  1. Yeah, I went several times to the Toledo show between 1990 and 1996...the selection of aftermarket parts, kit parts, old kits, old diecast etc in the vendor area was incredible....
  2. Ah, good to know. I've never done business w/ them. I usually buy online from Model Roundup (Georgia) or Model Express (WA/BC) for domestic kits..
  3. I'd like to see a '38 Ford Deluxe...that front end is so cool... or a '37 Zephyr...
  4. I assume the capstan is largish because it is manual, not powered.
  5. Nice weathering...I like the mix of styles...got some Pro Street, got some NASCAR, got some barn find..
  6. Exactly...I have an MPC '68 Coronet hood that was mint, but now has tiny tooth marks in it from where the Yorkie carried it around for a while, and I find white hairs (from the Westie) on things all the time..
  7. Don't want the doggies chewing on model parts (which has happened before).
  8. I want to compartmentalize so I can close off the hobby room to keep the dogs out...and when I have guests over.
  9. I also am planning a man cave separate from a hobby room for my next house...a home theatre room w/ multiple TVs for watching several races simultaneously (I have a setup now w/ 60 inch and 32 inch HDTVs on one wall of my living room, but the room is too small to go larger), 7.1 surround sound, movie posters, racing posters, etc on the walls...
  10. I've got plans...but I need a basement first... in the past, I've used a spare bedroom...currently, I'm using a spare bedroom as my home office and hobby room, but it's a bit cramped.
  11. Wierd...is that a coastal/border area thing? I can't imagine why a boat would need a flag..
  12. Model As and 32s have been done over and over and over again.... de Agreed...Model As and 32s have been done over and over and over and over again. Time for some fresh tooling of more modern subjects.
  13. The green thingy looks like an outboard motor. The other pointy thing looks to be a windvane or compass of some sort (the thing on the flagstand)
  14. The MPC (later reissued as an AMT) '87-88 Mustang GT kits had this engine in 1:25th.
  15. MCW makes a '66 Belvedere 2dr sedan, but no Satellite.
  16. Very cool... I like the paint scheme and decals..neat to see my old employer's name on the rear quarters.
  17. Ah, yeah..my bad. Need to watch the movie again...been a few years.
  18. I wonder why they put the mirror way down on the door..the pic of the 1:1 Revell has been using has the mirror at the base of the a-pillar.
  19. They are the same thing....a ping on both urls turn up the same IP address, and the whois records show both domains owned by Hobbico, Inc. Looks like 'plastic-models.com' and Tower Hobbies are DBA names for Hobbico. Looking around on the site, it looks like they have 10 different domains incl. die-cast-models.com, but once you start clicking links, they all go to towerhobbies.com urls...
  20. was...the Blues Brothers car was a retired Joliet cruiser, IIRC.
  21. Sharp...I have that ML kit along w/ their other 4dr Fords...don't know what color I'll do it.
  22. Some sweet builds there...love the Pontiac and Buick convertibles.
  23. Working from home today and mail packages arrived..got a restorable mostly complete original AMT '65 Galaxie ht w/ the box.. Missing the engine. I have a few later issues, but didn't have an original issue.
