  1. Welcome to the forum, Nola. I'll be looking forward to seeing some of your builds.
  2. I'm watching ...
  3. I rarely finish anything but I do enjoy it when I do. At least two dozen On the Bench threads are here waiting for me to come back from my current love child. I never build anything Out of the Box, one reason being most of mine are of cars I've owned and I get too carried away on details. So, the research and finding a way to make some missing and noticeable part consume my model time. When the bodywork, drive train and interior are done in primer I'm ready for another one.
  4. It's been eight years now and I still drop by my old engineering company to see the "family". I was a partner in it since the 80's and we ran it as it had been since 1949, more a family than a hard core business. We never got rich, but never were hurting either in all that time. It was the uncaring clients that changed and drove me out, not the work. Still, I retired 100% and haven't designed a beam since! I enjoy the freedom from pressure and do only what I want every day ... even not doing that paint job down in the model shop if I don't feel like.
  5. way too much fun watching this and I like how it's headed!
  6. It has been decided ... go for the gold with the Subie! A diorama for it will be on next year's didn't finish list
  7. I'm going for it, but the diorama display will be after the New Year I expect Just everything resting on the chassis for a fit check. Many decals need reapplying, I'll never use this decal paper again.
  8. Today the winter tired GTI stayed home and the Audi took me to breakfast on the two rut state road!
  9. Maybe is a bad kit, but looks like fun to me!
  10. It's on the back burner, unfortunately, for a quick finish as there's two 944's, a TR4A, Kombi etc. etc. I should get this one done since I have the paint and wheels and no more bodywork so it would go quickly by my timeline. No guarantee, warranty or money-back policy.
  11. It's Sandmen and Elmer's down there
  12. All the effort is worth it .. looking spectacular!
  13. Not a real update, but I came on some photos of the 1:1 I didn't know I had. It had a gold stripe around the upper fender crease I didn't remember .. hmmm
  14. That's pretty cool. I always loved that car and very nice build. Is that really a Revell kit?
  15. Drop dead beautiful build! That black paint is to die for!
  16. YES!
  17. Sounds like you've got it. I always attach a pin to the mirror to go through a hole in the body. You can then put a dab of thick super glue or epoxy on the pin inside the body. No glue showing and the mirror is anchored against small bumps. I usually use a piece of wire for the pin.
  18. Just those colors put the fear in me and "only 10 over" on the speedo". That is a beautiful build!
  19. simple beautiful! your paintwork looks exceptional
  20. That IS one beautiful Merc!
  21. Paint is Subaru Willow Green Opal Mica matching my daughters Outback that she uses in her dog-care business. I did this as a Love Us and Leave Us Phantom.
  22. You are right. And, the Subie is the closest to the end .. I should get that one up on the shelf.
  23. hahahah .. same here! I did try to limit it to what might be possible ... and, there's no requirement to finish a Workbench post!
