  1. Here's a link to a recent topic on spray can painting you might find useful.
  2. I read it too fast and was on my way to Beverly Hills, California .. Beverly Hills, FL??? ... any stars there?
  3. Oh my .. a 3 year old with a "doors cut body" ..!!!! I don't think I'd trust my son at 30 now with one! I sure looks good after the surgery. though!
  4. Welcome here Johnny! That's an ambitious and extremely interesting project. As George, our Main Welcome Mat, says.. just ask and you will receive. Your project is just too interesting for anyone to NOT butt in with suggestions. First order of business is to post you sketches. There's a link here with some image posting help if you need that. aha.. found the post I was thinking of. I should bookmark this.
  5. Nice Tom ... I especially like the sedan. Very good looking weathering on it.. and I like to open top too!!
  6. This image really did it for me... Defiantly has the Bussel and I like it. I can see the front will be coming up once on wheels, but that slope down from the rear I really love. I see that maybe a small tuck back up of the rear to level or even a "very slight" rise above the line from the bottom of running board could tidy it up. I really think no rear fender below that running board is a must. This is going to be one of those that you look and come back and look again.. "whats going on here???" .. looks like it should be stock, but..... ...the definition of a wining design, IMO
  7. Glad to have ya here. The "Led-man" is right .. just ask and you shall receive. There is a vast number of skills and tricks in this sport.. far too many to just start spouting. Most of what I learn here results from questions rising as I'm building and from just trying to keep up reading the vast amount of wisdom in all the daily posts here!!
  8. Wow . that has to be getting to be a job! The "Extra-Large Box" did give me a little chuckle. I'm sure about everyone here would be like a kid in a candy store sorting all that out. Glad to see your spirits are persevering.
  9. Dija Vue looking at that floor plan! How many old stations have I been in with that plan.. a classic! Looking great Ed... !!
  10. There's the ONE Vette I would build.. WHAT A BODY! ....Be watching ya throw this around.
  11. Don't be TOO hard on Old Dave, George .. he's pretty giddy with all the bodies he has nearing completion 'n don' knows whats hes a typing ... I think it's called NFFS .. Numb Fingers From Sanding
  12. That looks fantastic! nice job! I've always wanted to make a Street Anglia
  13. That's a beautiful red (takes note) ... and a MORE beautiful application of it!
  14. I'm not sure I will go.. you'll probably type my ear off.
  15. That stuff looks gorgeous, but all that detail INSIDE the engine .. insane! This I find silly and it hurts me building with hidden detail like this. Even the crude Competition Pack engines compared to a Pocher kit are heartbreaking to hide those cranks and cams. Fantastic job on the look of this so far, Harry ... 30 odd shades of metallics ... yes! .. )) .. you're teasing us.. MORE, MORE, MORE!!!!
  16. Looks just great, Bernard! It's a classic rod!
  17. Yeah, this sales rep was making lights and short times between stops! great build!
  18. Welcome back to "the show" and the forum! Those are some nice ones to start back on. I defiantly remember The Silhouette when it was new.
  19. Well, have a great Bday CB .. and keep "you-know-who" away from your cake! (you don't think there was any pink frosting involved in this celebration, does anyone?)
  20. It's tough to call what happened there without seeing it, but sometimes reinforcement is needed if a lot of putty is used. I've never used any mechanical means when sanding down body filler, so I can't address heat as a problem. If I have a large goop or area to rough down I'll use a large file before going to the sandpaper. It doesn't take much to get it smoothed so I've never even considered using anything on my Dremal to help. I'd also wonder if pressure on the joint may have been a factor. Usually the problems with using too much filler involve shrinkage and slow curing, but when built up in thin layers it can be made into a complete body if desired. Hope the S10 is recovering well.
  21. I am following this even though I do not expect to be using this paint anytime soon, if ever at all. Even so, this thread is immensely interesting. I was close to asking in another urethane thread why the heck anyone would go to all this trouble when lacquers do such a nice job, but you all have answered that here .. the depth and brilliance. One thing I don't understand is the 2-part nature. Is there a catalyst that has to be added when mixing? And if so, does it have a limited pot life? Maybe I'm just reading too much into this.
  22. That's a real looker with the detail painting you did!
  23. Great looking.. I like those greens together!
