  1. wowzer .. that looks neat! .. one of a kind.
  2. Ah, Matt's Daddy has some cash I see.. got a "new" '65 Cheby he's cutting up! Or, judging by the trim, maybe it's just a recycled (is that a word... this is 1966 afterall!!) wreck from the yard. looking good Matt..
  3. Fantastic look to this.
  4. Like all Firebirds, this appears to be getting personal!
  5. My kind of build ... one you owned. That hood IS gorgeous .. great job! .. and I like those babys
  6. Whew ... I NEVER looked at MR SKWIRLS all nekkid 'n such, but that's a great looking can of paint!
  7. This should be interesting to see what Shummie can do without a decent car to drive.
  8. 2,173 cars. Probably 2 years of building! Oh wait... that was my dream... I haven't finished one this year yet... guess I'll pass.
  9. That defiantly says MOTOR! Has a savage look.. great stance ... I'm liking it!
  10. I DID get mine a few post ago, but was too busy reading to reply. And, as late as I might get it, it was in perfect condition. As far as content, I find every aspect of car modeling to be of interest, even thou I only do 1/25 -1/24. A diecast NASCAR you'll never see on my bench, but improving an existing kit works in ALL scales. Resin Talk is needed everywhere.. it's tough for these small casters to get their product out and even tougher finding all that is available! I'm also not a Funny Car builder, but saw some interesting curves and pieces in these bodies that could easily find their way into one of my 50's customs. 1/43 is just too small for my old eyes and fingers, but the vast subject matter in this scale is fascinating! Wayne Moyer's coverage of one of the hobby's first small casters showed what can be done with one man and a vision. The subject matter he covered in his kits would make an injection molder gush with pride. Right along on the same subject, Wayne's regular Collector's Showcase of "die-casts" are cars I would never purchase, but the variety of cars and variance in quality being produced is of great interest to this car guy. I love the short, but effective. write ups and the quantity of cars he covers every month. Trucker's Corner: I have never build a large truck.. pickups are the closest I've gotten. But, I'm working on a 60's dragster that needs a fuel tank.. looks pretty close to the ones hanging off Tim Ahlborn's trucks. One of the greatest kit reviewer's in print, Larry Greenberg .. enough said. And Brad Leisure's constant flow of ideas to "steal" .. whether on the kit featured or a part of another "masterpiece" are always welcomed. NNL East.. the first model event I've been to in many years and many masterpieces I got to see AND meet the makers. Fantastic! What I love is how Gregg manages to make the short blurbs on each one feel personal and NOT cut and paste! That leave's Dave Susan's Vette ... what more can be said about following one of the Masters of the Hobby through a build than just looking! Yeah, I love this magazine .. even though there was not one article on how to build the "cars I have owned" that I've been hooked on lately ... I have learned.
  11. In sad remembrance of all the donor kits in this, but it's looking good!
  12. Archer does rivets for armor modelers and might have something you can use
  13. Those are BIGG candles!! .. 1/16?
  14. Thats a really cool build. Love that engine!
  15. A steering is defiantly the way to go. Not long ago I got to thinking about getting a new wheel and also my cheapness and lazyness. eheh. The old wheel was a pain to move on and off the desk and was always in the way when stored to the side. I try most all of the driving games but I don't sit for days perfecting my shifts! I do it for total enjoyment, not to beat the game. So I got a joystick to try since it did work well in the old days. This time around was not as successful. It was just too sensitive and couldn't get it adjusted for a gradual turn of the wheels. So now it sits in the pile of old controllers. did come upon this reference to using a steering wheel with the game on a Mac: controller configuration The Logitech Momo wheel used in this configuration is another model I've heard good things about. This is a good indication that Logitech wheels will work.
  16. I would have to say EVERY model I have ever built has something I think isn't "perfect". This is one reason for all the kits on my workbench. Something always goes wrong so I usually put it aside and go to another new or, usually, one I put aside earlier and have the solution or just redo whatever it was that made me put it aside in the first place. Time usually works all the frustrations out and finds the solutions to boot! In the meantime, I have the time of my life cutting up some other chunk of plastic! One think I have learned.. do this for yourself and for your own enjoyment. I let some things just pass and that's the way they stay cause I still like it and will enjoy looking at it.
  17. No Gold BMF for the tooth? ... oops.. (changes font for concealment)
  18. That's cool that some games can be run straight on a Mac .. especially a driving one! A wheel defiantly is a major difference. The keyboard as a controller can work but you have to see-saw the keys .. on-off. There's no turning half way into a corner.. the wheels are either straight ahead or full turn which takes much of the finesse out. You have to tap the key like crazy on corners to get around smoothly. My old wheel is SO old it won't run in Windows, so I just make do with the keyboard! Not too much a problem for me as this is the way we did it under DOS! A Joystick can also go a long way since that has variable input from "on to off" like a wheel. That could be an option if you can't find a wheel that claims Mac compatibility. I wore out many joysticks on the Indy and GP circuits! ehhe
  19. Amazing paint, as usual! Not only the complexity, but you have a good design eye to put it all together. You really should consider a tutorial on your methods,
  20. I actually didn't know Mac users knew they make games you can run on computers! The Logitech g25 is the favorite wheel for the PC. I'm assuming you must be running in PC mode to play any games but don't know anything about how it responds to anything other than a 2 button mouse. You're probably going to have to contact the vender of the product you're interested in as iborg suggests.
  21. [This message is being typed in Comic Sans since SKWIRLY is no joke and can't read this] I received a a toothy email from a "MrSKW" after CB went silent for awhile and now I understand. It stated that I was to start a campaign here to force the Big Kahuna to create a forum called "SKWIRLY Under Glass" that would contain images of ONLY him! It stated specifically that HE was to be the only admin .. the word "harrypri" was NOT to be muttered in his presence. The email threatened to pump my basement workshop full of old Testor's tube glue if I didn't comply. What really worried me though, was the demand to coerce CB to build him some external out-riggers and a sail panel. To be safe, no one should repeat the GPS coordinates of Hawaii in any threads. (this message will self-destruct in 10 seconds)
  22. My comment on the wheels referred to the rims..they look off center or something.. but I think it's just the light/shadows ... Could be a real or model light causing this! eheh
  23. I agree a GTA build would be cool, but too many going on right now. GTA has so many cars that are the stuff most of us here are made of! 50's customs.. low-riders, just plain cars lovers playground. They all have fake names as GTA pays no license fees, but I know a chopped 50 Merc when I see one! The changes they make to the original cars would be a great modeling challenge and keep the interest up in this. They are still very recognizable, but slight changes and parts swapping going on. The car list for this should include all GTA titles, though. GTA San Andreas was my favorite car wise. This is a link with all the vehicles from that one. Vehicles_in_GTA_San_Andreas I put forth the following from GTA San Andreas for your salivating pleasure: If the above doesn't look like Under Glass on this board, I don't know what does!
  24. Whoo Hoo!!!! Grats on #100 Harry!! I love this little whodunnit. Is it me, or do those wheels look like they fell into a vat of plastic thinner? ...but, NOT saying how I voted!
  25. The world has just become a better place ....
