1.
Always use a de-greaser before any further resin modeling . Whestley's I've found to be best also . I think us Model Builders keep Whestley's products in business .

Use sanding procedures as any other form of plastic . It is softer and works faster while sanding / filing . This applies to both imperfections or trim removal for Custom Body work / de- Applications . Primer as usual for your prefered Painting procedure . Paint won't stick to bare resin . Even Interiors and Engine , Chassis and all of the rest . Primer is necessary . I've found it better to primer areas requiring putty work to prime resins first for the long run . BTW , this is why I build models . For the long run . Hope this clears things up . Thanx ..

2. I am glad to see the fine job you did on these . They look right except for the Vinyl Roof is missing
from the 'Bird . You did make it as you would want one . The triangles on the Tulip Panel and the Vinyl
Roof were necessary on the Street Versions (new at the Dealership) to make the roof work on this RR Body . Without the Vinyl covering ; let's just say : " God made only so many perfect heads on men . The rest , he covered with hair ." This build is far superior than what I had in a box for 20+ years . Super
comparison and resurrection . Thanx ..
3. Is not a Jada Toy a 1/24 scale ? I know this is the Monogram 1/24 '53 Chevy with the top wacked . The kits pictured are Revelle 1/25 saqcle . Whadda do you do with the rest ifyou are a Factory Stock Builder . I have pounds of unwanted kits and pieces to trade off as it is now ?? Whadda do you need ? Thanx ..
4. Just contact the nearest US Post Office . Or the US Postmaster General . Perhaps your local Postal would be where to start your course or Money Refunding . If you are not close , a Google Search Online will work . Thanx ..
5. Mat I suggest a wash with Ivory 99.9% pure Dish Soap ? Most of the Dish Soaps today have Lanolin in the
mix . The moisturizer (Lanolin) may cause Fish Ey
6. May I suggest a wash with Ivory 99.9% pure Dish Soap ? Most of the Dish Soaps today have Lanolin in the mix . The moisturizer (Lanolin) may cause Fish Eyes and adhesion problems . Thanx ..
7. R&R Vacuum Craft started out doing this . The '53 Ragtop picture in Chrome Foil ads , the boot is one of Ray's products . I remember this in an old SAE in the day . Making Vacuum formed boots is a skill I have not mastered . The top-up (?) , Help ! If anyone does know how to do this , please I need tips . I have no help to offer . Thanx ..
8. Try Shawn Carpenter , he offers a '61 Conversion . I don't know if sales of separate parts are available through him . <rocketfin.com> , Model Car a the bottom of the page . Alphabetically listed . Thanx ..
9. Me too , I have a glue bomb without a hood and Rear bumper . The Bumper , I can go on with life if I must . Not so the hood . I'm not about the year . It has the V/6 Kaiser Jeep bought from GM . Then fixed the issues caused by the Corporate Bean Counters at the General . It resulted in a reliable Power plant as Originally planned . It is a shame GM had to make it such a POS IMHO . Typical GM thoughtfulness and Modis Opperandi though . Can a Pig change it's eating habits ? This also had the Jungle outfit complete with Guns . "Bang , bang , shoot , shoot" ; to quote the Beatles . A platform seat attached to the front bumper and another in the back . No Back Seat . I could use one of those too . Thanx ..
10. I am not a caster . I will supply these parts if someone will cast these only . Also , someone I have done business with and know . I've been ripped off as we all have . I won't send irreplaceable pieces I have a need of and expect a return unless there is trust . I am trying to fill gaps in my AMC , specifically , Javelin collection . Would you like to trade a Competitiom Dash for the stock unit in this ? I have a Metal Roll Cage . I might have the same in Plastic . PM me on these . PM me also for other AMC Javelin Parts . I know sources . Thanx ..
11. Anyone out there willing to resin cast plain Javelins . Not the Javelin AMX's of days of old . These won't have the AMX Specific Grilles . Without a hood with built in Forced Air at the Hood Edge at the cowl . The dash and interior trim is the same . AMX ; Engine Turned . Javelin ; wood grained is a paint detail issue . No chin spoiler . I am in process of making the Valance panels with proper turn/parking lights in them . Not in the grille as AMX Javelins . The Grilles were different ; '71 - '72 - ('73 & '74 are the same) . The same treatment at the rear on Taillights . The '71 - '72 - ('73 & '74 were the same also) . I am also in process of making the AMX into the (generic) opening for the various grilles . The '72 & '73-'74 Grilles I did figure out . The '71 Grille , not so . I do have the taillight/panels . Modelhaus offers the '73-'74 Rear Tailight panel and lights curerently . I need assistance to finish the grilles and Chin Spoiler and Hood . The Modelhaus offers the hood for the '71-'74's . Anyone know if these are Javelin or Javelin AMX hoods ? I talked to Don , he's not sure . Help is needed for putty work involved in these parts . I do know the wrong putty will stick to the mold Silicon . This is a project I've been workingon long term . I need help with these and a few more details . After the Christmas Season would be a good time to get beck into this Project . Thanx ..
