  1. Love Rabbits ... my wife had a '77 and now I have a '16 GTI This is looking good
  2. I am a Structural Engineer and owned a 50 person consulting firm for 30 years. I consider myself a "practical engineer". The contractors all came to me with problems because I talked to everyone and choose the best idea or mixture thereof. The people most of you mention just have no Common Sense ... it has nothing to do with their profession or degree of education.
  3. Moved photos to Fotki
  4. Updated everything for Fotki
  5. How can someone sell decals with no photos of them?
  6. I agree. Anyone who doesn't appreciate the front engine Porsche's isn't a Porsche Purist. Porsche is about engineering and the front engine cars were exceptional engineering.
  7. The headlights always seemed confused weather to stay flat or tilt ... maybe the front bumper ends need to go up to follow the fender edge chrome and just tilt to match
  8. Same as everyone says .. beautiful build and great color!
  9. Updated all the links to Fotki Here's some photos I never uploaded with it's present condition. It is sitting on a shelf in front on me at the workbench, so you never know about when it goes Under Glass
  10. Found another pic and it's of the interior. I'll be needing to find a 911 Turbo steering wheel, I see. Porsche freely used the parts bin to find different parts for new models!
  11. a Wash is thinned paint that sits in the recesses causing shadows. I used India Ink in isopropyl alcohol for the wash.
  12. I thought about stripping the pins and polishing. Just the end will need the pen then. I'll be looking forward to seeing your antennas.
  13. I've continued working on antennas for a couple builds using all the good into in this thread. I used insect antennas because I liked the look and they have considerable flex compared to other metals. I did a three section antenna using the insect pin, inserted into two SS Hypodermic tubes as mentioned above in this thread. The tubes were 23 and 27 gauge. The thin black paint on the insect tube stripped off when inserting into the tube. A close fit but it looks so good. I have to redo the chrome pin finish on this. The base is a 1/16" aluminum tube finished as Bill Geary mentioned. I don't mind the size of the Insect Pin ball, but others said it was too big. So I cut one off and dipped the end in some Bondic. Bondic has a high viscosity and it formed a tiny ball very well. I did do two dips, after curing the first, and it could do with only one. I really like this finishing touch. The E guitar string is only .01" diameter and does look like the best to use if you have no Insect Pins, which are .009" diameter. You might have to use a 26, rather than 27 gauge tube to receive it.
  14. Beautiful job on that .. it sparkles!
  15. I got the wheels washed and decal added. Been perfecting my antenna construction. This uses an Insect Pin with two hypodermic tubes for the lower sections. They give a realistic, almost to scale, look. First is with no chrome, second chromed but needing a redo to smooth more. The third pic is with the insect pin cut off and a dip in Bondic for the ball ... this works great! Interior just needs a wash to bring out detail. I used a sample of wood on a self stick card ... I'm happy with the look.
  16. I have been "rushing" this to completion! Will have some photos soon. In the meantime, I found these photos and this resin '92 Crown Vic by Art Anderson deserves to be here ... wish I could have started with this beauty!
  17. That's an interesting take on the Coupe, my favorite '40. Very well done!
  18. ehhe .. I get what you're saying. Still, the pictures in your head are all the research you need. And, model weathering is just imagining a material that will replicate .. And, with this beautiful truck, trailer and roller, you can take a break! Hunting season is approaching ..
  19. sounds like my story, welcome to your new home.
  20. loving watching the flow of shading and color here!
  21. Definitely a "build" phase ... '56 Kombi I learned to drive on
  22. I apologise for how bad a photo this is, but I just came upon it showing the original Valiant I did in 1961 ... not that you can tell!
  23. Fixed for Fotki as I was installing the 'Photobucket fix" for Firefox.
