  1. Is it constructive criticism, whining, or whinging? All depends on the source and the context...
  2. Hmmm....I found the Revell multi piece body kits I built as a kid in the '80s rather challenging ('59 Skyliner, '60 Corvette), but they did turn out pretty well. The first model I ever built way back in 1978 was a Revell '56 Chevy 2dr sedan w/ opening doors, trunk, etc..it was challenging (but I was 8 at the time). For sheer lack of accuracy and badness though, it's hard to top the various Palmer kits I've inherited/etc over the years... I found a lot of the '80s MPC reissues to be not so great...poor fitting, molded in hideous colors (bright orange, bright yellow, black, bright blue) w/ dark window tint, poor chrome, flash, etc. Years later I've aquired the original issue versions of many of those, much better. I've also found the Trumpeter kits dissapointing for various body accuracy issues, at least when compared to vintage annuals of the same subject.
  3. I saw one on I-10 a few months ago...quite an interesting front end to see in yer rear view mirror..
  4. So is it the AMT version or the PL version to be reissued? I have the AMT version...never had the PL one. Wouldn't mind having another one, thought about kitbashing one w/ a Revell ht to do something custom..
  5. Kinda like in the movie 'The Road'...
  6. Nice...looking forward to that. I built an Imai Pantera kit about 25 years ago...it had the big flared fenders and wings. Nice to see a normal one kitted.
  7. Sweet...
  8. I bought the orange AMT Challenger promo from Chrysler's online store back in '08-09.
  9. A Ferrari engined Porsche. Wild idea!
  10. Picked up the Revell '10 Shelby GT500 (1:25th) and the Revell '40 Ford pickup reissue yesterday at the LHS.
  11. AMT also did a '64 Chevelle wagon and a '63 Chevy II Nova wagon.
  12. No...the police car was a '70 Galaxie 4dr sedan. The '70 LTD 4dr ht was issued as in the Motor City Stocker series in 1970.
  13. I've used the Revell 98- '02 Camaro and Trans Am as sources for those engines..easy to find.
  14. Wow..53 feet...I remember as a kid the standard size for trailers was 40 feet. Didn't realize they had become so long.
  15. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out..great idea. As a similar idea, I've thought a Magnum would look good with a Charger front end..thought about building something like that myself..
  16. I have to have a couple...build one stock and one period street machine probably. I like the '62 design, partially because the 1st Corvette model I ever built as a kid around 1979 was the AMT 'Countdown Series' '62.....
  17. oooh...that looks sweet. I find the looks of the '56 much nicer than '55 from behind...don't care for the tacked-on taillight treatment of the '55. Maybe Moeibus will do one if the '55 is successful.
  18. No! I want a '69-71 Monaco. Much better looking than the '73. And I also want a '74 Monaco. (maybe the resin community will do some of these eventually...I've heard there was a '74 Monaco resin but that it's very rough). At least there are diecast '74s in at least 4 different scales (but none yet in 1:24/1:25th that I know of).
  19. Maybe a resin caster will do one of these..this Commodore Brougham roofline is very cool IMO..
  20. I'm wondering how the stock or custom wheels and tires from the last '50 Ford truck reissue would look, even w/ the scale difference...
  21. JF is doing a phantom Hudson wagon also..saw it in another thread. Hopefully one of the resin casters will do a 4dr or the radical long roof 2dr Commodore Brougham bodystyle.
  22. I'd like to see a stock '50 Buick..that grille/bumper treatment is so wild. (though a custom-only '50 Buick kit could be a good companion piece for Revell's '48 Ford and '49 Mercury customs).
  23. I do have a couple of the GMC reissues, 2wd suspension, and a grille from an '81 Chevy kit...plan to make a long bed by cutting and pasting w/ two beds (unless I find a better resin long bed) to do a replica of a 2wd '81 Chevy longbed fleetside my Dad had back in the day...
  24. Because it's the racing version.
