I am confused by this whole conversation . Ok , I know these cars inside and out . A '70 is the last of the first AMC Pony Car Body Cycle . The '71-'74 is the second Body Cycle . I don't know what AMC parts Modelhaus sells as I've not seen a Catalog for awhile now . Q 1) Did you get f;b /g & insert + r;b/tl & lense at Modelhaus for a '70 ? Q 2) Imsanut ; did you locate the r/b/tl & lense to convert the '72 you have to a '71 ? Not a '70 , correct ? If so where ?: Q 3) Rickcap ; What other AMC parts does Modelhaus offer ? Is the Javelin Hood made by them a Javelin '71-'74 Hood or a Javelin AMX hood : A fiberglass - Hood Scoop or a steel ; flat hood . I've asked and they don't know . I use the online parts locator constantly . I don't find AMC parts . Thanx ..

<p>Rodger offered in the first round of American Satco kits ;</p> <p> Nissan Pathfinder ; Mitsubishi (Sport Ute.) ; and one or two more I don't remember . Well done Curbside kits with deeply engraved Chassis . Thanx ..</p> <p> *Edit ; Mitsubishi Montero , Toyota 4 Runner , Nissan Pathfinder , Subaru Impressa Wagon . These are the Oshima Kits .</p> <p> The tires :</p> <p> All of these Entrepreneurial sources dried up in Japan making these tires . They were the source of these small parts , small quantity for the Model Manufacturing in Japan . Sub-contracted by the Large Corps. the in Home Market of Japan . Thanx ..</p>

I have this A-10 Van and a few more . I've never been disappointed with anything Jimmy does .. I did buy recently a Flintstone from Ebay ; Model Empire . I received the Gremlin within two days . As far as quailty , it is good . Not injection quality as is demanded these days . The Gremlin Body needs the windows and some other flash removed . As far as thick ? I don't think so . As I know it won't warp sitting on a shelf as a finished build . I recommend anything he makes . Thanx ..

Hmmm .. I had the right Corporation . Wrong Country , wrong name , wrong year . How can I still consider myself a Motor Head ? lol... I do certainly enjoy this Harry . I am grateful to be able to see and use this category in this site again . I needed Professional Help for the 'Puter (sometimes I think it is a "pooter") . I am on dial up and need a Geek to fix the rest of the issues I created trying to fix it . It being the issues I still have . I made them = I bought a Book to fix it ! Thanx ..

1949,50 Buick Resin body
dimaxion replied to WoodyRDC's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Modelhaus's '49 Buick (2 dr) Sedanette is a complete kit . The resin '50 Buick is a 4 Dr. Sedan , lower line (cheaper , not top dollar) . Quite nice from what I've read at the time . It was a conversion . From way back in time . By the time I had the money to but it , it was gone ... I do have the '49 . I like it and I don't remember building issues . You have a choice of closed or open Hood . I could not source a Buick OHV Straight 8 or a Dynoslush (always shifting) unit . Thanx .. -
I loose again . Thanx Harry . This makes my week . lol ..At least I'm smiling even when I don't know . Thanx ..

Ok , if my memory serves me right : A suicide Frame : is mounting the Front axle with a Non - Factory spring perch in front of the radiator . At the vertical part of the front thus making the frame the support rather than the the cross member . That is instead of the original cross member placed there behind this front rail to support Front Axle / Core . Neatly and appropriately named . A zeed Frame is : looking at a Ford Frame , the cross section is like the letter "C" or a side ways turned U . To beef these up in the day , one welded a section of (not sure of the thickness , matched original) (1/4"?) Flat Stock Bar from an outside edge to the fold on the opposite side where the form changes from Horizontal / Vertical . The cross section profile now resembled a Z , ignoring the extra original Vertical portion . Neatly and appropriately named . A boxed frame is the same procedure welding another section of Flat Stock , boxing up the C or sideways U . making a Box shape . Neatly and appropriately named . Thanx ..

It possible to coat the Keith Marks decals before using these before using them . I did coat Fred Cady's in the day . I have some of Keith's and I did coat them before I used them . That is , after I destroyed some without the coating . "Word of mouth" .. Thanx ..

The name of this build caught my eye . I am totally impressed . It has the Style Stalin had in mind for the Masses . Eye candy and utilitarian . Just right and quite Original . None for me thanks . I do collect oddballs . I have 4 Communist Cars in my Collection . Just not this one . Thanx for sharing this excellent build .

