    33 Ford Coupe

Thanks for the comments guys. It's airbrushed in nail polish, no idea of the colour, sorry Dave B
  2. A ZZ Top release I built a while back and fitted up with some early release bits from the parts box Tks for looking Dave B
  3. Tks for the comments guys, tyres are from the Ratrod kit, wheels the parts box but I'm pretty sure they are they same as those in the '58 T Bird bubble top release Dave B
  4. Built this one a while ago along the lines of Weston's roadster he displayed at the '56 Oaklands GNRS. Running modern chassis components though. Sorry about the background colour, must paint the board light grey. Thanks for looking Dave B
  5. Tks for the comments. The wheels are from the parts box, no idea of the source, sorry. As for the Arias I thought why not, I had 2 & still have 1 left, and it is a little different. Tks again Dave B
  6. I agree, great detail, nice job Dave B
  7. I built this quite a while ago but thought it may be worth while posting a couple of pics. Used a blown Arias out of the tractor puller kit (it had 3). Hope someone out there enjoys it!! Tks for looking Dave B
  8. Beautiful build, I have built a couple of 1/43 & can appreciate the work you have put into it. Would dearly love an affordable 1/24 model of one. Dave B

    AMT Ala Kart

Another one I original built as a young bloke. Long gone now but luckily AMT also re-released the Ala Kart as well. Along with the Silhouette I posted last week this is my only other 'show rod' model. Luckily I also have another Ala Kart as it wasn't until after this one was built did I realise the chassis is body colour and the steering wheel and interior panels are black!!!!! That was thanks to a great article in Rodders Journal so I'm now looking forward to building it again, but right this time. Box stock but with Cady decals. Thanks for looking. Dave B
  10. That is one nice loking Chevy, and I'm a Ford man!!! Dave B
  11. Tks Guys, glad you all liked it. Yes it did come with the Ford, the nail head came out of the spare parts box, home made manifold & aluminium tube for injectors. I built the original release when I was a kid but that's long gone. Didn't look as nice either!! Dave B
  12. Just a few pics of one of my favourite re-released AMT kits built in 2010. Since Photobucket removed third party hosting the pics had gone and I noticed a request September this year (2017) for the pics so here they are. Tks Dave B
  13. That's a nice trad '32. What is the screen from? Dave B
  14. That's a great job. Have you considered putting the 'master' into silicon and then doing a resin slush mould from it. You could re-use the master for your 'glass' Dave B

    Merit GP Cars

The Alfa 158 & Lago Talbot have both been re-released by SMER, both these have the engine detail. All the others were available in resin but can't remember who did them. These do not appear to be availble any longer & I seem to recall reading on a forum somewhere that the original manufacturer of the resins has since sold the moulds. Shall try to get some close up pics shortly, seem to lack clarity when I take them!!! Dave B
  16. Just a couple of pics of some restored Merit GP cars. Have utilised Herb Deeks wire wheels on the Alfa 158 & Lancia-Ferrari D50. Still have a Lago Talbot & 250F Maserati to restore, I have photo-etched wires for those also. Hope you enjoy. Dave B
  17. Tks guys, I did back cast it off a Lancer slot car body. I then changed the nose and rear to get the correct tuck under & lengthed it in front of the rear wheel arches to get the correct wheelbase. Then stuck it in silicon. Will post some more builds shortly. Dave B
  18. Thanks all for your thoughts. I'll try to answer the questions raised!! I did post it on another forum a couple of years back when first built. SMER re-issued the Merit Alfa & Lago Talbot (not quite as pretty for this type of build). Sorry no pics during the build. I found a set of old plans for a gas powered hydro so scaled them down & built the stringers, hull etc from styrene sheet & covered the deck after, bit of a cheat but it worked. I do plan to build a mate for it later, possibly Ferrari powered (250SWB/GTO motor), so will take some pics as a WIP. Tks Dave B
  19. Just something different I built a couple of years back. Based on a SMER Alfa 158 with scratch built hull using styrene & timber used by the boat builders Dave B
  20. Thanks for the comments. Sorry it is just a kerbside but does have rear suspension, transaxle etc. as all are visible as the rear clip is cut away between the wheels. It was powered by a 4.4L Repco V8 Dave B
  21. Just a couple of pics for those interested in CanAm sports cars. About 18 months ago I cast myself a Matich SR3 and have only just managed to finish it. All parts were either cast or vacformed by me. The real car was a winner down here but not that successful in the Can Am. I am now starting on a couple of Elfin 400 big banger type sports cars, favourites down under during the same period. Decals are from Jens Scale Racing. Dave B
