  4. 80's NASCAR too!!!!!
  5. Dragnet had a few episodes based on a declining Bunker Hill.......even covered how many retires lived in the old homes now apartments. I have to look for that book!!!! Thanks
  6. The Nissan, with new wheels, is not bad......but I like movie cars....not a tuner fan.
  7. I'll pass on this one........the Rambler I'll buy!
  8. That's odd........when I did a lot of traveling every HL I went to had a close out section.....in a different place in each store....but every one of them had one. These ran from FLA to ILL and all between.
  9. I'll buy one.....I have a FnF version built......
  10. Build scale models of their local WM????? BTW Atlantis today showed a photo of some tooling on Instagram.....but not what it was....
  11. Waiting for Greenlight to do the Dude's Torino in 1/24.......
  12. They reissued Miami Vice Ferrari years later....And the Revell Grease 48 Ford.......how many years was that?!?!?!?!? But it is probably to obscure to get a kit.....but that's why I like it!
  13. Went last Friday and the kits were very low. They had just done a restock not long ago. Good to see kits selling.
  14. It seems I saw Tamiya may reissue their kit and the limited TS green needed for it. Also Indycals makes a very nice set to use on a number of Porsche racers.....
  15. Online is part of it....but if Charlotte had a good model hobby shop with good selection and prices would you not turn there first? Kinda chicken egg thing. Deb's closed because Larry passed unexpectedly of a heart attack and things changed with me. Deb did not want to carry on. But the biz was doing well. The thing I do not understand is Charlotte is much larger and more money today than in 1990 when it supported so many shops. Brick retail is changing for sure.......but my hobby shop offers good selection and prices.....but what keeps him going in a rather poor, income wise, area is service and he has craft items and hobby items. People still come....even after 2 Hobby Lobby opened within 15 miles of him. Charlotte is about the size of Columbus Ohio and they have 4 GREAT shops that are doing well......along with Hobby Lobby and online. If the reason Charlotte has zero shops was pinned down it could shine a light on many other places. Thx
  16. A little O/T but on the subject of the state of the hobby. Why does such a large region as the Charlotte area not have a hobby shop??? At one time there were a number of good shops. Action, Modelers, Science Hobby, Hobbytown even our shop Deb's Model Cars. Gastonia had 2 shops, Rock Hill hobby shop just closed. Monroe had a shop. The Charlotte region has a much higher than average income with a lot of growth. Just this morning Charlotte was list as one of 4 cities in the USA that are still experiencing big growth. If we could figure out why a region like Charlotte does not support model building we could help the hobby overall.
  17. Moebius is still into automotive kits.........
  18. Side quarter window glass was not permitted in 1981 through.........84 I think?? So your build would be incorrect with 1/4 glass. Google photos and see.
  19. Every Moebius automotive kits has 3 to 4 alternate versions tooled. What's next we'll see.
  20. The other issues Model King Dave has is: Limited space. I've been to his biz.......it is packed. Large scale takes that much more space. Cost/price. Private issue kits were paid up front. A HUGE investment with lots of risk. R2 and Revell no longer allow private issue kits so that is not an issue any longer anyways! Moebius will stay away from large scale automotive kits.
  21. Atlantis newsletter of 8/1/20 said another announcement coming next week......Sounds like Atlantis is ready to become on of the big Dogs.....we\ll see.
  22. You are speaking my language!!!! I grew up in LA 1960 to 1970. I was fascinated with Bunker Hill......it was pretty bad by the 60's but still a lot of the BIG old houses. My buddy;s Dad worked for a construction company that flattened most of the Hill. He HATED his job,,,,,but it paid so well he left and started his own company. He always told us of the buildings he saw. And I am a big Webb fan.....I watch every Dragnet (60's version) on METV daily. He was working on a new Dragnet when while filming Eps 1 he died from the heart attack........I'd love to have seen what he had planned! The Ford ITC kit does not look to bad....I'd buy one today anyway! Thanks
  23. I'll take the Dragnet 1955 Ford 4 door in 1/25......wonder what it was like???
