  1. Great job on such a subject. Let's see your Yugo

    Fiat Abarth

Really outstanding. I don't know how you can get such clean results for a teeny car in a small scale.
  3. That has nothing to do with the pont. The taillights are exactly as designed and positioned on a 1949 Buick sedan.
  4. It's weird. I get totally different search results between my iPad and iMac using the same search terms. That's why I removed the Google suggestion from my first post.
  5. I just read in the LA Times of the passing of John Geraghty, a famed hot rod designer in the 50s and 60s, who quit the business to become a well-known curator of western art. He created The Grasshopper, which was ripped off, in general, by Monogram (without credit or compensation) for their Green Hornet kit. It was one of about only three hot rods I ever built. http://www.hotrod.com/news/1506-legendary-grasshopper-builder-john-j-geraghty-passes-away-at-85/
  6. Doesn't get better than that.
  7. Great movie, all-star cast (Rex Harrison, Shirley MacLaine, George C. Scott, Ingrid Bergman, etc), following a Phantom II as it passes through various ownerships beginning in the early 30s.
  8. You can get great model shots if you shoot them on a seamless, monochromatic background. But they'll look more real if you shoot them outside with a believable background (not on a deck rail or picnic table).
  9. I'm pretending it's fiberglass.
  10. The kit is based on Joan Crawford's black car.
  11. What key items would you do differently? Looks like you'll use wire wheels on the Pocher.
  12. But the Morgan Is already a woody (under the sheet metal. ).
  13. For those who are interested in seeing the movie where the car is painted red, it will air this coming Thursday, June 11, on TCM at 6:15 pm Eastern. If you pay attention, you'll see some pretty good clues on painting the interior.
  14. Not much more to be said. Keep your Summer break short so we can see the Pocher version soon.

    1950 Olds

Nice work -- and the metallic flake actually looks in scale.
  16. Very nice in every detail. Great, realistic interior. On the next one, I'd consider replacing the kit glass with Lexan or clear styrene.
  17. I vote for one-piece glass, no preference on rear bumper.
  18. The only suggestion I would make would be to have the rear windows be horizontal sliders rather than roll-down.
  19. Crumpets suck (too mushy for me, at least the ones I've gotten at Fresh Market). Scones are cool and handle fruit toppings better. They're not the same. But both are veddy British, especially at tea time. May also be accompanied by less enjoyable watercress/cucumber finger sandwiches on buttered bread –– at least in the 30's when this car was built, and the sort of fare I experienced in the 60s and 70s in England and at high tea in the then Crown Colony of Hong Kong. In other words, the sort of bland food that made Britain a culinary wasteland before stars like Marco Pierre White, Raymond Blanc and Gordon Ramsay created a revolution that made the country a foodie's paradise. Not to mention the proliferation of superb Indian cuisine, which seems to have taken over the country.
  20. Wow. Nice job with the chain rear door latches. Like an SS 100.
  21. Me. It goes against my grain.
  22. Looking great, especially the Spaz Stix work. Does the hood have chrome latches at the bottom? I'll use those for some other kits.
  23. A particularly interesting if not very gracefully done shooting brake. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2013/02/11/spy-car-for-the-suburbs-aston-martin-db6-shooting-brake-to-cross-the-block/
