  1. I just posted there. I also changed my password from my iMac, but not here on my iPad. No help on my desktop inabilities. It still doesn't work.
  2. I use both an iPad and an iMac desktop. With the new format, I had to sign in individually on both of them. Now, the forum works only with my iPad but not my desktop, where I have no access for entering or posting anything. I assume this is somehow related to different IP addresses.
  3. I am composing this on my iPad, but can't use anything on the forum on my desktop iMac -- can't reply, quote, start a topic, contact, nothing. With the new format, I had to sign in separately on both of them. My desktop is essential for adding Photobucket files.
  4. I would like to insert some images here, but the new format only allows me to use my iPad and not my desktop iMac. In any case, there is an excellent Mercedes 540K tourer boxed by both Italeri and Testors/Italeri Monogram also made a very nice Cord phaeton.
  5. Just a minor quibble. The Stars and Bars make up the design of the first national CSA flag, as shown in Haigwood's avatar. The battle flag is the Southern Cross, taken from the second CSA national flag, and the General Lee flag is the wider Navy Jack version. This has been discussed countless times here. So there. And isn't it time for this subject to go to bed?
  6. Check the rear vertical stabilizer.
  7. I think the upholstery looks terrific as is, especially with your planned color scheme. It should look doubly terrific along with the other seats and door panels. As for the roof interior, will you be doing open work planks as on your 1/16, or something more like tongue and groove?
  8. Looked great in a full gold paint job. I don't think the weathering does anything positive.
  9. . And he made sure everyone felt his pain.
  10. Here's a review from a few years back. As I recall, Harry also built a very nice version. I have the metal body kit, which looks very good but challenging, and I wonder if the windscreen isn't a bit too tall. I would probably opt for the race version as well. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8566
  11. Very nicely done, excellent job on a cultural icon that's been modeled 1/2 a zillion times. The subtle weathering really makes it stand out. I bet that outdoors pictures would make it even more impressive.
  12. As Art said, there's no such thing as a perfect kit. But there's also no comparison to be made between a $22 1/24 plastic kit and a $444 multimedia 1/8 kit like a Pocher ($600 - $1200 is more like it). For the super-detailers, any kit invites a lot of extra work, and subject matter dictates a lot of choices. For me, research into a 1:1 tells me about accuracy and how much I may want to upgrade. Whatever the scale, subject or cost, it's all up to the individual. But I would say that even for the amazing detail of Pocher kits, the larger scale lures a builder to supply the kind of additional detail and "accurizing" that's not practical at smaller scales. Inaccuracies can be pretty glaring in larger scales, and require more work to correct. Therefore, you'll get a similar amount of griping among all types of kits, regardless of the attributes of the basic kit. Pocher builders spend a lot and expect a lot, though they know what shortcomings may await. That doesn't mean they can't complain.
  13. I have no problem on Mac using Safari.
  14. Try WireForm metal mesh from Amaco. Lots of different sizes and patterns, used for everything from sculpting to model train layouts. http://www.amaco.com/shop/product-368-wireform-metal-mesh.html
  15. Ian Fleming was sufficiently vague and, in part incorrect, when he described Bond's Bentleys. While the original Casino Royale car may have been a Birkin-style Bentley as shown above, Bond had probably 3 Bentleys in the books. The following image would be closer to what he described as a battleship gray convertible coupe 2-seater. Note the housing over the blower. Though Bond wrecked the 1930 Bentley he had in Casino Royale (production ceased in 1931 on the Birkin-style racers), he is described as having bought his Bentley new in 1933 (that's why there is some inconsistency in the books). He had the next Bentley rebodied by Mulliner as the 2-seater he preferred. In any case, you could probably make this Bentley using the Monogram Model A convertible Coupe and the Airfix/Revell Birkin Blower Bentley.
  16. Hmmmm...a comment on the Model A kit shown above isn't pertinent? Hmmm.
  17. That Monogram coupe/convertible could probably be bashed with the 1/24 Airfix/Revell Blower Bentley to make the James Bond version from the books. Might take some other sources, too, but the top and fenders are very close.
  18. Unfortunately, yes.
  19. The reading part of my trifocals doesn't cut it for me any more, so I just went to Walgreen's and got a granny-style pair of reading glasses. Works for me.
  20. So, once you make sure everything fits, are you going to have to take it all apart for painting?
  21. Excellent. Don't tell anyone it isn't bronze.
  22. Here's a thought to make you squirm... Will the trunk open to reveal a tool tray?
