  1. There's an STS, but I don't think there's a CTS, at least not in resin or plastic.
  2. Somebody said pro street. Here's an extreme example-
  3. Today we're in the thick of the ProTouring/Restomod trend-
  4. It wouldn't hurt, but I seriously doubt anyone would notice this. Personally I'd focus more of my efforts on the more visible aspects. I really don't think anyone would even notice the difference in scale widths unless they had a caliper handy.
  5. Yep, had one of those in auto shop, but all I had were a bunch of shorter ones!
  6. When I was changing the clutch in my '84 Cherokee, I could NOT get to the top trans bolts, but I found that once I had it up on the hoist, about four feet worth of extensions and a swivel socket were just what the doctor ordered.
  7. When I see one with a tonneau I think "why didn't you just buy a sedan?". When I see one with a topper I think "Why didn't you just buy an SUV?" Maybe it's a 'want over need' kind of thing, I guess.
  8. Brett- didn't know you could build out of box! I'll be looking forward to seeing this one come together.
  9. Great progress, really digging the chop! Oh, Terry- some Mercury truck pics and info- http://www.mercurypickup.com/
  10. I'm going totally from memory on this, but I think its mostly the same as the '63 Bus and Type 2 pickup, meaning its a curbside but has a pretty good chassis and body. I don't think it comes with any interior side panels, though. Pics of the Bus- http://public.fotki.com/ChuckMost/kit-contents/hasegawa/63-volkswagen-type-/
  11. Worse than the SUV fad (to me anyway) are all these crew cab trucks with four-foot-long beds. What's the point? You clearly are more worried about passenger carrying capability than cargo space... so buy a sedan! This only applies to the short/short bed crew cabs, crew cabs with regular 'short' beds and long beds actually make sense to me.
  12. I've used Scratch X before foil quite a bit. Not only is it workable, the foil sticks much better to a polished surface.
  13. Indeed it does. In fact, I think the Excalibur (a Studebaker product, believe it or not) was the first neo classic.
  14. It continues in Japan, where 'Dajiban' Dodge Ram Vans are being built... and even raced in autocross type events! http://omgpancakes.w.../01/12/dajiban/ And I've got a Hasegawa VW bus that might end up looking pretty close to that sweet machine in the above post. Maybe I'll do a Dajiban style VW?
  15. Here's one I've been working on given my longtime fascination with diesel-powered rats. Still a WIP, it's an IH V-800 turbodiesel from an IH Transtar and a '50 Ford cab on a modified Lil Mixer frame. At the rate I'm going with it, it'll be done around mid 2015.
  16. That frame is sweet- It would almost be a shame to cover it up with a body!
  17. One of my favorite recent development, what's being called the 'truckster' (though the name is disputed on closed-cab trucks, I've heard them reffered to as 'cabsters'). Basically, it's a hot rod built around a late '30's-up truck cab.
  18. Rob brought up mini trucks, and of course the guys with rat-rod tenedencies have gotten hold of a few mini-trucks as well.
  19. Interior bits and T-Buckets. Once again, Mr. Myers delivers!
  20. Another clue with the glass- very few modelers bother with the gaskets around the glass, and if they do, rarely get it to look right.
  21. And I'd like to expand on the 'van' issue....
  22. Street Freaks and street driven 'axle' cars, anyone? Yeah, a few too many Chevys, I know.
