  1. I'm a little behind here seeing this build ... simply fantastic craftsmanship and attention to detail! I had to sigh a bit seeing the chassis painted. Don't know why I get like this when I see a brass frame covered up. Does this happen to builders after all that work?
  2. Woos on the dash is right on. The weathering is done well ... just daily use.
  3. I made a mold of the GMC off the front grill I want to use on back. Made a decal of the 1:1 also as backup.
  4. I think you have that Dialed in ... 555-sta-nced
  5. I use Microscale - Micro Liquidtape. It's water based and you apply to both parts and let the white turn clear. It sticks well and I've taken pieces apart many times and stick back together. The stickiness lasts a long time ... seemingly indefinite. It's about the middle of the page I linked to. That site wouldn't let me link to the single product page!
  6. OMG! I looked back and there's no real photo of the rear. So, here ... bah ... the doors are on the previous page .. better add them there.
  7. You should be easy to find then!
  8. I must have been in the shop ... can take months to have that car worked on!
  9. I do. Only problem, it comes with a thread that you can't get rid of!
  10. Thanks on hubcap compliments. The 1:1 van has hubcaps on front but both rear wheels are cap less. That's why I needed the 8 lug rims.
  11. This looks SO good!
  12. I'm trying to get something halfway presentable for the Display Only table at MassCar this weekend but still playing with options. Here's a trial hubcap made from an aluminum press together button that was filed thinner and a plastic disk and decals added. I just sprayed some aluminum paint on for uniform color. This may be close enough. I'm just not sure I want to cover up Ryan's gorgeous 8-lug wheels (not in the photo .. still waiting for them)! Maybe the story is that soon after the photos I have were taken some Massachusetts potholes popped the caps off.
  13. The new Berkshires contingent will be there this year. I've been wanting forever to make MassCar and things finally all came together this year ... even have a room so I'm there bright and early! Even my wife is coming to pass judgment! I'm not a contest person anymore but I will be bringing the GMC van I'm working on for the Primer Table ... I can't come empty handed.
  14. I somehow lost the updates to this thread. It's coming along very nicely I see! I saw your comment about super gluing the engine and needing to get it apart again. There are Debonders you can get that will soften the bond on super glue. Probably not cheap for you, but just so you know.
  15. Interior is looking good. Now I see the answer to my question about doors I asked in my van thread.. ehhe
  16. Is it the filed down sliding tracks that wants to ghost or are you filling the door lines? Edit: Oops.. I went to thread with your van and answered my own question. I had same troubles with the filled in sunroof. O got lazy and used one part body filler and paid the price. It took half a dozen putty coatings and some good coatings of sandable primer. I'm still worried the lines will show up at a later date.
  17. Nice doors, Stewart! and to all, some great building going on in here!
  18. Nice doors, Stewart! and to all, some great building going on in here!
  19. I use Krylon Crystal Clear acrylic clear on decals I make with my ink jet printer. I always do two light coats. I'm not sure how much it will toughen up existing decals but should add something. I'd expect the decal film Mark recommends will do you best.
  20. Brilliant! I've attempted this .. very poorly .. but your method look as simple as a six sided pie!
  21. Thanks for the encouraging comments, everyone. Stewart, I saw your van and it's looking interesting. You have non-sliding side doors too I see. Nice.
  22. I was at the 64 World's Fair .. and my mother made waffles long before that. But, I was drinking beer at the fair and I don't know if they were square or round.
  23. I thought the birdcage members looked fine at the start.. but I thought this was 1/25. WoW!
  24. You could remove the jeep and figure this one out.
  25. Nice tut and I'm sure people will be thinking beyond shift knobs with this. BTW, great job sanding a ball .. I know it's not easy.
