  1. I keep all my boxes....have to have a place to store the built models. Got to keep all the boxes and instructions. But I do throw out the empty sprues.
  2. I'll probably get one of each, definitely not my usual kit genre, though I have been getting into vintage racing car kits (mostly F1 and Indy Car), still these would be something completely different for me...and what about the Kurtis Kraft Indy Car kit that is out now? Is that an old Monogram tool? Not familiar with it.
  3. That's pretty sweet...I'd like to find one of the Maverick kits, have a couple of the later issue Comets.
  4. 2 boxes came today from my favorite online vendors containing 3 Revell Hemi Darts, a Revell '08 Challenger SRT8, and some Competition Resins Mopar hood scoops. For the Challenger (my 5th so far), I plan to do it as a Hurst replica using the Mike's parts. For the Darts, I want to do a drag car similar to the box art, a 383 or 340 GTS using the steelies and DDs from the '68 Charger, and a Hemi street machine like the Mr. Norms car from 2007. I have a resin '68 Hemi Dart conversion kit from AF/X that I plan to build as a gray/black primer race car.
  5. Yea, the 49 Merc would look good as a wheel-less flying car..so would the Nash or Hudson from around '50 when they had the really low wheelwell openings...
  6. I got to see a few cars from this era of F1 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Ca a couple weeks ago..they went out for a vintage race the morning of the Indy Car race. They are pretty incredible to see up close in person, and the sound when they fire up...incredible. Took a few pics w/ my cell phone, incl. Lotus 77 Ferrari Wolf
  7. Sharp build...I love the cars of that era.
  8. Cool idea! Love that movie.
  9. Didn't get anything today, but saw the Revell Hemi Dart in one of my LHSes. I have 3 that I'd preordered from OLDs that I should get week.
  10. About the only time I ever see muscle cars IRL is at car shows. In the daily 50 mile round trip freeway grind I see many Priuses and a lot of FWD generics--Corollas, Camrys, Civics, Versas, Accords, Altimas... the occasional Cobalt, Malibu, lots of SUVs and trucks. I don't like small FWD cars IRL, but in scale, they add flavor. I'll probably get the Prius kit, it would be fun to have...I like having a diverse collection of kits.
  11. Like I said, I wasn't singleing any particular ebay seller out. But regarding your auctions text, you may want to consider using one font, one font size, and one color. Having 20 different colors, fonts, and sizes makes your auction text very difficult to read.
  12. Wasn't his name on some AMT kits of the mid to late '60s in regard to the custom parts? Or maybe I'm thinking of Larry Bradley.
  13. Looking great...love that color...that color has a Hot Wheels Spectraflame vibe to it....all it needs are redline tires and a rake to the stance to remind me of a vintage HW Camaro.
  14. Sweet...I like those old Jeeps. I looked at buying a '91 Grand Wagoneer back in '99..(had an '88 Bronco II then)..looked at 4Runners, mid '90s full size Broncos, and Land Rover Defenders...ended up buying an '00 Grand Cherokee which I still have as my daily driver.
  15. Speaking of buying resin on ebay, one thing I've noticed is the best sellers of resin products on ebay have the products that are in the photos ready to ship. I bid on something or buy it now, win, pay, and get the item within a week. Not to point fingers at any particular resin caster, but one should not post items for sale on ebay if they are not ready to ship. Waiting weeks to get an ebay item is wrong, IMO.
  16. Beautiful build. I'd love to see that kit reissued. I have an unbuilt AMT Lotus kit to build eventually, would like this one to go with it.
  17. A little white box of Modelhaus resto parts came today, w/ some parts for '60s-70s Johan kits.
  18. Those turned out nice..I've got ideas for at least 3 of the kits, incl. a stock GTS using the steelies and dog dish hubcaps from the '68 Charger.
  19. My LHS got all of these in today, I picked up a ZR-1...alas, I was too late to get one of the Darts. But I have 2 on preorder w/ my favorite online vendor.
  20. Got some Missing Link '69-74 Plymouth hubcaps from ebay yesterday and today picked up the new Revell Corvette ZR-1 at the LHS. Looks pretty sweet. Alas, the Hemi Darts were gone by the time I got there (this shop is in the RPP program).
  21. I see no pics. Maybe you can post them on your website.
  22. Yes, pretty straight forward to do from the Revell or AMT kits. I cut the roof off one of my Revell kits. Haven't started to craft a boot or rear interior trim panels yet, though.
  23. Cool idea...I love your plan for the engine.
  24. I think maybe one of those metal thumb caps sewers use could be useful when exactoing.
  25. I still have a faint scar on my right thumb from an exacto knife incident from 25 years ago when I was 15...I remember it bled and bled, I kept screaming for my Mom to call 911 and that I had cut my aorta. Well, not exactly..the bleeding eventually stopped..didn't need stitches.
