  1. Just plain Classic. It's just great having you here, Tim
  2. wow! Great shots of it in that diorama!!! It looks fantastic ..
  3. fantastic looking weathering!
  4. I pulled my cardboard box full of Sharpies out. The only difference is in the tips... use big ones, Chisel Tip, for big jobs, finer tips for small job. I have a box full of different sizes and colors. The big fat red one in the pic is a Chisel Tip .. not readable. Also, I haven't tried that silver marker yet, so can't verify how good that brand is. I highly recommend just buying Sharpie BRAND markers. I've used the red and orange for coloring clear and chrome lights for years. Nothing else I've used colors the clear lenses with NO streaks so effortlessly.
  5. Welcome to the forum and ZOWIE on the van! Using Alias to model a vehicle in hard plastic is quite a feat and something I always imagined doing, but never had the means (I have used 3d Studio since the day it came out) The whole thing looks really good!

First, welcome to the forum. Second, those are some fine looking builds there! Third, wondering if you all like muscle cars??
  7. I've used Firefox since it was Mozilla and even before that. The recent 3.5 update may need some updating of plugins you could be using. That is usually done automatically, of course, but some may lag behind a few days after an update. I've had no problems whatsoever, but I do have 4gigs of ram and would expect no memory problems. I would check the Fixefox website for any problems with the update with certain configurations. I would NEVER go to IE anything!!!
  8. Defiantly a nice looking build and a stand out color! But, I think we need more photos to make a final decision on the color.
  9. I have our own Treehugger Dave's rattle can primer bookmarked.. so an easy answer for you! Besides, he's much too modest to post the link here himself. Seriously, that recent link to another post on this forum has probably all you could ask for about painting a car body with spray cans from some of the most talented people in the hobby. I may just go read it again and learn something new. And, welcome to the forum.
  10. Decals are perfect for the car! The placement MUST add 10 HP at the least! Looks VERY good I have to say!
  11. NOW we're getting to the HEART of this thread! Before AMT and my love of plastic on wheels I build ships and planes. I especially loved this yellow Christ Craft as it floated much better than the battleships. When set on fire and pushed out into the pond the black plastic smoke was as dense as the Yamato going down! Now, THAT'S scale modeling!!!!!!
  12. This old coot says thanks everyone. (did I really fill out my bday here??!!) And, Brian, unbelievable day here in the Berkshires!!! just like a July day!!! .. heading out for a beer dinner outside and may even stay warm ..woooo!! Hope yas got it nice at the other end of the state as we do.
  13. Very clean and love the stance and colors!
  14. Ahhh .. that answers my question too, Dave. Saw blades on the Dremel DO scare me .. in my hands! I just know I'd section my arm with one. Will have to check the fiber wheels .. they sound just right.
  15. hehehe .. I was about to make a red, white, and blue joke when you beat me to it, Bernard! I love the overall shape of the body and it all sounds cool.
  16. Awesome, Peter! The real one looks just fantastic! I had a 67 TR4A and I'm curious about one thing. That had dual SU's and, while they were pieces of art as far as carburetors go, they were the biggest pain-in-the-butt to keep synchronized. I would do it about once a month, but it really wanted it half that time. Are you expecting the same thing? I realize this won't be a daily driver like mine was, but just curious. I'm dying to see your touches on the kit...!!!
  17. Glad to see you're enjoying it and making some headway. I try keep an eye on everything you put up, but so far haven't bid on anything .. It's just that I'm so picky. ehhe It had been an amazing trip for me just seeing those old models appear again! And I think $.99 is an insane starting point on any kit ... you can't buy a new one for under $10 so you should not feel bad if you have to raise the start point.
  18. I'd be interested in any links to a Dremel circular saw blade also. I've been considering one for some time but never got around to it. Thought I remember seeing like a PE blade at one time that was very thin .... exactly what I'd like. I have a big "fat" standard blade I cut bodies with now, but that need to be retired. The basic idea with any Dremel tool is to keep the speed low so it doesn't melt anything. This is simple with the battery operated tools. The plug in ones just don't run slow enough to not melt plastic.
  19. Thats looking really good! The weathering is nice and subtle and very realistic.
  20. I fess up .. I voted twice .. it was really a tie! But, this was a fitting end for #100 ROM ... as close as it gets!!!!!!!
  21. I had to go back to page 1 to verify this isn't a 1/16 build! That front end is spectacular!
  22. Nice to see there's some old glue sniffers left in the area anyway. Everyone seems to be spread pretty far and wide.
  23. That's pretty amazing at this scale with an airbrush, no matter what your experience!
  24. That paint looks REALLY good! .. and so does the engine!
