  1. No, never have had anything of mine in the magazine. Seems sort of a "conflict of interest" to me. That makes no sense. The people who publish should be able to conduct a master class in their subject.
  2. This just gets better and better, and may be your masterpiece.
  3. While I suspect that Monogram based the kit on their Phantom II Henley roadster, all I can find about the car you're describing is that it's a 1929 Springfield Phantom I Sport Phaeton (which would explain why Art insists the Monogram kit is a Phantom I). Google that description and check the chassis/engine against the kit. I bet it's a Phantom II engine in the kit. In any case, I don't have any reference for that or any Phantom I. While the Monogram classics look great, they also fudged big-time on their kits for the Mercedes 540k cabriolet and coupe.
  4. As you have shown, it's the minutiae that make the difference.
  5. What Rolls kit are you going to build? This will affect the reference you need.
  6. Outstanding. Looking forward to more.
  7. I went back to both the RHD and LHD manuals and the caption shows that both are indeed the automatic version. I don't have any reference on the manual version, but I did find a couple of dash shots that have a chrome T-pull on the left side.
  8. FYI, if you want to build one of the Monogram 1931 Rolls-Royces, you'll want reference for the Phantom II. The Phantom I was discontinued in 1928. You'll find great info and images at rmauctions.com, and I have tons of material I can share with you. I also recommend that you follow Cato's Rolls Sedanca and Harry's Rolls woody threads in Big Boyz to see their Pocher builds.
  9. I didn't see this mentioned earlier, so I hope I'm not being repetitive.... HP has just introduced a bundled system called Sprout, which includes a scanner, 3D software and a Dremel 3D printer. $2699. If you don't want the printer, they offer 3rd party printing services.
  10. I suspect that both images show the auto thermostat.
  11. This view looks very promising
  12. The only real substance of my post was to point out that there would be different elements on the dash between automatic and manual shutter control versions. The rest is just high-falutin' stuff to back up my observations. Just to be anal, Harry is basing his on the 1934 Star of India, so that would have an automatic shutter control. But we all know that Pocher used a lot of parts over on different models. If the chassis, etc., are all the same, that would explain why I've seen a complaint about the Star of India kit that the doors don't match the 1:1.
  13. According to the PII owner manual, "On chassis series previous to JS-1 (built July 25, 1931), the radiator shutters are hand-operated by means of a lever on the left-hand side of the instrument board. A thermometer arranged on the instrument board indicates the coolant temperature of the engine, a small red lamp warns the driver when the temperature conditions of the engine require adjustment. " So any dashboard reference with manual indicators and lever would be from a car built before July 1931. The automatic version will have a thermometer on the dash and not the red lamp and lever. Whatever the year, the shutters should be closed when starting the engine.
  14. Is the kit shutter control manual or the later automatic? Or does that have anything to do with the position?
  15. Skip, let me see if there is an older browser update on the main software site. Right now, there doesnʻt seem to be any support, but Iʻll check again. many thanks.
  16. I know I will eventually be dead in the water. But for now, This is the only site / forum I frequent or search where my old iMac 10.4 can no longer participate, even in other places where I get a window that says I have to upgrade my browser (which I can't). I can still use all those sites Flash is another issue but it doesn't make any difference here.
  17. This car needs guns, or fishing gear with a wicker creel like on the side of your brass Ford Model A , or a picnic basket, wherever you put them. In any case, you could just stick a gun case and/or picnic basket on top of the floorboard. It doesn't matter if there's a designated storage compartment.
  18. Skip- Look at the list of threads. They should have a dark blue star or dot in front of them. The star is a thread you have posted in, the dot means you haven't. Clicking on either will take you to the first unread post. Nope. I get all new content from every thread and not the individual thread.
  19. I also miss the ability to "Go to first unread post."
  20. My hope was that my request would be passed along to the software providers. Things were working just fine until the change, and I have few if any problems elsewhere on the Web.
  21. The woodwork is REALLY starting to shape up. Can't wait for more. (But I still think you could a put a trap door in the rear floorboard to house a gun case and other storage items). BTW, the green upholstery is lighter than I expected and I like it a lot.
  22. The new format seems not to support my old Safari 4.1.3 browser on my desktop iMac, which I can't afford to upgrade and can't use other browsers. Now I can't use it to post anything on the forum, and that's where all my files are, and where I use Photobucket. As in this post, I can use my iPad to post text, but not images. Is there a chance of making the site support Safari 4.1.3 again?
  23. I have an old iMac that can only use the Safari 4.1.3 browser -- upgrades not possible without spending a lot of money. I can't post anymore on the new site format. Any chance of supporting my browser again? I can post text only from my iPad, but not images that I use frequently for the reference of other members.
  24. Hmm. Then perhaps the new site doesn't support my old Safari browser on iMac any more, unlike everyplace else on the face of the Internet. I can't upgrade without spending a few hundred dollars that I don't have. If you are running 10.6, you are indeed out of luck w/Safari unfortuantly and many sites present and future. No more support or updates from crApple. I'd suggest Chrome or Firefox as they'll run on 10.6 I have 10.4, which still works with most sites. Except here.
  25. Hmm. Then perhaps the new site doesn't support my old Safari browser on iMac any more, unlike everyplace else on the face of the Internet. I can't upgrade without spending a few hundred dollars that I don't have.
