Where is Chad with R2 February news?
Rob Hall replied to Chris in Berwyn's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
My understanding from talking to the Round 2 rep at a show last year is there are Pro Stock versions of the Demon and Duster coming. -
Different box, usually expanded decal sheet..

I buy plenty of 'foreign' kits. This forum isn't really representative of the modeling community as a whole, it skews towards a niche of older American kit builders. -

Harts Parts makes the base style 70 grille. I have seen pictures of '70 Duster 340s with the base (Valiant-style) grille and the grille like the AMT '71 340 kit also. -
Southern Motorsports Hobbies is where I got mine. I have one on preorder from Wes' Model Car Corner also.

Great times for the hobby...lots of new tools and reissues from the traditional kit makers and a vast amount of subjects available in the aftermarket.... -

Round 2 has a very specific nostalgia market niche they cater to. Their approach works for them. Different companies have different market niches and strategies. -

Isn't that pretty much the same as the AMT '71 Duster 340? -

The January video was posted to YouTube on Jan 6th. This is only the 4th, and the 1st and 2nd were on the weekend. It will probably be up this week. For Feb the only kit release I know of is the Mustang II reissue. -
What Did You See In Your Yard Today?

Some of the neighbors walking dogs occasionally leave their full poo bags on my tree lawn, either intentionally or unintentionally dropped there. The only dog poo I’ve stepped in, though, is my own dogs. At least their product is small. -
That the wheels can be rotated is an important clue.

Ok, so it's something from Season 5...which hasn't aired yet. Interesting.

I was thinking of Revell's S550 Mustangs..but those were super-simplified, sounds like the new one is going to be a step up. Same series the tractors and one or two of the VW vans were in, IIRC..
-
Hopefully they include mirrors.. Yeah, the front has always looked bad to me. Very toy-like.
-
Interesting that the have the '68 Corvette listed twice, once as 1/24th (incorrect). And they misspelled Satellite. The only release with optional wheels, etc IIRC was the F&F Dom's car..maybe that sans F&F branding?
-
Everything they listed there says ‘New’ as in they are new releases/reissues for this year (not new tools)
-
Hmmm...maybe some accessory that came with a Revell or Monogram kit long ago? Like other accessories that have found their way into newer kits..
-
Big tires probably and off-road suspension, like the old Monogram Blazer and Jimmy High Roller kits.
-
I think it did..I have one unbuilt somewhere and built the earlier regular one when it was first released in the 80s. They probably will just use the taillights and rear bumper from the Aerocoupe kit. Found a pic of the both, looks like the aero coupe has the revised taillights...the rear bumper should be smoother under the decklid, though...(like the white 1:1 below).
-
‘87 Monte Carlo SS also had a different rear bumper and taillights.

The Future of Revell...for 2024 at least.
Rob Hall replied to niteowl7710's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
That would be on Round 2 to do...(the fastback style was an MPC kit). -

The downsized LTDs were 209 inches with the bumpers. Though I'd love a kit of an '80s LTD/LTD Crown Victoria...would be fun to do a beater one as a replica of the car in the 'Sabotage' Beastie Boys video.

IIRC, Revell had an issue of the Fujimi kit in the 80s.
