The kit shows it's age a bit in the fit dept. But I am a AMC guy and was thrilled to get the Gremlin back! I made a few mods that made things fit and look better. I ground off the area's in black. The ejection pin marks and frame rail tops. This allowed the interior to sit lower and thus the body I then added plastic strip to the chassis sides. IIRC they were around 3/16 but check on your own model for exact size. These little mods and small inner fenders on the rear nelped a lot. Thanks

Correct...Shelby version....and the real car did not have any down tubes...so what's in the kit is correct.....for a Shelby.

Love it!!!! As a owner of a 74 coupe I have heard that slogan just a few times!!!! Mine is not the 'Boxy' Matador but the NASCAR coupe..... I'll stay OT now!!!!

I stocked up on these kits back in the day thinking I'd convert them to NASCAR Boxy Fighter Matadors.....Then a resin body came out and I never converted one.....thankfully! I like that concept drawing.....gives me ideas!

I figured you'd turn that Rebel into a Matador!!!!

I'd take a few at $5.........I use them under most of the 70's era builds....god chassis really.....A guy once offered my a large lot of the AMT NASCAR for $1 each....if I took all 300 that day!

I have a Mattel Vac-U-Form........it belongs on the collector display shelf.

That's about the same as I built....I heat the plastic sheet, once mounted to frame, over a hot plate next to the vac base. This way I get the plastic hot and it's as hot as possible when I place it on the vac table. Good luck

I have a few vac form machines. The first one I made. About 6 inch square unit. LOTS of plans on the net....make it for $20-35 works well. I use it about once a year.....the only thing it does well in my opinion is windshields. 'Parts' are to soft in details and hard to trim/fit.

I have never heard or seen these 1/64 kits....look great....but the ones I found for sale were over $25 so I gotta pass.....that's about what the Tamiya 1/20 kits go for on ebay! They are cool but I see them as $15 kits.....Greet idea Koyosho.....price needs fixing

That's pretty much SOP for most retail chains. The industry calls it 'plan o gram'. My son is a manager of a drug store chain. They want each store to look like the others.....AND how each looks is according to a marketing expert's design. So no real surprise each HL looks like the others.

Nothing missing. 1960 to mid 1990 there was no standard colors on NASCAR race cars. Teams may even have different colors of chassis and details. Petty was more consistent color wise as they were the top team money wise of the era. It's pretty easy to google photos online of Petty cars. Most were Petty blue chassis, darker blue suspension. The other details can vary year to year or even race. Drive shaft is white on all cars of that era.....that was a rule. Rear diff was often red oxide, Lots of silver/aluminum. Like I said....google it! good luck

I opened the Big Red Rod and in a way kinda like the GRAY plastic over the chrome. I see a current T style with little chrome so no stripping!!!! Mine did not have decals....any one else??? Not a big deal....but makes me think these were thrown together from parts on hand and they did not want to pay for the chrome plating. Either way glad I picked up one.....my store had 8....that's a good number to sell.

Went to town for groceries........stopped by Oliies......models were wiped out!! One Big Red so I picked it up. No Chevys, 1 48 Ford and plenty of Civil War cannons!!! Who is buying all this stuff....thought we were a dead hobby!
