  1. I was afraid your answer would be something along those lines! At any rate, very cool.
  2. Wow- those old drag coupes clean up pretty well.
  3. I've seen that done with an Aerovette kit- I think it even had a wrecker boom on it! I'd say go for it.
  4. Partly sunny and a high of 53, or so it says. Or is it partly cloudy and a high of 53? Whatever- low 50's in Michigan in November? I'll take it.
  5. Hey- just had an idea, and with me that's never good...
  6. I ordered the SSII transkit from Time Machine, and it did take a few months, but after speaking on the phone with Jeff it was a case of a natural disaster (he had to help out some family members who were displaced by a hurricane) and a simple clerical error (at one point my not-yet shipped order was placed on the 'sent out' stack). I'd order from Time Machine again in a heartbeat- the prices are good, and the quality is good. I do take things like that into consideration, and I have to applaud Jeff for with a couple of rather testy e-mails I sent out! And I've heard very few negative stories about his delivery times. Perry's? I'll pick it up if I see it at a show, but after all the horror tales I've heard, no way am I going to order it via internet or mail.
  7. If you are feeling exceptionally brave, you might be able to use the R&R '48 4-door body to create that Hudson.
  8. Good point. Not sure what the mag would cost the shop.
  9. I'd applaud anyone who destroys a 1:1 Vette for any reason! Losing a Viper might make me sad, but not if it was used to build something cool.
  10. I wonder if a Beatnik Bandit fender unit could be made to work for the fenders. Not sure if the body has been narrowed (it has obviously been shortened), but I think using a Revell '69 body and the BB fenders and a little cut-and-paste action might at least get you in the ballpark.
  11. You could always build one wheel, then pull a mold off it and cast the rest.
  12. Close! One letter too many. XF-10 is Flat Brown. X-10 is the Gunmetal.
  13. Which kit is that pickup from?
  14. I approve ditching the Chev for the Hemi.... but If you've got an engine bay that size why not go full bore and drop in a blown 'Cammer?
  15. Well... my Lincoln may idea may have been weird, but here's one I'm actually building... '75 AMC Matador body, riding on a stretched '98 Vette chassis (complete with the rear mounted transaxle), and a (possibly turbocharged) Viper V10 for power. Hows that for nuts?
  16. A chassis made from.... business cards? I've had some nutty ideas of my own, but I have to hand it to you I'd have never even considered that. Appropriate that a curbside model is being used for curbside deliveries!
  17. I've had a similar idea (Revell Lincoln MKVII body on an AMT T-Bird Winston Cup chassis) so I think its a pretty cool idea!
  18. Snowcones are manufactured in a similar manner.
  19. Ah- NOW I get it. Took me a second...
  20. The frame castings on a lot of the kits seem a bit rough, yes. Nothing major on any of mine though.
  21. That's why I buy it from my hobby shop. No mangled covers, no dog-eared pages- if the mag ends up ripped to shreds its nobody's fault but mine. Yeah, it's more expensive buying each issue than getting a subscription, but that means Golden Bell is making more money off me, right?
  22. And don't forget to have the Rollaids and Gas-X handy, just in case.
  23. I never understood that myself... order online with in-store pickup. Isn't the whole point of ordering avoiding going to the actual store?
  24. I think this is the first time I've ever seen this kit built. Quite familiar with those wheels, however.
  25. I'm working on this same kit, in a similar color even! I'd say that open trunk needs some 'stuff' in it... maybe a cooler or a spare tire. The best part about opening a trunk is putting stuff back there!
