As long as the paint is fully cured, you shouldn't have any trouble at all. I've used ScratchX on just about every type of paint and it has never let me down.

Never met a smart phone I liked, and I'm not a fan of Apple, so no i-whatever for me. I like my good old desk and laptop computing devices- full screen and and honest-to-gosh keyboard. Haven't tried out a Kindle yet, but I'm thinking of seeing what's what with those.

I never knew Wawa really existed until I started doing trades with a couple of guys out in Pennsylvania a few years back. Apparently that place is huge there.

I have a wood stove in the shop, so they do come in handy for that! And yes, I do sometimes leaf through the newspaper 'packing material' after I've removed my trade or purchase. There's a Ford dealer here in Michigan claiming to sell F-Series trucks for less than any other place in the country, but I have a few newspaper ads from Missouri which seem to contradict that.

Not crazy about the color, but I think just a few extra inches between the rear of the doors and the rear wheel openings would help the proportions. Overall though, I like it- it actually works pretty well when you consider the battleship-like dimensions the original car had.

Well... strictly stock can mean more than factory stock, right?

Just did a quick search- finished 8th in points in '82 with zero support from the factory. Let me just say this project has my full attention.

Motor City Resin Casters already makes just what you need for that.

First order of business with this kit... assemble the body into one piece. Then you can pretty much trashcan the remainder. This one's (going to be) based on a '48 I saw in a rat rod mag years ago- this has a Revell '48 Ford chassis, floor, and firewall, and it might end up 'downgraded' with the Ford Flathead V8 as well, because I don't want to raid any of my Monogram '41s for the proper V12.

The later Avanti II's had square headlamps- the bezel looked identical to the '64-up piece, but housed a square (well, rectangular) sealed beam. Bigger bumpers came along in the '70's, and during the '80's quite a few of them seemed to have C4 Corvette wheels. One of the Avanti kits I have stashed away is going to be updated to 1990 specs, though I might keep the earlier bumpers just for appearance's sake.

Good point. Original and unique can go hand in hand, though, although there are times when they clearly do not. For instance, if you were to build something like a '61 Plymouth Fury in any style (even stock) it would clearly be unique, although not original. But to me, building what somebody else has already done just doesn't appeal to me for the most part. I try not to pay too much attention, but when I'm working on a project and catch wind of something similar to what I'm doing, it almost invariably leads to that project never getting finished.

These truly are 2 in 1 kits. Well, if you use the roadster body for the street rod variant anyway. The unchopped version would be even better- you could use the roadster cab on the hot rod and still be able to build a stock T coupe. Build two complete cars from the contents of one box? Don't mind if I do!

From what I understand, the Motorcycle parts packs were nixed because Revell implied they'd be reissued first, then they actually reissued the engines first, and nixed the motorcycles after the poor showing of the engines sales-wise. Regarding the individual parts packs, many of them were recycled into the content of other kits. I don't recall which packs went into what kits, but I believe the suspension pieces in the Miss Deal Studebaker kit were originally sold in stand-alone parts packs. Anywho... the AMT Double Dragster kit seemed to sell pretty well, and so did the Munster Coach/Dragula. I'd have to think that if the tooling for Revell's double kits still exists, and are still in somewhat usable condition, they'd be at least thinking of bringing them back out. '60's drag subjects continue to be popular modeling subjects, I can't imagine there not being a wating audience for these things. Cash in the bank? I'd certainly think so. I know I'd snap up more than a few of them just for the Bantam and Sanitary T.

I'm currently rethinking a stalled project because I just saw one in the contest issue that looks similar to what I had in mind for it. (Steve Travis' '50 Ford F-1 on page 41.) Yes, mine wouldn't have been painted the same colors, etc., but the basic design and parts used are pretty similar to what I had planned on using. So mine is going to get reworked a little bit. There are always exceptions of course- if I'm modeling an existing car or doing my own design based on another vehicle, originality doesn't matter as much. But for the most part I do try to build things that don't resemble anyone else's. I'm not sure if it is an important aspect or not, it's just simply the way I prefer to do it.

One of the best vendors around. One thing though- not everything he sells is $15! Price and quality varies quite a bit on the product lines he does sell. I've bought quite a few Flintstone and R&R pieces from him, as well as a few plastic kits. Steve will always be up front with you and answer any questions you have about a kit's quality, parts included with it, etc.. Would NOT hesitate to reccomend him to anyone, and I can guarantee I'll continue to do business with him.

To prevent that (and to cover my hiney) I always try to get delivery confirmation, and give the number to the person who will be recieving the merchandise. That way I have proof I sent it, the other guy can track it, and he has proof I sent it. If it does get lost, I'll do my best to make up for it.

Before the advent of online auction sites- I used to put up a flyer in my local hobby shops/dime stores/etc. (with the store owner's permission, of course) and had pretty good luck that way. Sure, not everybody is going to look at it, but some will, and some will contact you. Even if not, I did end up selling quite a few guys who called me saying "Yeah... buddy of mine told me you had a (fill in the blank)."

Possibly for some- for me, it's the exact opposite.
