24th '70 and '71s.
  9. Yep. Got to take it to someone who knows the product and knows what they are doing.
  10. I have the first gen Corvair kits on my grail list..the only Corvair models I have are 2nd gen ones---the AMT 65, '67, and a couple of the last reissue of the '69s. I do have a Modelhaus resin 4dr ht body and a TMR resin convertible body.
  11. How about flaut as in flautas? Tasty... I avoid IE like the plague...even on Windows, I prefer Chrome or Firefox.
  12. I haven't had a chance to compare it to my Johan '71s or MPC '70s, but it definitely looks better than the previous R-M 1/24th Cudas...it's got some issues, as have been discussed extensively in the Cuda thread. One thing that jumps out at me are the overly large fenderwell lip moldings..
  13. Got two more of the Revell Cudas in the last couple of days...one of them was in a postal box that looked like it had been kicked around...the box was partially mashed, but the looks fine inside. The chrome appears ok on all 3 of mine, and all 3 had the funny positioning of the decals.
  14. That's weird...I can't imagine anyone thinking that's a swear word...prudes.
  15. Cool..never seen a 4dr Corvair kit.
  16. Strange that they went with a high angle pic like that instead of one that would show off the new wheels.
  17. Cool..I like the mods.
  18. Sounds like you got a lemon..better unload it.
  19. She bought them both over 10 years ago... has a Caddy DTS now.
  20. Beautiful build of a subject I really like...love those '70s Porsche race cars.
  21. Beautiful build...I have that kit in my unbuilt inventory...
  22. Sharp builds..love the color on the 442...a green-gold or something?
  23. Looks like it's showing as 'Just Arrived' at MR today. I ordered one, I have the original annual, the 'Crusin USA' issue (built that as a kid in the early 80s as a street machine), and the '90s issue w/ the brown car on the box..will be nice to have another, always liked this kit.
  24. Got a few eBaY goodies in the mail yesterday--some resin Minilite and Hurricane wheels, an unbuilt '80s issue MPC '71 Road Runner, and my 2nd Revell '70 Hemi Cuda.
  25. Yeah...it's my sister's old money pit...I drove it for a couple years when I first moved out here...she has a clean '91 300CE also. The problem with those cars is repairs seemed to usually run $2500-4000. I've sworn off dealing with old cars, too many headaches.
