Not my type of deal but very well done. I always wish I could do such things like you've done. Excellent work and very enjoyable following it through.

I always wonder to myself why people model newer cars. Now I know why. The modifications aren't usually major and look like factory prototypes. You've done a masterful job on the Challenger/wagon. Looks like something Mopar should build. Go with the wheels you've shown, they look like you could get them from the factory option list. Please keep the paint moderate like something from the factory. This is building up into something very exciting. Keep us posted on results and progress.

Good one Harry. I was at an IPMS show in our city this September and they had a pile for sale. Ten minutes later there was an empty box.

One mean lookin ride. Very clean. Look at that shine on the paint. What with emeral(type color) green? Never saw green cars, now they are all over the place. Green with the white interior really stands out. Again, very clean and well done.

question about dupicolor color match
moparfarmer replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Can't buy Plasticote T235 or any Plasticote here in Winnipeg Canada. Been using Duplicolor sandable primer and it works good. Canadian Tire who sells Duplicolor have a new can out. Its thicker and not quite as tall, seems to be not as hot, kinda like an acrylic/lacquer. Goes on smooth and polishes up real nice after clear coat. Just my 2 cents worth. -
eBay question
moparfarmer replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For the financial good of the purchaser, DON'T send it to Canada via UPS. The brokerege fees for him/her will be at least an extra $30.00 for them to get their parcel. Is better to wait until tomorrow and send it USPS. Cheaper for you and them also in the long run. When I used to buy from Ebay I always asked NOT to send via UPS or FED-EX. because of extra fees. -
You've got something going there that could be very sleek. I like whats happening but sorry, you got to lose that awful scoop off the hood. Takes away from the smooth sleek lines I think your trying to achieve. Keep going and show whats happening.

Not my type of car or something I would build. You've done an extrememly well done job on that Chevy. Very,Very clean build that will look very sharp on contest tables anywhere. You can be proud of your work. Everything is spot on........

Very nice build. One of the few times AJ drove a Dodge. Did you know Junior Johnson also drove a Dodge for part or maybe all of 1964 for Ray Nicholls too?

1969 - Phantom Dodge Magnum - Need Assistance!
moparfarmer replied to Drake69's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looks like you've got your work cut out for yourself. If you work slowly and methodically you will do fine. Haven't seen any, or much of your stuff, but if you want to take that on your probably well versed about your modelling. Your right on your statement though. If it doesn't work you haven't really lost much being a Dukes car to start with. If all turns out sweet, then you can find a Revell Charger for the rest of the job. Good luck and lets see some progress pictures.............. -
You do nice clean work. You picked a rare resin to start with. Can't wait to see what you would do with a Modelhaus resin. Again very clean.

You are one crazy modeller. Very good job so far. Keep up the good work and show lots of pictures. Gonna be one sweet ride you won't want to give up.

The excitement of driving dads car
moparfarmer replied to Sam Cates's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was a car guy. My mother and father could care less. They had to work hard for every dollar they made. Mom never worked either, and dad didn't drive. Mom learned when she was she was about 50 yrs old. My uncle had a Plymouth/Chrysler/Fargo truck dealership in the country. Our first car was a 58 Plymouth Savoy 4 dr sedan. Black/white spear with red/black interior. Bought it from the uncles dealership and was a Chrysler Corp demo car. No power steering and a V8. I can't describe how it was to drive it up and down the back alley before I got my learners permit. After I got my license, two years later I talked them into a 66 Plymouth Satellite with a 383/2bbl. Wow, I had a car now to pick up the babes. End of story. Sorry for the rant. -
A Personal Apology
moparfarmer replied to Steve Keck's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
On October 16, the Coyotes home opener against the Winnipeg Jets, should be a fun game with the two cites going head to head. There are a few trips planned in Winnipeg to go, but I'am trying to put things together(money) to go. Will be a party atmosphere for both teams considering that we almost got the Yotes a few years ago. Make sure you go and have a good time. Each teams fans will party together and make new friends I'am sure. -
Don't have a posting site, but whatever Photobucket has done to view pictures is really annoying. If I see someone has bucket I usually don't even look now. Four pictures you can barely see on a page. Used to be a lot better. Fotki is the best for viewing and if I got a site it would definately be Fotki.

SORRY,MY BAD. Wrong board and tread. I should have looked at page one before I flew off at the mouth. Hope you accept my apology.................

Very nice work going on there. Wasn't the picture of the car in the beginning of the thread a big block car? Said 383 on the pie cover. You are wiring up a small block. All big block distributors were in the front. Doesn't really matter though, its your car and your doing a great job of doing it. Gonna be a killer build when done.

Rodney, I seem to recall now that you mentioned it, you are right. The different wheelbase front clip was for the MPC racecar series they had. There were pony cars, and intermediates and only one chassis. You could use the different holes for the front clips on them.
-
Aren't there two setting you can glue the front clip on the AMT pieces? Seem to recall there was. Haven't built an AMT Mopar since 15 yrs ago. Just a memory I recall.

41 Years and Life To Go!
moparfarmer replied to a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Don't know who you are or who Jeannie is but congratulations on your 41st anniversary. You obviously remember your vows.Like you say, you've got each other and thats a big deal nowadays. Now go for 50, the next milestone. One question though, they say when people been married for a long time they start to look like each other, is that true? My poor wife is in trouble if its true. Again congratulations -
Randy do you frequent this board? I know I shouldn't go to other boards for other board help, but is anyone else having trouble getting into other model boards lately. I frequent a few that you know who I'am and would ask Randy to email me about his board. I keep getting this is not able to connect to this site. Anybody got any ideas. If I stepped out of my bounds, moderator please delete this request and I will understand. Thanks Wayne Farmer aka.......moparfarmer

Question about Micro Mesh
moparfarmer replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
James has got it going the right way. Finish up with one of Meguiare's fine cutting coumpounds with their Gold Class paste wax. You'll have a real good smooth finish then. I use their Cleaner then the Gold Class. You can also use their Scratch X then the paste wax. Another good sealer/finish/paste wax is Simonize paste wax. There is no grit in it and it is pure paste wax. Don' know if they still make it though. Its in a yellow tin with red Simonize on the side. Maybe you can find some in an old store etc. Good luck and be careful when sanding and using the polish with grit in it. -
Liking what you've done to that Dodge. Engine looks killer as the white paint. How did you do the headlights? Paint trick or lens installed. I know the original had chrome headlamps but yours look real.
