  1. I'm ready to finish off a years long build (like all my builds aren't years long!) and my color insensibility could use the keen eyes from here ... please! I can see it whent it's in front of me, but seeing it otherwise doesn't work for me ... I know my artistic limitations. The red paint is a given .. a Honda metallic that looks good on the car and in scale. I need a complimentary color, for the wheels especially and maybe the running boards or other touches. The photos show the wheels painted with a Gunmetal ... it doesn't PoP for me, so I'm looking for suggestions. I appreciate all suggestions!
  2. That's cool! You can't go wrong restoring an old modified ... that's how they looked!
  3. That color really makes it stand out and your attention to detail is spectacular!
  4. A real beauty ... I want to squirt some gas in that carb and start 'er up!
  5. Nothing's wasted on kids. 20 years from now he'll "click" and spend his retirement trying to recreate your dragster!
  6. I just saw your request in this ancient thread about working on a conversion to a '63. Do you still need help?
  7. It's good to see this sensitive restoration
  8. Really good looking
  9. Welcome to the Forum.
  10. Very cool being your 1:1 ... should be a fun build and will be watching. Very nice so far!

  13. Well done, a real looker!
  14. Looks very clean ... and quirky good!
  15. It's gonna be barren without you here, Rob, but your venture sounds like quite an adventure! Best of luck and look forward to seeing you back next year.
  16. That's a really nice job, especially at that scale. Smoother than any HO vehicle I've seen.!
  17. Simply, a magnificent build!
  18. I like it for sure!
  19. I say just call it Chopped and Sectioned, lowered all-around ... in Flat Black
  20. Dave doesn't come here anymore after some flamers and bad manners ... I personally don't know, but I believe he has many of his old builds.
  21. I've been looking at old model car magazines recently and came on this by our own Treehugger Dave in the 1962 AMT Model Car Handbook. For those who don't know how long Dave has been building amazing model cars ...
  22. I grew up in East Hartford, started building models at 8 and was 100% cars in 1958 at tender age of 12. I placed in a few model contests at the hobby shop in Manchester with my customs. Had more friends building there than now up in the Berkshires. We DO have a LHS here still! I do visit the huge Time Machine Hobbies in Manchester when down there.
  23. MGB was my second choice when I got a TR4A, but no different than Ford/Chevy ... I got to drive my bro-in-law's. Very nice job there!
