  1. Cool, thanks for the info!
  2. I plan on purchasing three of this kit next week. One will be used to make a '77 Jimmy, a second will be used in conjunction with the bed from the third to make a long box '73 Chevy C20, and the third will be made into a flatbed plow truck.
  3. Got a nice large tackle box from Walmart to house my spare parts, modeling tools, and a plethora of springs.
  4. Just bought myself a nice variable speed Dremel from Home Depot. Oughta make thinks a lot easier for sanding and cutting!
  5. You are correct about the spare tire mounting, however they did offer a swing away carrier back in the day. Of course, I've only seen it in brochures and only on the stepside. Looking through the instructions though, kit looks plenty detailed and the plow looks like it should be good. Also looks like plenty of decals, which is one of the things I like that Revell is starting to do.
  6. Yup, it was most likely originally made as a RHD version, and they didn't bother making different holes for the LHD version.
  7. Here's a good site that has details on a lot of model off road tires. Yokohama Mud Digger Dimensions: Tire diameter: 35.5mm Wheel hole diameter: 16.5mm Tread Width: 12.5mm Section Width: 14.5mm
  8. I built up a Pete 359 to run in the daily driven class.
  9. Ok, yeah I did have a WIP thread, however did more building and less photography of the progress than I would have liked. Since I finished the build, I figured I would just delete the old thread and start over. Anyways, here is the kit that I started with. It's a 1992 Land Cruiser 80 that I did some ugly painting to, and that wasn't painted that great from the factory. And here's the color I decided to go for. I would say that I have achieved the result I wanted.
  10. I stand by my statement of more money than brains. That thing is horrid!
  11. Again with the misunderstandings. Nothing wrong with people saying that it looks ugly, and that it looks like someone with more money than taste stopped by Pep Boys for a shopping spree. I agree that people can be creative and have fun with making wacky cars, however it doesn't mean people can't criticize the styling. Yes people build models with wacky styling as well. However, they generally aren't spending tons of money on the wacky parts, and IMO they are usually better built than a 1:1 wacky car.
  12. Pssh, the Homer is the best vehicle ever...the horn only plays La Cucaracha and the kids won't bother you due to the separate bubble. However, it doesn't have rack and peanut steering.
  13. Sure the owner may be happy, but people have the right to say that it looks like a pile of poo.
  14. Can't believe that this is still being debated. I prefer the separation of cars and trucks, since I barely build cars and would rather just look at all trucks. Seems to be working out fine the way it is, and if there is a separate under glass added for trucks, then it would be perfect IMO. Edit: Even though Johnny was a bit direct, he is correct. You wouldn't put the Subaru Brat or Dodge Rampage with the trucks, even though they have a pickup bed.
  15. It's a joke based on the movie Speed, where the bad guy is a cop who got a gold watch for a retirement gift and used it in a bomb to blow up a bus.
  16. Quick question, do you have a grudge against Keanu Reeves and/or city buses that speed?
  17. I'll be gone all next week, so probably no updates from me for a few weeks. I will say that I have a delivery coming that will make this build just that much cooler...
  18. Here's the link, just click the button that says "add to chrome" and you should be set.
  19. It's free, just let me know which browser you have and I'll snag you the link.
  20. Since you mentioned the Shockwave Crashed message, I'm assuming you have Chrome (if you have Firefox, this will work as well). Get adblock plus for your browser. You can tell it to keep ads on certain sites (especially ones that use them for revenue), but it will help get rid of the stupid video ads that cause the problems.
  21. PB has an option to set a certain photo size for your uploads, and it will stay at the same size until you change it. Mine is set at 800x600, since that seems like a good size for forums. It's actually simple to do. 1) Click on the green "upload button" 2) Above where you choose the folder that the pics go to, click on "customize your upload options" 3) A box will pop up with a bunch of different sizes, choose the one that you want 4) Click "save" and upload your pictures.
  22. Yeah I figure as much, I guess it's just the way they modeled it that it looks like two tanks. All the pictures I find though have the shields and driveshaft in the way, so I wasn't positive though.
  23. Thanks Dave, I suppose they would have made it just a single tank for easier placement so I'm going to assume it is for my build.
  24. I would but I have plenty of pics, just need some clarification on a few things. Plus General gets more traffic.
  25. Yeah you can either use the USB cable and turn on the camera, which will open the folder that the pics are in, or you if you have a SD card reader on your laptop (you should, mine is 6 years old and has one) you can just pull out the SD card and put it in the reader, and it will be found under My Computer.
