WOW Now that is a great idea ,great color combo, the grill and mods look sweet!
-
Thanks for the complements,I wish I could get thoses stripes in the photo of the real car,That is the look I was going for in the build,Actually that photo was what inspired me to build it this way,Thats how mmine is going to look,I used the 71 MPC Demon parts I had from the junk ebay by,So everything aside from the Bandit Resin kit is the original MPC Parts,Now to correct the "Duster"Front wheel wells,The next one I build,I'm going to cut those out of the 76 AMT Dart body,And blend them into the demon body,That will correct the problem,That Blue one I posted in this Thread,Was what was usable from the junk body,I split the front fenders on both bodys, and cut out both taillight panels,The superglued the demon parts to the Dart body,Bondod it,and worked it to get it right,So that 72 has the correct wheel wells on it

That version by MPC is a decent kit,What I did was took the 1997 edition of the GL,And got the 500 parts from the person I got the GL In trade,That is the same exact car as both that and the 1990 Daytona kit,Sometimes those kits came with the 500 grill attatched to the chrome tree,If you find that kit,or have that kit with the grill just modify the revell 68/69 hood,And there is your 500,I have one of the AMT 1990 editions of the daytona with the 500 grill in it,and as soon as my resin hoods get here I'll be starting a wHope this helps!hite with red stripe combo,as far as the places to get the resin parts,Dencon Or The Modelhaus, they both make them,The Modelhaus also has the stock car grill and gutted interior to make a race car out of!

Up Date New outside photos after polishing it out,And Painting the interior,Have a look!

No engines just yet,I still need to assemble and paint them,But the last few days the weather has been horrible,Stupid rain!So i'm unable to paint,Plus the Blue one I'm going to take more time on that one,I have over 30 hours worth of work in the body,That car was made by splitting the front fenders off both the junk 71 Demon, and using the taillight panel off the same,Then blending the parts to the 76 dart body to make a 72 out of it,It was alot of work,But it was worth the effort!

I agree 100%,After My wife and I move,I plan on sending alot of stuff to be plated,Six Pack hood?I'll make sure I get one of those!

That is looking sweet!

Here's a sneek peek at what coming next!
-
Yes they come with the body, hood, rollpan front and rear bumpers,They have the look and feel of a plastic body to me,Anyone looking to build a 71 Demon,I recommend this kit to everyone,I just wish the bumpers were plated in their products!

That is something I need to think about,I haven't decided yet,I have the Black Stripes for it,I like the looks of this color with the black,But i'm not putting the scoops or spoiler on the back,I personally think they look better without,On the 340 Demons,I would love to find the white stripes for this,But the Cady tail panel decal is to small.
-
I finished polishing it today,And mocked it up to see how it looks,Almost time for Bare Metal,And the real fun part,All the details on it.
-
I was thinking about making one that color combo,I need to finish this one,a White one and a B2 Light Blue Metallic one I have painted,My next 71 I'll probably make in that color combo,This one will have the 318 in it.
-
This started out as an old built up I won off e-bay,Well the body was trashed so I used the Bandit Resin kit,Excellent quality mind you,The rest is all of the original parts from the MPC kit!The paint came from www.automotivetouchup.com ,I made the correct front markerlights by foil casting them from the LA Dart Body.

Revell 69 Charger R/T vs. Revell Pro Modeler 69 Charger R/T
spkgibson replied to crowe-t's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
In my honest opinion they should have reissued the 68 off of the diecast tooling,It looks more correct to me,The bodylines are spot on,And they need to make the 70 from the Diecast tool, that body is spot on also!As far as the 68 DL Charger I bought a few when they first came out,And in the instructions they told you to fill in the 69 Marker lights,The First issue of the PM 69 Charger the body looked like a chopped banana to me,I'm glad the fixed it,Both DL And PM 68 and 69 Chargers were the same kit,But the body's were indeed different, the 68 smooth top,the 69 vinyl top,But if you compare both bodys, the cowl vents are different just a bit! -

I think it is the same one as the other companys that made it back in the late 90's Cheeze cast was the company as mentioned

That was a very involved project,Making the trim for the rear quarters and getting those the right shape took me over a week to do,Glad to see it cast,The car looks great!Enjoy fellow modelers!
