  1. I made another purchase from a great friend/vendor in London, ON. On top of my purchases, he included some issues of a Japanese race-focused magazine called R'On. It has great colour photography with some Group C content from '89. In the Mini, he included a bonus sprue bag which included the wheels/tires and an engine. He also included a free Tamiya Honda Fit. The Honda Fit was one of the kits my students built when I offered my After School Program. I finally decided to try ordering from AliExpress for the first time. My Dspiae Stepless Circle Cutter arrived today and it took less than three weeks.
  2. Welcome to a great forum. I think you'll like being on here.
  3. Les, this post deserves more than just a like. This is down right awesome. It's like they put the original LeCar on steroids!
  4. Nice score on the Barbatos Rex edition. Apparently they sold out in only about a week. You got the fan cap too. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on it when you get a chance to try it out. I used my GHAD-68 on my recent build and was very happy with the way it performed.
  5. That real Renault was awesome in a quirky kind of way. Excellent power to weight and handling. I kind of knew about that "motorized" Tamiya era, which was also present in their early 1/20th F-1 kits. I guess an insert with a drivers shoulders and head is kind of like what would be found in many early slot cars as well.
  6. I keep thinking about buying this kit, but I wish it had a full interior instead of the truncated one.
  7. Kits arrived today from my favourite Kijiji seller in London, ON. I made a combined order with two friends, Alex and Ken. For my kits, which included the Fujimi Ford GT-40 Mk. II LeMans Winner, a set of Shunko decals was included. I'm leaning towards doing the Ken Miles car. Three extra kits were included, and I will give my friends first choice on a ZOOM meeting tonight.
  8. I placed my order with HobbySearch, and selected Surface shipping (I'm Cheap, I mean frugal LOL) They took 7 1/2 weeks to arrive.
  9. Thanks to Dave Armstrong's impressive build of the Atlantis Yellow Fever, using the Burkholder Brothers decals from Chuck Boerner, I ordered a set for myself.
  10. No need for an apology, in fact I want to extend a thanks to you. I was so impressed with your build that I got in touch with Chuck Boerner and ordered a set of the same decals. They just arrived today. Thanks for your impressive inspiration.
  11. Happy Birthday Carl. Thanks for always being an upbeat and positive contributor to this forum. Hope you have a great celebration today.
  12. On my way to my Group 25 Model Car Club meeting, I stopped at a LHS, Sunward Hobbies. They have recently moved to a new, much improved location. Much more space in the aisles and greatly increased product on the shelves. Yay! While there I picked up the two smallest sizes of Evergreen tube. Back in "simpler" times, there were only two paint lines associated with Mr. Hobby, Mr. Hobby (acrylic) and Mr. Color (lacquer). Now they have introduced two more lines, which appear to both be acrylic, Mr. Hobby Acrysion and Mr. Hobby Aqueous. I have no idea what the difference is. I bought one of each of the Pink 19 to test as an undercoat for a red body colour. If anyone knows the diff, please post.
  13. This is the second Tamiya Mini kit that I have picked up as of late. This is to compensate for the nightmare build that is the recently released Hasegawa kit. LOL I really appreciate most Japanese car kits.
  14. Even though I've been home from ACME for over a week, I'm just getting around to posting this. My event visiting history is chronicled with t-shirts. I am not part of the YouTube model car community, however I met Rick Zinck in the parking lot of the host hotel, and he gave me his shop card and his "trademark" skeleton. I was really excited to see SPLASH Paints listed as a vendor. I picked up his line up of AMT 2021 Bronco colours. I really like the two-part Cyber Orange. Since I only have one kit, looks like I will be getting a couple more. I really like Fujimi Enthusiast kits. This BMW 635 in the Schnitzer livery is really eye catching. Sadly the decals are almost always toast. My purchase had a set of Studio 27 Jagermeister decals included. I bought the Hasegawa Suzuki Jimny because my travelling partner, Peter, had one. This prompted me to get some improved wheels, which is where JPS Customs comes in. Great product and great to deal with. The other wheel/tire sets... I'm addicted. I picked up another can of Revell Spray Chrome and some Novus polishes. The Revell Chrome sells fast here in the Toronto area.
  15. Definitely not the Tamiya kit. Decal to represent the taillights. LOL Aoshima has many versions of the Countach worth considering.
  16. Thanks David, I appreciate your comment\.
  17. I also like Fiat Altereds. You did a great job on this one. Do you remember which kit's rear slicks were used? I just sent an email to Chuck Boerner to order a set of decals for myself.
  18. Thanks Lee. I used two Tamiya TS Pearls, Light Green and White. Thanks David. It sure was an interesting contrast and a good handling one at that. Thanks Garry. I wouldn't mind owning one as well. Especially an original, but only if it came with Minilite Wheels, LOL Thanks Bob. I wanted something different so I went with Copper for the wheels. Thanks Jeff.
  19. Thanks Bob Thank Bill Thanks John Peter, I'm not sure about the first part. Thanks for the second part, and exactamundo on the third part! LOL
  20. I finished this two days before departing for ACME Southern Nationals. Lots of parts were omitted to expedite getting it finished. It's not a 10-footer, it's a 20-footer! LOL
  21. Les, I'm not sure if there is a way. I placed an order with them on October 13, and got an acknowledgement at that time. Four days later, October 17, received another email that my items had shipped. I assume that means they had everything on my order.
