  1. Not kits, but a couple of hoods from GW Trucks... Road Boss 108" BBC and set-back Diamond Reo.
  2. Got my 108" hood today. Thanks a lot, Jim.
  3. I didn't even know Panoz was still in business...
  4. Nice! Foiling the '54 is a cakewalk compared to foiling a '52 or '53. Lot's less intricate trimwork in the greenhouse. But yeah, the convertible is easiest of them all.
  5. Sweet! Kind of has a rainbow Fruit Roll-Up look with that multihue paint. Probably doesn't taste nearly as delicious, though....
  6. I've been trying to curb the space issue by getting more 1:32 stuff. My advice to anyone thinking of doing the same is... don't.
  7. The original builder glued the sleeper doors on backwards, but since I don't intend to use the sleeper, no big deal. All the painted parts are in the Purple Pond as I type this.
  8. Now, before everybody gets all excited, keep in mind this thing is an $8 parts lot... I'm still pretty pleased with the transaction, to be honest.
  9. Thanks guys! Not sure if I'll make it to NNL this year, Tim, I'll have to see what the work schedule holds. It's "crunch time" this time of year in my industry. Harry- nothing more than thinned black paint on the wheels and hubcaps. Isn't that the one used in that Orkin TV ad from a few years ago? Because that's exactly where I got the idea for the chopped '37 grille.
  10. This was pretty much just a quick weekend buildup of the kit as the channeled version. I did deviate from box stock by adding a '48 Flathead with Eddie Meyer parts from Replicas and Miniatures, and a chopped '37 Ford truck grille. I went with the teardrop taillights because they matched the shape of the Eddie Meyer air cleaner. Next one I build is going to sit a lot lower, but other than that I can't gripe about the kit itself too much.
  11. But what if you do something very insane and uncalled for... like, say, safely pull to the shoulder and stop immediately.
  12. Ford Bubble Hood on a Bowtie = instant fail, but I guess I'm in the minority because I'd rock the side pipes.
  13. Thanks guys. In case anyone was curious, this was the rendering that inspired me on this one.
  14. Yeah, that stuff's been around for 7 or 8 years now...
  15. This is the BRE reissue, with Fujimi BBS wheels and Aoshima bucket seats. It has a scratchbuilt hood and Detail Master hood pins. Other than that it's box stock. The graphics scheme and overall style were inspired by a drawing from automotive illustrator Scott "Fisch" Fischer. It's not an exact match, but it'll do for me.
  16. I started this back in May of 2012... I took a couple of year-long breaks from it during that time. It's going to be weird seeing this finished on the shelf, after seeing it sitting around unfinished on the work bench for so long! The idea here was a custom tractor, but I didn't want to go with the long frame and polished everything look. Don't get me wrong, I like that look, but everybody's doing it these days. I went with a modest wheelbase, and used as little chrome/polished/stainless "shiny stuff" as I felt I could get away with. The day cab and Harley grille are from Models By Dave. I had originally planned to add the round Harley headlights, but I liked the look of the fenders without lights of any kinds... so let's just say the headlights are now in the spots where the factory fog lights used to reside. I blacked out the bottom part of the bumper, and went with Duplicolor School Bus Yellow/Tamiya Semi Gloss Black throughout. The fuel tanks are from a Peterbilt 359, as is the (modified) headache rack. The diamond plate rear fenders are from the Revell Kenworth snap kit. I made new mud flaps from thin plastic sheet. The diamond plate tool boxes came from AITM. The smoke stacks are polished K&S aluminum tubing. The idea here was a "mild custom" semi tractor, something that could be taken to a show, but could still be used to pull a trailer and earn its keep the rest of the week. Yeah, looks like it could use a little dusting off here and there!
  17. Lowboy is the ultimate plan, but we'll see. It'll look alright bobtailing on the shelf for the time being.
