  1. Since this was shown in the catalogue, and it was a common style among many manufacturers including Ford, it strikes me that there must have been more than one Bianchi like this. This picture was identified as a Ford -- probably a custom for the top-hat class. (I'm not sure if I believe that). But I've found similar styles among other brands. The model kit was issued in 1970, and like most antique automobiles, there's no telling how many different paint schemes it may have experienced between 1906 and then. Therefore, I suggest that Signore Pristovnik should choose what suits his taste.
  2. I would assume that the engine colors would be very close to to the typically Italian FIAT and Itala racers you've already built.
  3. Italeri also made a 1/16 version of this kit, which to me is the best of all 300 SL kits. It's basically a scaled-up version of the 1/24, but with more detail parts plus chrome badging instead of decals. The one bothersome thing in both kits is an inaccurate windshield shape, but that can be conquered without a lot of trouble.
  4. Good job. Any engine shots?
  5. I would recommend the combo DVD/CD set of "Black and White Night," a Roy Orbison club concert of his greatest hits, with backup by Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, JD Souther, kd lang, Jennifer Warnes and Bonnie Raitt, among others, who don't try to upstage him. Beautifully engineered and shot in black and white.
  6. Here's the Isaak album. Track #4,Down in Flames, is to me the epitome of rockabilly.
  7. The Stray Cats definitely fit the genre. Among the best.
  8. In following other journals on building this kit, it's often said that the suspension is too weak for the weight of the model. Any thoughts on addressing that?
  9. My understanding of rockabilly goes back to Bill Haley, early Elvis, Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis, combining western, country, R&B and rock n' roll. This well-researched article pretty much describes it as I've always seen it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockabilly
  10. I love "First Comes the Night," the new album by Chris Isaak, the reigning king of 21st century rockabilly and a genre splitter. Elvis lives, plus other guys like Marty Robbins and maybe Orbison without the highest octaves. Very 50s, plus western and rock. Hard to describe if you're not familiar with his music.
  11. Is that a one-part adhesive?
  12. The Bugatti T59 is very nice. As with all T59 models, accurate piano wire wheels are a problem, but LeMans Miniatures has excellent aftermarket wires (made for the Bugatti T57 tank slot car).
  13. The covered trunk spare tire versions were quite rare and are highly sought after today. The 1/16 kit by Minicraft, Entex, etc. is pretty good, and can be built as the Maharajah, or with spares mounted on the fenders, or on the trunk (open or closed). You should look at the one built by Harry P of this forum.

  15. It's a nicely done diecast, and a good value. However, you'll notice that the white one has the inaccuracy of having spare tires on both the fenders and the trunk. Never came that way from the factory.
  16. Yup, it's a masterpiece -- but a prototype and a trial balloon. Wait until you see what he's doing with his 1/8 Pocher version.
  17. The paint finishes are amazing, especially the weathering on the steering and brake wheels.
  18. Cool car if you have a spare $250k - $290k as reported.
  19. Depending on the car, you can often find a specific wiring diagram online, which can be aided by looking at Google images for engine bay and chassis.
  20. True enough about disclosing too much information. But In this case, there is so much information in the picture that it showed up near the top of page one of my Google results.