Photo-Etch wire wheels "15 1/24 or 1/25th
dimaxion replied to Austin T's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I did receive the wire wheels from Tom's Model Works . I cannot get to my tires at the moment . I bought the 1/32 for an Antique project (1/25-1/24 1902 Rambler - Kay Sun - Strombecker - Hawk) , and a Scratch built 1901 Olds Curved Dash . The 1/28 scale wheels for a more believable '20's Porter (My Mother the Car) . I'll let you know when I mock these up . Nice wheels , tow different styles in a set . I am not sure these will work for 15" in 1/25th. . Thanx .. -
Although I totally agree with you Steve , this is the problem . The Vehicle Designers have the same claim to their designs and do Copy Rite these . GM is a prime example of exercising these rights . From what I read here ; GM stopped Shawn Carpenter from making old designs they 'own' . This could worsen and I think it is . GM cannot (IMHO) dump less than quality products on Consumers like in the old days . This is reflected in their sales . So , they scramble to make money where they can . Did you ever notice the "Trademark GM , Ford MoCo , Chrysler LLC. ect. on the boxes . This means licensing is being paid for : no effort on their part ? Sound familiar ? These Corporations won't even provide any developmental support as it is reported by Model Car Makers . Just : 'hand me the monies !" . To be fair : Chrysler does open it's archives and Museums for research . Resin Casting , is this a place us Modelers and Resin Casters - Aftermarket Suppliers want regulations ? Exclusive regulation and properity rights ? Followed by more Taxes ? None for me thanks . Some (many) items are here and then gone . Someone else makes them from someone else's work ? Not right indeed ? This has caused much Strife in our small Community . Not fair and un-scrupulos and an act of theft . How would you suggest we as a Community do this without attracting the attention of the 1:! makers . Quite frankly , I don't see another route beside this site and others just like it to keep ourselves honest . I am open to suggestion . I , for one , don't want to see Government and Lawyers regulating this or any Hobby ! Just look at, IMHO what Sewer our Reps and Lawyers have us in today ! Thanx ..

Check for "How to" books and articles at all the Model Car sites to start . They all have publications to help modelers make better more rewarding finished builds . Bill Coulter , is one of these writers . Mark Gustovin makes Customs (one of a kinds) and I think he has something in Print . There are many more to choose from . I don't want to advertise here all the other Magazines . A Google search , or any search Engine would net some results also . If you cannot find any info from these sources or get any more help help here from this thread , PM me . Thanx ..

Borg-Warner T5 in Resin?
dimaxion replied to kalbert's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
T-5's having the internal shift rails and the shifter located at the top directly into the box are Top Loaders . Made to eliminate missed gears while maximizing power ans acceleration such as "Power" or "Speed Shifting" . The T-10 had external linkage . The Factory shifters bound and gears were missed . Then came along George Hurst . To avoid paying his Company for shifters , the Manufactures redesigned to use the obsolete Top Loaders from way back . Just thought you would like to know that . Thanx .. -
'73 Chevrolet Chevelle- Mastered by Tom Ellifritt
dimaxion replied to W-409's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hey peoples ! Achtung ! He is working to complete the resin kit . Asking him to PM just you is slowing down the process . Put yourself in his shoes . Either you make the kit or spend time sending out PM's . I am just as guilty . I am waiting for the 1911 Chevrolet & the '70 AMC Javelin (just for some parts he will sell me) . I've bugged Kevin Twice within the last year for it . He will answer you . I , myself , will look for the News of the release here rather than expecting a PM . Myself and many others . Patience , it's time will come . I'm sure he is anticipating filling our requests for a great kit(s) . Thanx .. -
new addition to the skunk works..
dimaxion replied to jeffb's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I like the Calendar with the AMC ScRambler on it this month . I am glad you did get this to do In-House "Chroming" . Thanx .. -
The price of a resin is yet to be determined . The Female in the background picking her ; nose , teeth , or on a cell phone ... Priceless . ..lol.. Not trying to be insulting just funny as this is my view of the pic . It's funny to me . I have a junk '67 Impala (or could be a '68) body . It is the Custom Version molded Without a back-lite . I have also a junk '70 Olds Toronado Body if someone wants to try a Master for this one . PM me . I would like to trade your junk for mine . Thanx ..

Thank you Harry for your bringing a challenge to my life . I did get many benefits from RoM . Auto ID ? I am placing my Source books by the newly repaired 'puter . This explains my absence . I am ready . Thanx ..

Therapy ? Build a model car . When I was a kid , my parents gave me a kit . I had the attention span of a gnat . No patience and could not sit still . I cannot sit still these days too . I trembled (still do) and shook . My Third Grade Teacher talked to my Mother about the new(ly) diagnosis of Hypertension . I was a textbook example . I got hooked on building Model Cars and found my place in Society . "Try it , you'll like it ." BTW , I am patiently waiting for you to cast one for me . I build replicas of everything that moves in 1/25 ; 1/24 when I am forced to . Thanx ..

Long ago SAE had a "how to" for a conversion of a '65 Olds 88 to a '66 . I am a Factory Stock String Builder Collector . I did not heed advise about sticking to one make . My addiction is from the run of the mill - veterans - odd ball - antique - classic - pre-war , post war , muscle cars - mundane - all decades , all makes & models . Both Foreign or domestic . Popular and unpopular . So , would I buy one of these ? YUP . Will I convert a '65 into a '66 ? Probably ! My addiction is Styrene ! BTW , IMHO ; the Chevy Rallies aren't .... just aren't . Thanx ..

1970 1/2 Camaro - Full front bumper conversion?
dimaxion replied to mopargreg's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Respectfully Decon Resins has me hanging for no return on my dollars . I waited as he asked and gave him time to sort out Family issues including a Death . Many emails since and messages here ; no answer . So , I have made a spot in my AMC's for the '70 Javelin I never got . Empty spot that is with a little tag with his name . Had I known the future ... Thanx .. -
