  1. Not sure they are a $50 kit....mine storee put out 6 of them today.....see if the sit long! Thanks
  2. Want to feel REAL BAD????? A large number of Lionel and MTH O scale die cast model trains are failing to Zinc rot or Zinc pest as it's called. Difference is these are $3,000+ locomotives and there is no fix. MTH shuts down forever next month and Lionel can't replace hundreds of parts. The proeblem with trusting China to make a quality product. (PS I ain't a China hater...I worked with them on some projects....but they have issues with QC at times)
  3. Very clean work!!!!
  4. Do we know ALL of them lack Chrome???
  5. Cool idea!
  6. Thanks for that info!!! Wonder if they are all like that.....kinda makes it a $30 kit to me!
  7. 1/16 scale 30 inches long finished!
  8. There is a thread that details what is out there and prices.....search forum for 'Christmas'...
  9. FYI for those that may want to know..... The Stage model is molded in bright white plastic rather than the rust brown of the last few issues. The instructions are the very poor set that has been in all issues. DETAILED info on how to assemble the trunk, very simple, and almost nothing for things like the chassis!!!! I may need another kit.....or Big Red....
  10. Visited a different Ollies today and found my Stage model. I also picked up a Revell Halo Pelican kit too. The rest of the stuff was the norm....Big Red Rod was tempting........maybe next time.
  11. Jeff, Mine was made by GeoWorld and is pretty different. He stands in a different position and the bones are different. Mine had a photo of the assembled skeleton with numbers showing order of assembly. A 10 year old might have problems!! But I soon found out that each joint had a different shape connection so it was impossible to assemble wrong. My version also has big pegs on it's feet that click into the base w/o any braces. I looked to see if they did any others in this size.....seems the only one.
  12. Great craftsmanship!
  13. Lindberg reissued it a few times over the years. 60's, 70's and 80's.
  14. I understand.......I have a eye appointment coming up that will decide what we are doing. Cataract surgery for sure and something for macular degeneration. Stay positive and hang in there.
  15. I have one Stage kit.....it's a pretty decent kit. I need one for a Stage Fright conversion. I had my son check in Lexington....same stuff most stores had but Lindberg Big Red Rod at $50.
  16. I want a stage kit....hope ours get some!
  17. My store was restocked today. Scooby Do Airplane, more Delta Dart 102, MORE Civil War cannons with new box art, 1/72 scale plane and paint kit. I did pick up 2 Revell 66 Chevy Suburban kits and a 3 foot long model kit of a T-Rex skeleton! Only one Scooby Do van so I grabbed it too.
  18. Now that we have one within 35 minutes...I check more often.....it was 90 minute drive! Each way!
  19. Tooling cut in China is always part owned by the Chinese government. So when WnW went out the Chinese via Meng had the molds already. That was no surprise if you have dealt with China. Check out 'the 100 year marathon' for a look inside......
  20. Anyone have luck stripping Salvinos?? We over at Randy Ayer's NASCAR forum have yet to find a way that works......yes..it's real metal. Good news is Salvinos is offering some kits w/o the chrome....
  21. Any photos of the model rather than the cartoon box art????
  22. Citri-Strip is a good one too........a little more natural if that is important to folks with chemical issues....
