  1. Here are some pics of the LT- http://codeediecast.com/Code-E_Diecast_Collection/Lincoln_Mark_LT.html
  2. None that I've seen, not even in resin. There was a diecast Mark LT done in 1:24 scale as a promotional item for Lincoln when the LT came out. I believe the same company did a 1:24 diecast Blackwood as well, but they're much more rare. Both trucks were based on the F-150, so you wouldn't need a SportTrac. I suppose if you really wanted one badly enough you could use a Revell '97 F150 as the basis for a Blackwood, but it would require a ton of scratchbasing.
  3. ... and nothing of value was lost.
  4. Just get the stock version of the kit. Original run- Or the reissue, which for some reason shows the old SMP long bed on the box but contains the newer-tool kit-
  5. I built one as a post-apocalyptic rat rod.
  6. First 1:43 model I've ever built, and it may be the last completed model for me this year. It's the late '70's tool Heller kit, which has also been sold in Airfix and Humbrol-branded boxes. Very few parts, and other than the tire halves (which have no means of positive location) the parts lock together pretty well. I grimed it up a bit, and plan to add a little more weathering once my eyes uncross. I have to say I'm in no hurry to do a small scale model again anytime soon, and I have to hand it to people who can build these to look as impressive as a larger scale piece. But I had fun and kept my Mini bender running, so that's all that matters to me. Just for kicks, here it is as meat in a 1:24 scale Tamiya Mini sandwich.
  7. Beautiful buildup of a not-so-beautiful car. My hat is off to anyone who can build 1:43 scale that cleanly.
  8. AC compressor and an alternator (as opposed to a generator). Hmmmmm.... would those have been factory issue for a GM truck of this vintage?
  9. Best looking buildup of the wrecker kit I have ever seen, period.
  10. I think doing them in black would look okay- but I do like the idea of bronze.
  11. That's what makes it ironic. That, and take a look at the concept and see if you can picture the average Buick customer (a little old lady or an upwardly mobile Chinese worker) buying one...
  12. Never say never, though.
  13. Avast, ye! I will point out one thing- you neglected to detail the windshield and back window trim. But aside from that, it's a fantastic final result. I was keeping an eye on the in-progress on this and was wondering what ever became of it.
  14. 2007 was 45 years ago? If this one makes it to production, I wonder if it will make it to the US. The previous GT was sold here as a Pontiac and Saturn- those makes are gone. It's hard for me to picture it with a Buick badge, ironically.
  15. What's left of the factory white paint.
  16. Two? Jeez.... better ease up there, bro!
  17. Wrapped up another Tamiya Morris Mini. This one was done as a kind of custom-themed beater. It has been lowered, the handles and bumpers were shaved, and a Von Dutch flying eyeball replaced the Morris badge on the hood. Side pipes are just for show- they aren't hooked into the car's actual single exhaust- they were bent from 3/32" aluminum tube. The wheels and stock exhaust are from the Austin version.
  18. Nice- I've got one of these planned. Won't be as slick and shiny as this though.
  19. I just finished a Morris Mini and thought "That was fun", so here I am working on another one. Sometimes for me, the previous model picks the next one.
  20. Finished this up an hour or so ago. It's a kitbash of the '69 and '71 kits, plus a few choice doodads from a Revell '68 Mustang GT. The rocker panel trim foil needs to be touched up- you can see where it's more than a little crooked along the section on the door. I'll get to that when I feel like it.
  21. Very cool build-ups of a much-overlooked subject. Bet you won't see 50 others just like them at the next show or contest.
  22. Always a treat to see someone actually built this kit, but it's a full-blown event when someone builds it to a level like this. Very well done.
  23. Don't believe everything you read in the internet...
  24. So, I was walking out to the truck after work, and this guy walks up to me and asks me if I have a moment to talk about all-season tires. I said "No, thank you, but I am very burned out after working twelve hours and would just like to go home." But he just wouldn't let up. He said something about "guaranteed even tread wear" and "smooth ride". I said "No, thank you, I just want to get in my truck and go home." Then he started throwing out phrases like "innovative bonded six-ply design" and "superior roadholding characteristics" and I lost it. Punched him right in his all-season-tire-loving face. I hate all-season tires so much I can't stand it...
  25. I've actually pondered this. Sometimes when you snap the cap back on you can feel a small puff of air come out- maybe the hole is there so the cap won't "vacuum seal" itself to the can. Anybody know a spray can designer?
