  1. The bit on Gearz can be seen on the Stacey David web page or at Revell page.
  2. Depending how bad the glue spot is you can sand it down and polish it back using 3-grit sanding sticks made for polishing clear plastic. A final coat of Future floor polish will bring it back fully. Try to use the finest grit you can to start removing the glue. Since the glass is already ruined you have nothing to lose trying to restore it.
  3. Well, East is the only one I can make, but everyone be sure your cameras are charged cause we'll be wanting to see it all here!
  4. This year I AM going to make MassCar. Made hotel reservations today and even my wife wants to go! So now I have to figure what I can do to make the van presentable for the Display Only table. Maybe time to get back to the decals for the back and do the BMF. Would be good if I can get it up on wheels but I'm still not sure which rims I'm going to end up using.
  5. It was great fun watching this get built and the end result does the 1:1 justice!
  6. So who's gonna do the first one in scale?
  7. only thing I can say is ????????????????????
  8. I have a question then .. and this is a good thread for it. Do the Alclad metals other than Chrome require the absolutely perfect black undercoat that Chrome does? Or can these be applied more like "regular" paints?
  9. but, it sure LOOKS good!
  10. .. Harry foams at the mouth! .. (it may soak that up also)
  11. I'm with Bob 100% .. hot water always works. It actually expands the lid .. at least metal/plastic and glass have different coefficients of expansion. It's the engineer in me! I also just recently got a Jar Opener from Micro-Mark. I've looked at it for years and now sorry I never got before. No more dented metal caps from pliers! This item REALLY works! You'd think it's over kill when you have dozens of various pliers around, but it treats your tops well.
  12. I mostly use Model Master Metalizer's for metallic finishes. Aluminum Plate and all the others. They go on light and smooth from the spray cans and some can be buffed for a shiner finish. Soon I'm going to have to try the various Alclad finishes for some variety.
  13. This is a nice section job as it looks just right. It doesn't have that 50's "way high" body side but still looks proportional. Very nice cut!
  14. It all looks great, but I am really impressed with those antennas! That's some thin sprue stretching ... nice job. Hopefully you're able to keep all humans away from them!
  15. BUTTON! .. now, why didn't I think to look there .. shirts beware!
  16. That puppy deserves to come out of the shadows! Looks like a nice job moving the engine and the finish is gorgeous.
  17. I wasn't going to post this photo, but I've gone this far, so no turning back on anything I try! It does have potential if I can get the decals printing this small. Just a thumbtack with a 1/4" punched disk with the edge turned while chucked in the Dremel. It needs to be done more even ... maybe with the Dremel taped down and something to rest the file against as I apply the file to the disk. I just used some colored pencils to draw on it and didn't worry too much how sloppy it was. Just for effect. Looking at the real one now, I had reduced the size but now I see it could be larger. Will have to find a larger tack or something else. Any comments, good OR bad, are welcome.
  18. Thanks, Jon. I'm too much an engineer to just start drilling holes!
  19. Oh cool, Terry. I moved here in '73 after college and stayed. But, I grew up in East Hartford! Came here mostly cause I refused to drive to work everyday in Hartford traffic. Here, it still takes only 10 minutes to work. Have lived in Lanesboro off Rt 8 most of the time ... 1 mile from Cheshire.
  20. The only trouble with old guys is they're so darn opinionated! .. just my opinion
  21. This will make one good looking engine compartment! I don't envy your plumbing job but am excited to see it!
  22. I guess that makes sense since they will mostly be chasing vehicle in the same class out there?
  23. I don't know squat about big trucks, but I know a great build when I see it ... this is one!
  24. Fantastic build!
