Hi Fellow modelers,I would like to know what would be the closest match in Tamiya or Testor's Paints to match the colors of the car,This will be my first Pro stock Build in over 15 years,Any help would be great,I already have the Charger kit and the decals,I am stumped on the right shade of Blue and red! This is the only photo I could find,And to me the car looks Metallic Blue!
-
nice collection, I won 2 '73 chargers and one of them was a junker promo and a parts kit. The only thing I have left of them is a nice set of bumpers and the promo wheels. The rest of it was garbage.

It was,But they also ran an Impala,I have some photos in an old muscle car magazine from 1984 that shows the Impala and the Bel Air ,If I could scan the artical,I would share....

Nick sorry bro,But you do rush I tryed to explain to you HOW to do body work,On the hood of your 78 Formula you built,I Make some masters for one of are friends on here,And I know what it takes to make something look perfact!.......You seem like a good kid,You just need some guidence when it comes to doing things different........I'm not bashing you at all I'm here to help! One thing I will say guys,I'd rather see him making models then spending his day in front of the x-box playing video games!

Thank so much,Hopefully by the end of the month I can start working on my projects again,I pretty much stuck in bed for the next week aside for going to PT
-
I haven't been able to do anymore on this ,or any of my other projects,As I hurt my back and have been going to physical therapy so I can walk again,I'll keep everyone posted on this build as soon as I'm able to get back to work on it,Steve

Wonderful Paint work,I love to see these old kits built instead of sitting around,Thanks for sharing!

I'm not trying to be mean,I was just trying to give you some advice,I am working on a 71 Dodge Charger R/T,That i'm converting into a 500,and I had to flatten the hood,And trust me I have 4 days alone spent on working on the Hood and the gills in the doors,So anyways,You need to sand and prime as much as it takes to get it smooth,I always mist on just a light coat of Duplicolor Primer sealer to check my work,Any flaws ,More putty and sanding and primer,I use the 1800 grit sanding cloth from a polising kit with the soft sanding block after I knock the putty down with a medium grit sanding stick.
-
You also need to work on smoothing out your bodywork better, sand and prime untill it is completely smooth,The hood looks OK,But not correct at all!

Here is a mock up of the car,I still need to BMF all the trim,The interior is "parchment" Enjoy!

73-74 Satellite stock hood
spkgibson replied to spkgibson's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Your welcome Kevin I have one in the works in the "on the workbench" trends ,And the quality of the hoods are amazing,No filling, pinholes or flaws,I just had to clean it,Prime it,And it was ready for paint!Great job on these! -
Well here are a few of the car painted, the color is 1973 Plymouth "Autumn Bronze Metallic" Enjoy!

Ok Mr.Cane 440,I WANT one of those bodys,I have the original 72 kit with the same decals, both original and after market,One thing though,I think the hood scoop is wrong,I may be wrong,But in my kit,I has the one like the S&M Duster you just finished,Looks great my friend, just to warn you,If you make any other 73-74 Duster pro stocks,Use the MCW Trans Kit,the Compitition Resin Body is a POS,And warped beyond use,Mine was like that when I recieved it from them,Any ways,Looks great!

I have the 72 Road Runner kit,As the last photo is a 72,I may just have to make a 72 SSP,Thats a cool Idea,I finished the trim at the top of the doors last night,I'll post some pics as soon as I can get the final primer coats on,this car is kinda easy,Just when starting to make all the trim,Use bare plastic,Before you try to attach it,I ran into some issues with the wheel well trim, till I stripped off the primer, after I did that,it basicaly fell into place,On this one,It won't have the vinyl top,as this is just a test run of how to make the car,I also made the PLYMOUTH emblem for the header panel,I foil cast it from the trunk of one of my 73 Duster kits,The next one I make will have the HALO roof option,Now if only, some one would make the "SUNDANCE" Decals to make the 74 spring edition of this car!The hoods are out,From Missing Link,so know we need to contact Keith Marks to make the decals with the satellite emblems, and that version of the car I mentioned,Any one want to start up a pool to see if we can get him to make them? Ok back to working on the car,I'll post photos after final primer!

AMT'S 69 Riviera stock wheel covers,They are the closest match I can find for this car,I have a couple sets,But those will be used on the 75 Fury 2-door I'm working on,And the other set will be used on the 76 Charger Sport I'm working on,The 70 Impala stock wheel cover would work also,as they are almost the same thing,Thanks for looking.........Steve
-
Please PM me on the wheel covers,As I don't want my first on the workbench trend ruined by a bunch of nonsense that went on in the trade section,If you find them,I could use them!
-
I ment 400-4 barrel,not 4000,oops
-
I'll be making one that color combination soon,This one is just a test run for me ,It will just be th Amber Sherwood with the black interior,And the side trim down the sides was an option for the Sebring Plus,As was the Vinyl roof,But it will have the 4000 in it though
-
I'm thinking Amber Sherwood and Black, with the "HALO" vinyl top option, maybe!
-
Here are a few more..........Steve
