35 years of driving, had 9 vehicles, mostly bought new or 2-3 years old at the time. Never had anything too awful, but did have a few I kept too long, past the point where they became unreliable money pits..

1/8 Revell '79 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
Rob Hall replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Different companies, different business models. No reason to assume anything Round 2 does would be applicable to anything Revell does.- 129 replies

I've had the looping phenomenon happen before...between Cleveland (OH) and Akron, with detours to my post office (Independence) it went back and forth between Cleveland and Akron 4 times over a week, to my post office at Independence twice before finally being delivered... not sure how that happens, something wrong w/ the scan and how the package info was in their system.. because the address was correct on the label.

Sweet...I don't think I've ever seen one of these early Valiant kits in person.

It will probably something old targeting the 65+ crowd that is Round 2's core audience.

What did you see on the road today?
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yesterday I saw a solid looking black '75 Chevy Laguna coupe, and a shop that had maybe 1/2 dozen or more partially covered '58-59 Edsels out front in a small Ohio town.. -
$4.10/gal for regular in my Cleveland suburb. Filled up my Jeep this evening, it went to $74 and it shut off, didn't quite fill it up. Maybe a limit on my debit card or the station? I think this has happened before at the same station..

Yeah, that is crazy...w/ my current job, I got 15 days off incl. holidays (had to take holiday I wanted off as vacation days, which was weird) my first year (2021), my 2nd year it was reworked to 24 days + 12 fixed holidays because they realized that having some fixed holidays/closed business days made sense. I couldn't imagine less than 2 weeks.

Actually, yesterday...was at my office yesterday for only the 4th time (I've been a 100% remote employee for just over a year), for a meeting because my company was announcing getting acquired by a larger company, should be good....also had my annual review, and was pleasantly surprised to get a promotion and a 15% raise which I really wasn't expecting.

I’m used to 24 format at work when I’m combing through server logs or databases looking at timestamps. Still use AM/PM in real life, though..

What song(s) make you wish for an open road and no speed limit?
Rob Hall replied to Jantrix's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
A few soundtracks I enjoy while driving--the soundtrack to the movie 'Drive' (synth wave/electronica), 'Heat' (mid 90s w/ some Moby), and 'Strange Days' (mid 90s also). Listened to those 3 in the past on late night open road drives from Denver to Phoenix and Phoenix to San Diego at night across the voids... -
I have several from the last few reissues and one original issue..will pick up a couple more as parts kits for resin conversions.

It was Tom Geiger that said Round 2 said a stock ambulance was coming...page 2 of this thread, on Oct 5th 2021. -
What would YOU like to see as a model
Rob Hall replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Those wheels on the Rover were called 'Rostyle', very similar to the Magnum style in the US. The long-running Buick 5 spokes were called the Buick Road Wheels, I believe and differed from Magnums in that the spokes were concave rather than flat on their surfaces.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rostyle_wheel -

Yeah, there are extra parts that definitely point that way. -
The Push for Permanent "Daylight Saving" Time
Rob Hall replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Yesterday afternoon and evening I drove 90 miles from home down I-77 through Akron and Canton, Ohio to my farm and back, and saw the aftermath of not one, but 4 chain-reaction style crashes..in the last month of making that drive (albeit usually on Saturdays and Sundays), I had seen no accidents.. -
The Push for Permanent "Daylight Saving" Time
Rob Hall replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I am fine with either standard time or DST year round. Every year when I change the clocks forward or backward an hour it messes up my sleep pattern for a week or so. Having one timezone year round was great when I lived in AZ, but it inevitably caused confusion at work as I was always working with teams in other time zones and we would be off by an hour at times. I like the idea of not getting dark as early in the evening in the winter. Back when I had a commute it got tiring in the winter leaving for work in the dark and getting home in the dark. Dark in the morning is a moot point since I work from home..I wake up around 7 and start work between 8 and 9 regardless of the time of year. I like having more daylight in the evening after work (after 4-5pm) for doing stuff at home outside, dining out, etc... -
Right, floorpans would be different with the different chassis design..(Chevy X-frame vs Pontiac perimeter frame)...maybe a narrower track also, if Chevy had a narrower track than Pontiac's 'wide track' (or was that just marketing hoo-ha?)

It's been discussed in various threads, incl. '2022 Round 2 Releases' thread. First mention seems to be on page 16.
