Use your eyebrow or facial hair color? I've been shaving my head off and on for over 10 years now...my current passport pic is of me w/ my head shaved.

'69 Plymouth Barracuda notchback
Rob Hall replied to Marc @ MPC Motorsports's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That's going to be really sweet. Love the hood and color scheme. -
I like that color..I ordered one from Hobby Search over the weekend. Think I will do mine a dark green.

They always seem to be silver, black, or white around here... lots of SLs with IMHO tasteless giant chrome bling wheels...I like the styling of the '02-'08 version, but the front facelift this kit shows off is particularly effective. It probably helps that about a mile from me is a major M-B dealer, so I see plenty close to home as well as out in the burbs.

Sharp build. It's a sweet kit...I got mine last month, haven't started it. I see quite a few of these in 1:1 around, esp. in Paradise Valley and Scottsdale, in stock and blinged styles. Not sure how I want to do mine...thinking about a color scheme that is classy and subtle.

Got the Aoshima gold BBS wheels in the mail Friday, ordered the Tamiya Aston Martin DBS and 3 sets of Aoshima wheels on Friday...scored an AMT '60 Buick convertible box on eBay today, needed that for my restorable builtup kit that I got at a local model show last year.

About the '66 Shelby GT350 (I see it and the '69 Mustang are out now), I don't recall R-M previously doing a regular '66...I remember the original Monogram '65 white w/ blue stripes Shelby kit (built that one back in the day), the '66 GT350H thats been reissued several times (have a couple of those), and the GT350R race car (ditto). But I don't recall a regular '66 Shelby...

Sweet...I love those '80s Mercs...

It's the shaping of the headlight buckets and the top ends of the front fenders...in 1:1, they angle back from the grille towards the sides in the horizontal plane, but stay relatively flat relative to the hood in the vertical plane, but on this Revell body they angle back and slope downward...so when viewed head on, it looks odd.

Synergy Green, the Mountain Dew color? There is one at work in that color, along w/ a yellow w/ black stripes one and 2 black ones...

Probably the same as the Motor City Muscle version from a few years ago w/ new box art. That release had a set of aftermarket wheels and tires. I do wish they would tool up a new '10 Camaro SS rather than reissuing the same old, same old...I would think a new kit could sell quite well...they have done the Challenger and will be doing the '10 Mustang GT (though they should do the '11 instead).

Where are all the convertables?
Rob Hall replied to Darin Bastedo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Speaking of convertibles, I saw an absolutely incredible turquoise w/ turquoise '66 GTO convertible, top down in Encinitas, Ca last weekend..beautiful car...I'd love to replicate that in scale from the Revell '66 ht. -
Didn't get any models this weekend, but saw a lot of interesting old and new cars in So Cal this weekend, incl. an SLR on I-5 north of San Diego. Had a quiet weekend at the beach.

Darn...going to miss it...going to the beach. Maybe I can TiVo it or see some at my hotel.

Can you post pics of the parts that come w/ the kit from ML? I assume there are chromed bumpers, grille, taillights? Curious about the dash and interior..
-
Friday picked up my second Revell '62 Impala ht..LHS had put one back for me when their backorder came in.

Good choice. I've seen white/white vinyl top w/ red interior also that is quite nice. I remember a pale yellow one w/ black interior in the Florida Keys in the '80s, quite striking w/ no vinyl top and Magnum 500 wheels. Since childhood in the '70s I've always liked the '71/72 Fords, maybe it was from watching too many cop shows and movies w/ them, but I love the long, angular lines of these cars and the unique grill and taillight designs, esp. the '71.

Sharp build..I have to get one of these and the LTD 2dr...do the mirrors come with it or did you source those elsewhere?
-
Speaking of wheel choices, I'm thinking of a set'67 Chevy Rallys (either from the Revell Chevelle or the AMT '67 Impala), '65/66 Chevelle 5-spoke hubcaps, or Cragars for one or more of my builds. I had thought about vintage style TTs (from the Revell '32 Ford) but I have a set of those earmarked for a '65 Impala SS build.
-
Cool..love the color.
-
Thanks for posting the in-progress pics...I love these vintage F1 cars.

Mailman dropped off the Revell '62 Impala ht kit I'd preordered from my favorite OLD. Pretty sweet kit at first glance..probably will get 2-3 more.

The '67 Shelby kit is a GT350..has a 289. The '68 Shelby kit is a GT500--has a 428.

Looks very good. Surprising it is LHD.
