  1. WOW WOW WOW!! You are way past my pay grade!!! Wish you would resin cast that thing.....since my email addy is AMX3.....I MAY like this project!!
  2. Agreed very nice.....I have it and the Modelhaus resin that will become the NASCAR Tucker race car!!!
  3. Dave Burkett is a great guy that I am privileged to work with. An asset to the hobby.
  4. I like this car MORE than I would a BOSS or Mach1.....it's DIFFERENT. When I take my 73 Javelin to a show.....I am almost ALWAYS the only Javelin.....everyone else is a AMX. But it MIGHT be a $15,000 Mustang.......maybe someone is dyslexic?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
  5. As soon as he gets paid for that run!!!!
  6. I had to buy a new Camera......just playing around...but I liked this one.... Thanks for the comments!!!!!
  7. Ever been to the backwoods of the Carolina's???? Thats not rust but red brown Carolina clay that sticks to everything!! I tried to make it look as if it was driven on wet Carolina clay roads and not washed.....at least not yet!!!! Missing headlight and vent windows is one reason I pulled the kit from the stash.....no collector value......so BUILD IT!! If any one has an extra I'll install it.....if not the Govment Men shot it out!! Thanks
  8. I have been in a bit of a slump. Grabbed a 1970's era AMT kit that was minus vent windows and built a kinda moonshiners car. Box stock, Duplicolor Hot Rod Primer rubbed out for a semi gloss. Weathering is chalks and washes of alcohol and chalks. A one day project to get me rolling again. A little red Carolinia clay dust and mud....... Thanks for lookin!!!
  9. It boils down to Restore or Renew........ The recent 36 Ford had tons of restoration work done. I didn't find any flash that would be a surprise on a tool running for FIFTY years now!!! If I have a choice of restored parts and tons of options or a little flash.....I'll take the resto parts and options any day.....I am a modeler.....flash is not going to stop me if I want the subject. Pretty happy of late with all the kit companies.
  10. Was only shown in large cities......my buddy in LA saw it in a theater......I'll watch DVD as we don't get many films as there is no theater in our county!!!
  11. The graphics supply house in Charlotte carried every Letraset sheet made and some other brands. A whole wall of the store was big drawers of transfers. They even did custom work and I had a number of custom runs made.......the good old days.....
  12. Any decent soft, sable etc, brush will work. The biggest factor is hours of practice. Back in the 1960's when I built stock cars there were no decals so I painted all mine. But even after years of doing it....I was never 100% happy. So practice practice practice....no magic secret to it.
  13. Biggest issue I see!!!! Nothing like the sound of internal combustion!!!!
  14. Problem is there is not one correct answer on your kit. JoHan mixed and matched parts on that kit during reissues. It represents a 1971-74 Javelin. BUT.....JoHan ran the kit with a 71-72 body, 73-74 body and coould be mixed with 71-72 tail lights or 73-74 'TV' tail lights. So the only accurate 71-72 kit was made before the body was altered to a 73. (T bar removed from roof etc) After the body was altered to a 73 it was run with 72 tail light panel. The interior is typical 70's era promo style bucket. We get spoiled with current build up interiors with deep side panels....the kit as made is very buildable as long as you know what it is......Any one that doesn't like the kit ....I store them at my house for FREE!!!!! My 1/1 1973 JAVELIN not an AMX......
  15. The exact point I was making......the $70 is high, or low, depending on each individuals taste and wants....and that's OK....but I do not think we need to shutdown a thread because we debate cost in a civil manner. And we've been doing that pretty much!
  16. Kit cost is a real topic that needs to be talked about without name calling etc. As our economy seems to continue to 'shrink' as the experts call it, disposable income 'shrinks' too. Opinion on what your personal comfort level is, is valid.....and manufactures do take this into consideration. Saying the $70 MSRP is too high is not a slam against those who think it's fine. It's their comfort level. We have this debate on the model train forum all the time. New, state of the art, die cast steam locomotives are hitting the $2000-2500 level. Too much for me so I opt out....Love to see other that do not flinch at the cost and share them at meets and shows. But me saying they are too costly for me is not a negative to the kit or potential buyers.....just a fact about me. Keep this in mind when reading 'opinions'.
  17. Long gone....keep hearing someone is doing a new one....but who knows....
  18. Typical current mentality of the world we live in today. Anyone with a single brain cell could figure out a better solution than just crush them. One thing....sell them for $1 to the current holders AFTER a release is signed. Or....how about them being donated to museums with the same release and conditions. OR....sell them as off road vehicles to collectors...again with release of liability. So many solutions it just seems more like the current owner of Chrysler is wanting to wipe the past from it's history and make it much more Fiat like...... Glad I stopped buying Chryslers.......and just removed Journey from my list of cars to look at for our new vehicle.
  19. $70 MSRP??? I'll buy 3 Moebius Hudson's before I buy that.....just too costly for a single kit that isn't a 18 wheeler.....and I've yet to pay that for one of them. Best of luck...maybe they will do something I must have.
  20. How about a Roush Merkur????? These were Mustangs with different bodies. Some raced as 'XR8na' others as 'XR4ti' The model is a Mustang with resin body and aftermarket decals....Klaus Ludwig..
  21. Nice work on one of my favorite models!!! Anyone remember these kits were announced as Monogram 1/24 kits but ended up as Revell 1/25 after the merger??
  22. hmmmmm....where's that vintage Revell 250 GTO I have.....
  23. Owning a 1/1 Matador I can say you nailed it!!!! And an FYI this odd duck is a really great car. Mine has huge sway bars front and rear and the AMC V-8 and big disk brakes makes it fun to drive over some other cars of the era......COOL
