  1. How many parts does a 1:1 have? I've restored a couple of 1:1 vehicles, and I've STILL had a few kits give me a hard time. Not this particular kit, though. Gordon- is that Lime Ice on yours? I was planning on painting one of mine that color.
  2. Only issue I've had is that the headlamp reflectors seem to want to mount just a little bit lower than they should. Only the third semi I have built, and so far no serious issues. Yeah, the instruction diagrams could be better, but nothing on it seems to tough to figure out.
  3. The 'snout' looks a bit longer and more wedge-shaped than the AMT, I'd say no.
  4. I keep hearing of those mutliple instruction sheet Round 2 kits... have yet to purchase one myself. Feel kind of cheated.
  5. I collect them to a degree, and I usually scan them for the same purposes as you. One of these days I'd like to print out a sheet of them- owner's manual, factory and Haynes manuals, dealer brochures, and the like. The dealer brochures are the toughest things to come by- they are usually tossed out at the end of the model year. Here is a really good source for automotive literature- http://www.lloydsautolit.com/
  6. If all the buzz I'm seeing on this thing is any indication of how well it will sell, it might just be a hit. Seems like I've been seeing this car popping up on every automotive website and blog I follow. Dodge has already gotten TONS of exposure for this car- now the question is will it live up to the pre-production hype.
  7. All of the local stores ask for ID around here, even the auto parts stores. I'm a looooooooooooooong way from being under 18, but it still happens unless I'm buying supplies at a shop where I'm a frequent customer. Just one of those 'Big Brotherly' things.
  8. Well, it was solid advice for the FIRST part of the problem...
  9. The last issue of the Vampire van had different slicks anyway- I think it had the wide Goodyears, not sure if they were the hollow once-piece or the thick two-piece units, though.
  10. I've got a gun in the works similar in design to Rodney's. Mine's bigger, though. :P :P
  11. Not that I know of- but a 1:16 Hemi drag engine stuffed into one of these might give you the same look.
  12. Seems that way, same story for the Larks. Seems that way, same story for the Larks.
  13. Nice seeing this dragged back to the front burner, Rick! You know I'll be tagging along.
  14. Good. Let the hate flow through you... I was born after all of these cars had ended production (except the Chevette), so the stigma they had when they were new cars is lost on me. If nothing else, it's nice to see something other than the same worn-out muscle car kits being reissued, for a change.
  15. Nice! I have that Danbury pickup model, but it's in mint condition and I don't dare tear into it. Might have to look for a blemished or damaged one and give a go at modifying one.
  16. From their Facebook page- Thank you for your support and prayers. We are fortunate to have such caring and loyal customers. Because of our thorough safety procedures and incredible emergency support personnel, we were able to get everyone out safely. Although one of our buildings has been lost we are back at work today assessing what needs to be done and most operations are continuing as usual. Thank you again for your support and encouragement.
  17. I think Tom Coolidge at Promolite 2000 did cast a '70 at one time, but it is OOP now.
  18. Nice. Used, but clearly not abused.
  19. I was just in Meijer's today, no models... but they DID have copies of Fine Scale Modeler for sale on the rack.
  20. I'll be buying several of these... and harrasing Round 2 to look into bringing back more '70's compacts- like the Pacer and Chevette!
  21. Sounds like a couple of the guys I used to work with. Funny thing is, I have a neighbor who's a WWII vet, he owns a Toyota, and has had a few Volkswagens (including a couple buggies) over the years. I figure if he can forgive and forget, somebody who didn't even live through it could as well. Now, regarding the purple Auto World copies- it's just like the red ones, right- only a handful of each will be molded in the metallic purple?
  22. Yep, you got me on that. I was half right, anyway!
  23. Oh- and it (like Purple Power) seems to work best in a sealed container of some sort- I use a Glad clear plastic container with a snap-on lid.
