These truly are 2 in 1 kits. Well, if you use the roadster body for the street rod variant anyway. The unchopped version would be even better- you could use the roadster cab on the hot rod and still be able to build a stock T coupe. Build two complete cars from the contents of one box? Don't mind if I do!

From what I understand, the Motorcycle parts packs were nixed because Revell implied they'd be reissued first, then they actually reissued the engines first, and nixed the motorcycles after the poor showing of the engines sales-wise. Regarding the individual parts packs, many of them were recycled into the content of other kits. I don't recall which packs went into what kits, but I believe the suspension pieces in the Miss Deal Studebaker kit were originally sold in stand-alone parts packs. Anywho... the AMT Double Dragster kit seemed to sell pretty well, and so did the Munster Coach/Dragula. I'd have to think that if the tooling for Revell's double kits still exists, and are still in somewhat usable condition, they'd be at least thinking of bringing them back out. '60's drag subjects continue to be popular modeling subjects, I can't imagine there not being a wating audience for these things. Cash in the bank? I'd certainly think so. I know I'd snap up more than a few of them just for the Bantam and Sanitary T.

I'm currently rethinking a stalled project because I just saw one in the contest issue that looks similar to what I had in mind for it. (Steve Travis' '50 Ford F-1 on page 41.) Yes, mine wouldn't have been painted the same colors, etc., but the basic design and parts used are pretty similar to what I had planned on using. So mine is going to get reworked a little bit. There are always exceptions of course- if I'm modeling an existing car or doing my own design based on another vehicle, originality doesn't matter as much. But for the most part I do try to build things that don't resemble anyone else's. I'm not sure if it is an important aspect or not, it's just simply the way I prefer to do it.

One of the best vendors around. One thing though- not everything he sells is $15! Price and quality varies quite a bit on the product lines he does sell. I've bought quite a few Flintstone and R&R pieces from him, as well as a few plastic kits. Steve will always be up front with you and answer any questions you have about a kit's quality, parts included with it, etc.. Would NOT hesitate to reccomend him to anyone, and I can guarantee I'll continue to do business with him.

To prevent that (and to cover my hiney) I always try to get delivery confirmation, and give the number to the person who will be recieving the merchandise. That way I have proof I sent it, the other guy can track it, and he has proof I sent it. If it does get lost, I'll do my best to make up for it.

Love this! I have the same kit, but I did mine as a gasser.

Before the advent of online auction sites- I used to put up a flyer in my local hobby shops/dime stores/etc. (with the store owner's permission, of course) and had pretty good luck that way. Sure, not everybody is going to look at it, but some will, and some will contact you. Even if not, I did end up selling quite a few guys who called me saying "Yeah... buddy of mine told me you had a (fill in the blank)."

Possibly for some- for me, it's the exact opposite.

One other thing with regards to 'improving the existing product'- I'd also see to it that decalized gauge and instrument panel graphics were provided, as well as a more comprehensive decal sheet in general, with markings for the engine bay and other areas often overlooked (embroidered patterns on seats, woodgrain patterns for door panel trim, and the like).

Epic scratchbuilding and working with brass are not my strong suits, so I'd have to say I'm impressed by that alone. I do like the finished product, as well. Since this is quite a few notches in quality over what I build, I'm not going to nit pick over one or two details- step back and look at the total picture, and I like what I see. Period. I like that... might have to steal that moniker for a rat rod.

The go in through the valve covers like all Mopar Hemis, but the Moebius kit has the plug wire covers molded to the valve covers. I'd cut a small hole just behind the rear of this cover (it is the rectangular piece with three simulated screws) and insert the wires off the distributor into that.

Like Harry said, indeed they are. They're also quite expensive to replace, and I doubt they'd stand any chance at modern road speeds... much less against any full-on assault with the throttle.

I like this idea. I think that's one area that many of the kit manufacturers are ignoring altogether. New tooling is nice, but there is always room for improvement in the existing product line. It seems like all too often a reissued kit is just rushed back into production after a few test shots look 'okay', but when it starts trickling out to modelers, a number of quality issues come to light. Some of those issues may have to do with wear and tear on the tooling, while some might have been engineered into the kit from day one, or added during a later reissue. Either way, such a program could serve to eliminate the problems.

Green '52 is going to need a complete body repaint (long story) but I'm hoping to at least get started in the interior within the next couple of days.

To say it's a vast improvement over what you started with is an epic understatement! Love it, and yes, can't wait for the Revell '50, either.

It is definitely a two way street... some people need to choose their words a bit more carefully when offering what is inteded as helpful critique, and some people need to realize the one who are 'bashing' them are offering their remarks as a helpful critique. Yeah, there are trolls on this and every other internet forum, but I'm not even going to waste my time on that. They're the ones the 'Ignored Users' feature is intended for.