12. What is the addy to see the product list & Pics (?) please . I've been trying for months to connect to evaluate future purchases . Thanx ..
13. Ok , it's yours . I would snipe you . Alas , I'm not financially able to . You can have it ..lol . You are the winner . Thanx ..
14. <rocketfin.com> , scroll down to Model Car Links . All are alphabetically listed . If Star Models is not listed , try Steve Kohler . I reccomend his way of doing Business . I know , redundant . Thanx ..
15. Jacen ; Perfect wheels and caps . Looks like injected . You do nice work . Wham you make these in 1/25 scale , I am in for some . at least two or three sets . If the Dodge is the same (?) make it 5 or 6 sets . Thanx ..
16. The Monogram is a 1/24 scale model . It has the prerequisite Stock Wheel Covers . These could appropriated and be used correctly on the Monogram '53 Vette . The early production Vehicles did not have the proper covers for assembly . The Engine has both stock and Hop-up parts . The tires are absolutely are horrible . I understand you want to build a Stock version . This Bel Air is the only in plastic . A diecaster sold these in Crude Metal Replicas . Again , not stock , in 1/24 . The colors , ones done in correct factory finish , were right . Enough Said ? I have a bagged FS Monogram '53 Bel Air I would be willing to trade off . Pm me if you want it . The Revelle '53 / '54 Kit is a good start for a replica . No stock Stovebolt ?? What's that say for Chevvie Enthusiast , ignoring the famous oil spewing/burning Stovebolts ? A big 'ole blown 409 (W-Block) is the Power for this . No stock wheels . Raised suspension , drop this , and Both correct Grilles . The engine for a '53 is the same as a (in kits) '37 Coupe and Convertible & '41 Chevy Pick-up . The Engine for a '54 is the same as the '60 Chevie Pick up . Resins are available too . The Hub Caps for the '53 are the same as the '57 Full Bel Air Covers . Alas not the knock off Option . Just use the middle , "chrome plate as your finances can stand (AlClad) or your favorite method . remove the rest and raise the middles up as a hubcap with spacers . Probably scratch these .The '54's used something a little different . I'm not sure what these look like . I am looking this up yet . I've done my homwork and have one of each WIP along with others . These are heapie Cheapies back inthe day .No spinners on the Poverty Caps . I hope this helps .. Thanx ..
17. Go to <rocketfin.com> , find Model Car Links at bottom right of the Home Page . Rt. click Model Car Links , all these listings are alphabetical . Calaga lists some 4X4 Axles . I just ordered some Marine (boat) parts this week . Do a resin search at the top of page for suspension or driveline to find more choices . This is an alternative to robbing kits . What do you do with the leftovers ? Probably less expensive to but resin parts rather than a pile of kits for parts . Thanx ..
18. Gram Sharknose , really ! I was happy with these others . Thrilled wuth the Gram ! Thanx ..
19. You have the right place . Resin and Aftermarket *"is were it's at!" *Did I hear this before ?? Thanx ..
20. "I want my Yugo" Thanx ..
21. Did you contact him about this ? I did get his Mountain AMC Engines . I am more than happy . Not only did I get the Stock pieces , also the Speed Equipment too . Anyone want to make a Racing AMC Engine ? I have parts , we can trade . These parts were and are all like injected . Only just not hollow . Thanx ..
22. Frightening ! A Yugo is what I r e a l l y want in resin . ..lol .. Are these casters still in Business ? Thanx ..
23. Let us agree to disagree . The BFG 60 series were the first street tires from the Trans AM Racers in the day . Polyglass Belted and Sticky Tread for longer Tire Life and High Performance I just could not drive (actually my wife) on U.S. Baldies , Blowout Series any longer . Thanx ..
24. I have nothing bad to say about Steve Kohler's servies . Some of his inventory I've been quite unhappy with . He fixed everytime without hesitation . Yet from the same source , the product was perfect . Not Steve's fault , the Vendor for Steve . He fixed the problems .. God Bless him . Thanx Steve ..
25. The '55 Chrysler C300 was a Limited Production Halo Car . It was available with only the same equipment , engines - drivetrain (transmission ; Three on the Tree or Pushbutton Automatic) & three different Differential gear sets , and only three Body colors . These are Red , Black , white . Not the entire Color Pallet available for the lower Chrysler Lineup . Lower in Status , Cost and how many were made and available for sale . I think you would like a conversion for a Lower Line Chrysler Station Wagon . You would have to de-tune the Record Making Hot Mill . As if it has Dual Quads , your build would have only one . This is assuming you are building Factory Stock . A custom , a Phantom C 300 perhaps . Anything else , the Sky is the limit . Thanx ..
