  1. RIP Slim...........
  2. Looks like I need to draw up a set for that car!!!!!
  3. If they had put in the turned injectors it would be a HAVE TO BUY........may still......
  4. Me TOO! Kinda wonder if this is the thinking behind the S&H kit.???
  5. Correct....it's a 73. But the 73 used the 72 rear bumper so we have that. Kinda remembered it had a longer WB.....5/32 of an inch I may just try and fake it.
  6. Minilite wheels?!?!?!?!?!?!?
  7. Speaking of conversions and/or different versions Revell could do....... The 'Dudes' Torino.......I always wanted to build this one....but between 4 doors, notch roof and nose too much work to convert a 72......but a 76 ???? Maybe a can do. The rear bumper is same as a 72......
  8. You caught the KOOL factor for sure!!!!
  9. Very nice clean build. I was privileged to do the decal design for that kit. Nice to see one built.
  10. We have a few of those idiots around here.........12 inch diameter chrome stacks blowing tons of black smoke.....then they laugh at me in my Smart car.......which cost new less than their 'stacks' and could run a month on what they waste in a hour......
  11. All true Steve. I am not judging the Torino.....until production kits are in hand it's just talk. But while the vendor in Asia does the work they will only do what the customer requests. I have had the opportunity to do some tooling work through Model King and the old RC2. When we were restoring a older tool sent some vintage parts overseas to be cloned to restore a tool. The tool maker cloned them perfectly down to a ejection pin mark I should have cleaned up before sending!! Good info in.....good product. You know the rest....
  12. Tamiya 1/24 DTM Alfa Romeo 1st gen version.......falls together Moebius 1/25 Hudson Hornet.....same...falls together....
  13. History on the original kit. The kit was announced and single sheet sales info was for the Lennie Pond #54 Chevy. But just as the kit was to be manufactured Pepsi split with Pond....some say due to Pond's lack of winning.....some say because Pepsi didn't pay up. But MPC had a slot to fill and thus the fictitious #39 Pepsi Chevy of 'Noah Body' was born. No correct Pond Pepsi sponsored kit was ever produced but the decals have been a number of times. My Pond Pepsi Chevy using the AMT Chevelle kit Per some folks that have all three kits, original, Model King version and new say the cage is new but the chassis has had some work done too so it's more like the 70's era kit. I got to work on the Model King version and when R2 wanted to reissue the S-3 they contacted us asking what the kit needed....I hope our input made the kit a little better.....but I have yet to get one so I can't say 100%. This is a Model King build of the S-3 kit just reissued....... This is box stock including decals.......
  14. That will be an easy one to check......pull a JoHan kit and digital calipers and go to town....the 72 and 76 door skins are the same.
  15. Thanks for the side by side Gerry........ I'll wait until I have the kit in hand before I say anything negative....but I like it so far. IF, and only if it's proven to be off, IF it's wrong maybe it's a case of too much technology?? I helped out on a few research projects for kits made by Monogram many years ago. The then designer told me a number of times that if he copied the car 100% scale it would look wrong. Scaled down the model often needs a little tweek to make it look right. Many of the kits he did the research and design on are looked at as near perfect even through they contain small areas that are 'wrong' if scaled up.....but these alterations gave it the perfect look. That or we are hyper critical today over yesterday......
  16. First off....thanks to Revell...they put my build on their Facebook page. Neat! Drew up the art and applied decals to my Revell Mustang..... Rear view...... Front...... Coat of claer in a few days.....Thanks
  17. With this kit....yes....it;s a 1 in 1 kit. Be sure there are alternatives in the tool. Looks good to me BTW
  18. DING DING DING.......my favorite unknown Ford Mid size. The guy across the street from me when I was in high school had a LTD II in black with the red stripe. I LOVED that car.....and so few left today.......Revell give us a T-Bird and I'll make a LTD II!!
  19. You are correct......and a few FOX stories on it too. But it affected almost half the states population, heavily concentrated along the Kanawha, but mainline media like NBC and CBS network news almost ignored it. Believe me....I know who bad it is in Toledo right now.......tough time.
