  1. Good point...I'm only interested in stock, so that isn't an issue for me. Hopefully some of the pics at the link in the first post help--I noticed some of their custom kits are shown like 40 Fords and 49 Fords..
  2. As far as their kits and conversions, over the last 10-15 years I'm bought a bunch of their '60s and '70s subjects (and the '90s ones like the Chevy and Buick wagons). I do think next I'm going to get a few of their '50s items--their '57 Mopars look great, as do their '50s Buicks, Cadillacs, Oldses and the Shasta trailer. They are always my first stop in looking for resto parts when I buy an old builtup kit...they always seem to have some parts I need for most old kits.
  3. I think it's on the schedule for Nov or Dec...
  4. Challenger wheelbase is 3 inches longer, IIRC...google it or check Wikipedia for confirmation. As far as the Barracuda/Cuda grilles, '70 has the turn signals in the upper grille area and '72-74 has them under the bumper, a detail that MPC forgot on their kits.. and '70 and '72-74 have 2 headlights, while the '71 has 4 headlights and the turn signals set into the pan. I have resin '70 conversion parts (grilles, taillight panel, etc) to use w/ the once-common '80s issue MPC '74s, but never got around to building them...also have the MPC '70-74 annuals, 6 of '80s issue '74s, the '74 'Pro Street' version, a couple of the '74 snap kits, the Monogram '70 & '71 kits, but am still looking forward to getting 2 or 3 of the new kit...
  5. Taillights and taillight panel, grille, front turn signals, engine choices--the big blocks being only available in '70-71. So MPC's '72-74 annual kits w/ Hemis were wrong..
  6. IIRC the RoG VW T1 van is due around Dec as well...
  7. Nope, this is a reissue of the AMT '76 Nova. Different kit than the MPC of that era.
  8. It is odd they haven't been reissued...would have thought vintage Corvettes would always sell, and the '59 had the optional big wheels that would fit in with Revell's more recent 'Motor City Muscle' or 'California Wheels' series...
  9. Some other Aoshima 86 kits have engines, don't they? As far as stock 86/BRZ kits, I have the Tamiya ones..not familiar w/ the Aoshima offerings.
  10. You get what you pay for....I've bought cheap resin kits from some vendors, and the quality difference compared to the Modelhaus and other tier-1 vendors is glaring... I love the subject matter and detailing of Modelhaus resin kits and parts--been buying from them for probably 20 years now...tons of parts for old kit restorations, and probably 50 or so resin kits.
  11. Hard to tell from a blurry picture of preproduction kits.
  12. ??? That's John Hodgeman from the Apple PC vs Mac ads, not Bill Gates. And the other picture is Harry Reid, who is a politician, not a boxer. John Hodgeman.
  13. I've seen at my LHS the tenative schedule through Nov, what's scheduled for December besides the Merc?
  14. I wonder if the Continental kit rear bumper is the only choice..I guess I can swap the rear bumper from the Bel Air sedan kit (I have an extra one of those to do a Nomad using a resin conversion).
  15. Exactly... It's as expensive as you make of it..
  16. Yes, I get tired of that also...one shouldn't be spending money of a hobby that can get expensive if they can't afford it. Likewise, if you are stuck on a dialup connection w/ your 486, well, that's your problem...
  17. There are differences..they are apparent when you compare them.
  18. It's pretty obvious the kits are of different tooling when you compare them.
  19. You are thinking of the '70s Ventura II and Ventura... The '61 B-body Ventura was basically an uplevel trim version of the Catalina. And yes, 8 lug wheels were used on them, the stock photo Moeibus used shows them.
  20. Yes, the '55 is the 'C-300', '56 is the 300B, '57 300C, '58 300D, etc... R
  21. It looks like a neat kit from what I've seen.. I think I'll get one with a Modelhaus '57 Plymouth wagon or '59 Ford wagon to tow it.
  22. Did they have anything new at the NNL? They usually seem to release a few new things at or around the time of the show. Edit: it looks like they do have one new item as of Oct 7th--'57 Lincoln Premiere ht.
  23. I think that is some sort of ram air hood that was used on the drag cars, and people have added them to street cars over the years....kind of the Mercury equivalent of the Mopar Super Stock hood scoops of that era, or the Ford teardrop scoop hood that was used on the Fairlane Thunderbolt drag cars. The poster Moeibus showed had a stock Cyclone hood.
