  1. Superb detailing Hermann! The Kenworth dash pieces look to be a perfect fit for a Marmon. I believe the black box you were referring to would be the heater box.
  2. You are doing an awesome job on this!
  3. This is looking real good Ken! I came across a DM800 build on another forum and the builder cut the plastic tube connecting the fenders down the middle. He then sleeved a piece of thin aluminum tube over the 2 halves before attaching them to the frame, allowing the fenders to swing up independently of each other which I thought was a good idea. Just trying to gather info on all of the corrections and modifications I will need to do before I start building mine.
  4. Nice work! I hope that IH logger gets reissued someday. Where did you get the chain binders?
  5. Now that's an interesting project and what you've done so far looks great! I love those snap kits, with some minor modifications they build up into really nice models. You can't beat the price of them either (unless you bought one from Amazon!)
  6. I bought a pair from KJ at Double Take Replicas for a Brockway dump I'm building and they look just right on it. He has 2 different tread patterns in link below. http://kdhumphr.wixsite.com/double-take-replicas/rubber-tires
  7. Sweet looking VIT! Those were the most luxurious trucks from that era and this one has a lot of options. I'll bet you got a lot of attention driving it around over there. Thanks for posting the detail pics.
  8. Nice! You made the right choice of cabs, that packer body looks great on that chassis.
  9. Lots of great snap kit builds on here! Charles, your scratch building and attention to all of the small details are over the top, hard to believe they started life as snap kits. I've only built 2 so far but I have a few more in the stash. I built them when I was getting burnt out on another build just to keep myself motivated since they could be thrown together in a week or so. Both are almost box stock, Kenworth has an added visor, and running lights removed from headlights and put on the fender where they belong. Peterbilt has an added visor, headache rack and headlights from the AMT kit. 10. Nice! Making all of the doors and storage bins operational had to be some tedious work, you did an excellent job! Do you have any interior pics?
  11. Nice work on both, the livestock van looks perfect behind the Lonestar. I'm also curious about the application process of the steel powder as I've never seen it before.
  12. Very nice work on the conversion! Remaking all of those rivets had to be a pain but they look great. That front bumper looks like it will be a challenge.
  13. Wow, that is an outstanding rendition of the original wrecker! Definitely one of the best I've ever seen.
  14. That is awesome! I thought the first photo was of a 1:1 that you were using for reference, superb detailing.
  15. Man, that is nice!
  16. Nice work on both! I haven't built one of those AMT R models for about 25 years and had forgotten about all of the problems getting the cab to sit right. I may have to try and score one of those Lindberg chrome tankers too, it looks like a lot nicer kit than I thought it would.
  17. Nice International, I like the double bunk, and your fully detailed garage is very impressive!
  18. That's a sharp 359!
  19. Sadly, I was about 6 months too late. He was an amazing photographer, the pictures he took in '65 look like they were taken with a digital camera yesterday. I really hope someone in his family will do something productive with all of his slides. They are definitely worth checking out for anyone on here who hasn't already seen them.
  20. Thanks Ken, that's exactly where the idea came from, the Distributor's Service Co. reefer pic. I get a lot of my ideas from his photostream.
  21. Outstanding builds, Brian and Clayton! It sure is nice to have all of these cabovers in one thread.
  22. It's been a little less than 2 years since anyone has posted to this cabover thread and I've seen a lot of nice ones built on this forum since then. I figured it's time to revive this again so hopefully people will start adding theirs. 23. That turned out great Brian! The IH bumper was a good choice.
  24. You have done an outstanding job on the Astro, definitely one of the nicest ones I've ever seen! Are you planning on doing the Coke van too?
