  1. It happened just last year to an entire region in our state and no one was too worried.....unless you lived here. A deadly chemical spill just north of Charleston WV polluted the water supply for every town downstream.....Charleston, South Charleston, St Albans, Huntington and all cities between. Zero water to drink or even wash with. But because it was a bunch of hillbilly's not much was said of it. It is horrible to loose water supply.....we know very well.
  2. Thanks Chris!!!! Now I have to find that film!!!! Never seen that....poor Torino....how did they keep it running with that frame damage!!!
  3. Isn't six million and Bionic made by Addar??? Didn't Revell do a Magnum VW bus too???
  4. And, on another ~ but similar ~ note, I saw a sign I really liked. it read, "Of course you should have to pass a drug test to get your welfare check, food stamps, housing subsidy, free child care, free healthcare, free education, free college, and free cell phone. I had to pass a drug test just to have a job to earn all those things for you." I'd fall out of my chair laughing.........but it's to true......
  5. WELL said Skip......better than I can ever.....
  6. GREAT subject matter....but folks complain at the MSRP now of regular kits so a tough sell. I made resin kits at one time. Tough to get folks to PAY for what they say they want. I love the Futureliner but doubt I'd ever have that kind of cash for a kit.
  7. Ummm.....Lots of time on your hands??? Try model building!!!!!! I was using the term 'should be illegal' as in morally illegal......corporations shoving each holiday earlier and earlier does nothing positive but add to their bottom line. Spend the same effort helping those in need rather than pushing 'fall decorations' on the first of June. Tough concepts but you have the time.
  8. My son is a manager for a large drug store chain. They were told to prep for Christmas stuff as soon as school has been in a week.....trying to get a jump on others.....seems they all are doing it.....should be illegal until black Friday!!!
  9. I don't think anyone here is trying to sway anyone else to go to Hobby Lobby or convert your faith or absence of. You don't like Hobby Lobby JUST DON'T GO. We are lucky enough that for the time being we still have the option to do as we please. I know I boycott companies for my own personal reasons......But I don't post them everywhere or shame others because they do not agree with me. Be thankful you can still choose....you could loose that someday.
  10. S&H Torino is full glue kit per Revell.
  11. I like the Abbey NCIS Ford.......but my digging lead me to build this one...... Kept it simple and did not chop the top....coundn't find much info at all anyway. But I like it!
  12. I could not figure out if the Falcon Interceptor was new or the same one.....but there were plenty of Falcon's in Aussieland....so Max could have built another......whatever I'm gonna see it first day....
  13. This build was a parts box build with a Model King body, interior and chassis from a broke up promo and Otaki wheels and tires. Kinda a Clint Eastwood....kinda a FnF Torino. A place holder until we get a 72 GT......
  14. Best build ever of the kit?!?!?!?!? Nice work!!!
  15. Thanks Harry P for understanding my post and saying things in a way I hope most will understand. The HL mess is not about religion but about government taking more and more control over our lives. It not brought under control they WILL come after something you like eventually. Thanks to all for staying somewhat civil.
  16. I went last week. Didn't have any model stuff I needed.......but found some Flat Faux Leather cord in semi-gloss black that looks PERFECT for blower belts! Maybe even seat belts?? There is TONS of stuff usable in model building. Check out the metal jewelry parts.....eye pins and small springs etc....Scale plywood, dowels, glue, paint in the craft dept and always check the close out aisle....got some Testors spray paint for 50 cents! BTW....with coupon the cord was $1.20 for a lifetime supply! (8 yards!!)
  17. Very nice build. I have way too many 1/20, plastic and resin, to build. Funny who 'old' that car looks with wide rear wing and completely different front wheels forward.
  18. Thanks all..... Wheels, tires, seat, oil tank, fire bottle, wiper and air duct all from the Revell IMSA Mustang kit.
  19. Race car.......I kept the project super simple....no putty! Color is Tamiya Brilliant Orange. Thanks!
  20. I like this little kit. It is beyond simple....but a few others have done modified builds....so I thought I would. Only major work was interior....and not that much really vs a full build...... I cut the floor out of the bucket and used sheet stock, rod stock and parts from a Revell IMSA Mustang kit. Also used the wheels and tires from said kit. Wing is from a Japanese wing kit. Kinda a '1970 SCCA Trans Am ' look combined with todays road racers. Wiper and fresh air vent from IMSA kit too. It will get some custom graphics later....for now I'm done.
  21. A TON of work to end up that nice!!!!
  22. Correct......Mike Wolf did negotiate a deal with the railroads. The story is a long one and pretty complicated. Real railroad 'names' had been used for many years......some 100! There had never been licensing fees.....until licensing became a profit center. Then things changed. Long story short.....Wolf and Warren Buffet, now a model railroader, got it worked out. A little different than the car deal.
  23. I have been lucky enough to build a test shot and help with issues in early production. I don't claim to be an expert on the 1/1 truck but there was nothing that stuck out like a sore thumb. I my OPINION the kit is as close as humanly possible 100% correct. I LOOKS great when complete......and I think Sean's great build shows this. As far as fit and finish....... I was able to build much of the chassis without glue....parts fitting so well they friction fit. The 6 cylinder engine, like the Hudson, is a work of art. I'd ask that all the nit picking wait until at least one PRODUCTION kit is in peoples hands. I know the effort behind the kit was 110%. All you can ask.
