  1. For me it's gotta be oldies. 50's and 60's doo wop, beach boys and such. It just takes me back to what I listened to when I built models as a kid and it brings back those old feelings and enjoyment. Sure i'll occasionially throw in some other newer genre, but the oldies is where the heart is for me.
  2. I think you got most of mine. But for some reason when I click on any of the photobucket sites it just brings up really small thumbnails. I've tried clicking on them and everything I know of and it won't enlarge at all. But what I can see they are cool !!
  3. Great pics there Tom, Thanks !!
  4. Here's my pics. http://public.fotki.com/ferrarifreak/acme-southern-nats-2011/
  5. The planets aligned up for me today !! At the Southern Nats today I picked up a Profile 24 kit of the Gulf Aston Martin LMP1 !!! And then to make my day, got a S27 kit of the 2007 Corvette C6R for a DOOR PRIZE !!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it !!!
  6. Thanks for the link Paul. # 19,20,21 pics were mine. I'll post up my pics soon as I get them all loaded.
  7. Ken, i'm a distant member I guess you could say. I live in Tn. which makes it difficult to attend very often but i've been to several meetings over the last 8 or so years. I have been to lots of the shows and won there a couple times but health problems prevented me from being at the show for a couple years. I agree it's a must see show for anyone who loves the hobby and I am looking forward to making it once again !! And the members there are simply my best friends hands down !!
  8. Who is planning on attending the Southern Nats in Atl. this saturday ? I'm hoping to be able to make it this year. I'll be sharing my Aston Martin DBR9 that I FINALLY finished !!! Come and look me up and share what you've built !! Danny.
  9. Sorta related, just run across this. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2011/11/06/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1972-detomaso-pantera/
  10. " I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken " !!
  11. I started with them in "68 also when they first hit the shelves. My first one was a red Mustang and a green Camaro ! I played with those things forever. I have tubs of them put away now. I mostly only get the Ferrari's and supercars and gt cars now. Miss those redlines though. My childhood stuff got passed on down to cousins and such when I moved out !!
  12. I loved this little kit !! I had several and used to play with them in the floor all the time !! They were rather obscure and not a lot of them around anymore. I don't know what ever happened to all mine but I scored one off the evilbay a few years ago built up and now display it proudly !! I'd love to have another one unbuilt that I could build up myself for the memories !!
  13. Just ran into a snag on a Fujimi 458. There were 3 rear wheels and 1 front wheel in the kit still ON THE TREE !!! Anyone else have this problem ?? Does Fujimi still offer parts replacement ?? Thx.....
  14. I have never used Scalefinishes , I am sure they have a fine product. I have used MCW a lot though and am familiar with it. In the begining I had some issues with it laying down smooth. Yet after I worked with it for a while, I began to find the process that worked well for me. That was to add a small amount of slower evaporating thinner after my initial fog coat. Bottom line, experiment with which ever one you try and find what works for you.
  15. Awesome build Brendan !!! I have the Ferrari 550LM to build from them, when I get the nerve !! They're really cool kits !!
  16. I'm diggin this build man. I have a brother who was in Nam. and I must say he's still struggling. So I understand the respect part of this build. And I feel you have covered that very well !! Yet I respect that this is your build and have to build to your taste. So, in short, why can't it be both, with the amount of patriotism you already have on it with just a taste of the sponsorship side too. I feel it is being done very respectfully !! Lookin forward to the finished product.
  17. Thank you very much for sharing this. It will be very helpful to me when I start on all my funnies !!
  18. I would second what the first post said. I still have some PT kits left over bagged like that from leftover make-n-take kits from one of our club shows. I seem to remember some Porsche Boxster kits like that too.
  19. And we just THOUGHT the Tamiya kits were expensive !!!!!
  20. I for one always look forward to John's posts. I have tremendous respect for him and his tallents and enjoy his models and excellent photography. Keep on keepin on John, we're payin attention !!
  21. Plasticote is my primer of choice for ANY paint. I've never had a compatability problem with it of any kind. However, I can't find it anymore and had to switch to Tamiya, which can't be found once again. I'm lucky enough I had stocked up on Tamiya primer and have been using it all this time. Hopefully it'll be out again soon. My son tried Duplicolor with very bad results though. I haven't figured out yet what went wrong on that deal but i'm sorta afraid to try it myself now.
  22. I've been using one now a couple years and it's one of the best tricks I ever learned. Mine don't have a fan but i've never had a problem with it. I use clothes pins clipped onto the top tray to set the lid on where it's above the roof of the car and it keeps the temp just right and still dries the paint very good overnight.
  23. Awesome builds guys !! Thanks for the reply. I'll try it out then and will post pics if I ever get it done. I have the set for the 70-72 one. I want to build a replica of my 71 Rally Nova I had for 20+ years. I also have the decals for it. I need to get the copo kit to have the bench seat and correct hood though. I currently have the SS kit.
  24. Has anyone ever tried using the MCG p/e set made for the AMT Nova on the Revell Nova ?? They are both 1/25 scale. I have several for the Amt kit but would rather switch over and build the Revell kit with them. Thanks.
  25. I always get orders from him in 3-5 days if it's in stock. If it's not in stock he always lets me know and then ships as soon as he recieves it. He's a great guy and is always straight up with you.
