  1. Ask and you shall receive. lol
  2. Not putting down the model or the car (nice work), but does anyone else see a rip off of the Mach 5 with a bad customizing job? LOL!!!
  3. Ebay should have everything you need. I'd just use the stock chassis unless you want a true tube chassis for a real pro stock car. That's my 69 Street strip car. I don't think the yellow slapper bars are on it in that pic yet. I got those from e bay along with wheels and tires already printed white. Use MAD Distributors - Morgan Automotive Detail (madmodeling.com) for your wired distributors. They have other parts too. Most realistic dist. around. Model Car Garage for nitrous tanks and shifters and such. Too many resin manf. out there too. Too many decal makers too.
  4. Looks good, but that dist. sits in there at an angle. That's why the valve cover had the slanted cut to it on the side there. Not complaining, just informing. lol
  5. It's the old General Lee kit. Has a steel axle through pin holes on the rear. The axle sits between the stands for the axle holes. The front has two stands and two plastic pins that goes through the wheel backs and glues into the holes in the stand. Very cheap made kit. I used it to build the bad guy's car from the 1986 tv movie the "Gladiator" Had Robert Culp in it, Rick Dees the girl from the Robo Cop movies too.
  6. More than welcome. If you go back to the beginning, they had to be stock. The term wedge came along because people would drive wood wedges between the leaf spring packs in the rear, which was illegal in the beginning. I'm sure you know they were mostly old moonshine cars in the beginning too. Then the truck parts came along when they got fast enough to start breaking stuff. They used truck tires as well. They had more ply's and lasted a little longer than car tires before they started blowing out. They just could not take the heat. Roll cages were flimsy at first and improved over the years too. I guess best thing to do is search for pics of your favorites and go from there. My car. Nothing like sliding sideways at a buck 20 with the LF a foot or so off the ground with almost 900 hp on tap.
  7. They are older outdated NASCAR chassis with smaller lower hp engines. At one time they used 2 bbls and at one time they even used V6's in them. It just depends on the year. 60's is going to be really close to stock. They would upgrade things to make it more heavy duty. Instead of using stock car tie rod ends, they would use stock 1 ton truck tie rod ends. Truck spindles and axles and things like that. If you looked at them, you would not know the difference other than the size of them.
  8. Sorry, I missed it I guess. But it's looking good. Thanks.
  9. Looks good. What color is that?
  10. Thanks, for that info. I'll keep it in mind if I build another one. I already have in in primer and red paint. So, I guess I got lucky on that one. lol I'd like to do a V8 conversion and RWD kind of street strip and see how that turns out.
  11. They make in on red too. Stock, not a police vehicle. I got one so I could make my old red 03 van out of it.
  12. More than welcome. Yeah, it takes a lot of sanding. Something I don't care much for. lol
  13. Glad it worked out for you.
  14. I used medium. From Hobby Lobby.
  15. I fixed three bodies for a friend of mine. One was really bad. I just filled them with c/a glue and sanded them down when it dried. Worked great and the glue just flows where it needs to go. I'd try that again if the need comes up.
  16. Looks good. Next time when you do the yellow stripe on the tires, line it up with a lug nut. That stripe is what the pit crew uses to line up the lugs and put the tires on so fast. Can't stand the new cars with the single Indy wheel type lug nut. Looks good though. I like it.
  17. Firestone Drag 500's. Pad printed that I found on e bay.
  18. Yes, he put them upside down. Bottom of the number faces the driver's door and some are set at angles. But it's made so the score keeper can read the roof numbers from the pit road side of the track.
  19. Welcome, anytime. I might have a set of front wheels and tires left over from the SWC Willy's if you want them. I know I don't have the rears.
  20. Wheels and tires from the Stones Woods and Cook Willy's coupe would be pretty close to those in the pics too. Hope that helps.
  21. Welcome anytime. Here's a link to one from AutoZone, only 12 bucks. OEMTOOLS 1/8in to 7/8in Mini Tubing Cutter (autozone.com)
  22. You can get a small tubing cutter from Wal Mart, Advance Auto, AutoZone, Harbor Freight, Hobby Lobby, etc. etc. Not hard to find.
  23. Use these. Has the white stripes built in. Just paint it blue and lay these down.
