  1. Glad to see the Toyotas are out. Maybe I can do a Bubba Wallace car in the future.
  2. I had a real one, a 76 with the 304 V8. Really loved that car.
  3. You never see these on American roads. A Russian Lada Niva. I have to assume it was purchased in Canada.
  4. Thanks very much. I thought the air cleaner decals looked like Chevy pieces. AMC engines are unique to themselves but if you want cubic inch emblems, then that's what you have to do.
  5. Love your build. I had a head scratcher moment when I saw you painted the engine red. I know the kit box depicts a red engine but I had always thought these engines were painted a teal metallic color. So I did some digging on the internet and found that most 327 engines were painted red whereas the 287s were teal. I owned a 66 AMC wagon with the 287. I want to ask where the engine decals came from that you used. I know the kit doesn't provide them.
  6. Did Round2 lose the Bond license? Also is Revell thinking of doing the notchback body?
  7. It was pretty much a plebian car, but it could be something good. SC360 version for one and the Hornet X V8 hatchback for another. I had the 304 and it was a handler and pretty damned quick. I autocrossed mine and beat others in my class. Mustangs with the 302 were hard to beat though. Similar styled front suspension but Ford got it right.
  8. Looks pretty good. Better than I expected seeing it had it's roots in a die cast model. Does have that rather blocky parts breakdown.
  9. I ordered one. The model got here in about a week.
  10. Revell marketed the Fujimi kit under it's own name also.
  11. Is this for real? Plus I saw the Mustang kit with Bond reference as well under Revell. I thought that was a Round2 kit.
  12. shouldn't be too difficult. Some sheet plastic, both clear and white should help you make the phone booth. Other "T" rod kits will get you the body and engine bits. As an aside, there was a Karl Kasper in the Milwaukee area who built hot rods and did custom upholstery and was involved with the hot rod/street rod/custom scene. Not the same guy but interesting. His son now is a top notch interior upholstery guy in the area.
  13. Thanks for the input. Looking forward to this truck kit. BTW, I love the 64 Olds that was produced. I'm hoping for a rehash of the 66 Skylark in stock form...please please pretty please Round2.
  14. Coquette, French word. Love it. I think it means "flirt"
  15. I'm no Vette expert but I have not seen many with a stinger hood, even big block powered cars. They are out there but most are custom fitted. I researched tons of pics online and even big block cars seem to have the hood one normally associates with the 350 engine. I do prefer the "big block" hood better though. Maybe someone with a bit more Vette knowledge can clarify.
  16. Grew up in Wisconsin. I moved to California and I went over the pass during winter at Truckee. The CHP stops everyone and makes them install chains. If you don't own chains, there are people on the side of the highway who will rent you chains and when you reach bottom, another guy removes your chains and returns your deposit minus rental fee. I pull up and get the spiel about putting on chains. I says NOPE! I'm from Wisconsin and I grew up in this stuff. I still had to install chains...but I sure went a lot quicker then most others.
  17. For a better chassis, and tires, get the Atlantis Trans Am kit. That one also has an engine too. 71 or 72 I think. That was also an old Monogram kit but without side pipes.
  18. Currently working on this kit. For as expensive as this was to manufacture, it has a lot of booboos in the kit. Headlight doors are the wrong shape and have to be redone. The top most louver is supposed to be attached to the hood but in the kit, it is not. I separated the top louver and glued it to the hood.Looks much better and it seems to center better. I have the second reissue. Working on researching other issues in the kit. I also have a chihuahua that has a taste for styrene so I have to scratch make a rear engine cover. That should be simple enough.
  19. Very nicely done. The engine in the kit, although based on the 1914 MB aircraft engine, is basically a phantom because of the scale of it. 1/24th scale would have that engine towering over the car. But it is a fictitious car living in the mind of Tom Daniel. My take would be to do the real version of the show car, which came after the kit BTW, and put in a Pontiac OHC six in the engine bay. That's a project I have in my mind for the future.
