  1. Do my eyes deceive me or has Aoshima actually included wheels with tires in this new version of their SnapCar Series? I built one of the earlier 1/32 R-35 kits....meh.
  2. I hope this might be of some assistance to individuals who live close to Toronto who might still be looking for some Tamiya spray cans. Advance Hobbies (Parkway Mall), which is a small shop that caters to mostly RC, has the pictured amounts still.
  3. Big In Japan... wasn't that an album by Cheap Trick? LOL "Album", my age is showing.
  4. These are purchases from the Group 25 contest, 2024-09-28 The Tamiya AlfaRomeo because it's an awesome kit of an awesome sports car. The Hasegawa Lola T90-50 because I like open wheel race cars. The Atlantis Fireball Dragster to feed the masochist in me! LOL
  5. I realize that the Tamiya McLaren MP-4 series are considerably older than this Meng offering. The detail portrayed in the instruction drawings is more than impressive. In spite of it not being the accepted F-1 scale (1/20 LOL), I will more than likely buy this kit. Since I do not have much in the way of AK paints, I'll do my best to colour match the AK paints listed.
  6. Trevor, this goes contrary to the information that Borgfeldt shared with me.
  7. On what basis do you say that Gaahleri airbrushes are made of cheaper materials? Is this just supposition on your part? Do you own a Gaahleri brush? I own a couple of Gaahleri brushes and also a few H & S brushes. However, I have not sent my Gaahleri off to a metallurgist to confirm the composition of the metals. LOL The Colani is a great brush, but takes some time to get used to due to the trigger activation movement.
  8. Yes, it is called the LP line. At this point it does not encompass all of the TS colours, but am confident that they will keep adding to the range.
  9. Thanks Graham. In the mean time, I'm going to visit a local but little known RC shop to see if they might still have some cans of Tamiya White Primer! LOL
  10. This specific wording from Borgfeldt, I believe might be key: "....a chemical with too high of a concentration... My interpretation is not the chemical itself, but rather the proportion of said chemical to the whole.
  11. Bil, check and see if your local hobby shop or source carries the Mr Hobby line of primers and paints. The Mr Hobby products are really good, especially in the aerosol category.
  12. I just received an email back from Borgfeldt. Borgfeldt Info 12:18 PM (48 minutes ago) Hi Bill, Thank-you for your email. Unfortunately, we have received notice from Environment Canada that some of the paints include a chemical with too high of a concentration to import without a permit. As such we have removed all of the Tamiya Aerosols and some other items from sale. We are working with our suppliers on clarifying SDS across the colours individually and potential formula changes to meet Canadian regulations. We should have more updates soon once we receive the final documents from Environment Canada and news from our suppliers. Meanwhile, the retail stores can still sell any inventory they have but we cannot re-stock them. Customer service
  13. That is a beautiful colour and finish. Did you in fact go ahead with Mr Color 76 and GX 100 Super Clear ? This is outstanding.
  14. The Canadian distributor for Tamiya products is Borgfeldt (Canada) Limited. I was fortunate to have a business relationship with them in the past. I just sent off an inquiry email to them pertaining to this situation. When I receive a reply, I will pass on said information.
  15. Dave, I will keep this in mind at the next NNL East, where Dave Burkett often sells this product at his Model King space.
  16. I'd definitely be in for a Speedster.
  17. I guess we strive to top ourselves on the lack of common sense meter. A little while back our Ontario Provincial Police charged a a woman with assault with a weapon, when she accidentally shot a neighbour with a Nerf-style water gun. But this latest development definitely tops that! LOL
  18. I don't think Tamiya has anything that comes close to 1957 Chevrolet 796 Harbor Blue metallic. I'm not sure about Mr Color, although the Mr Color palette is far broader than Tamiya. Scale Finishes: https://scalefinishes.com/1957Chevrolet.html
  19. I use two trigger style from Gaahleri, the GHAD-68 and the Swallowtail. GHAD-68, 1/4 and 1/2 oz cup sizes, 0.38 and 0.5 mm needle nozzle sets, self-centering, drop in nozzle design, $64.99 Swallowtail, 1/3 and 2/3 oz cup sizes, 0.28, 0.5 and 0.7 mm needle nozzle sets, self-centering, drop in nozzle design, $119.99 I like them both. They have well machined parts. Available at gaahleri.com
  20. Local to me, there is a major contest this Saturday, TORCAN. What do you do before a major contest with a large number of vendors? Check out your favourite Kijiji seller in London, ON, who will also be at TORCAN! So I bought these kits from John yesterday and I received the package in today's mail. The first four were the kits that I purchased. Two other kits of Nissan JDM goodness were included!
  21. Very nice GT-R!
  22. If ever I saw a Bandai Gundam kit in a Canadian Michaels, I would buy it for the pure joy you usually experience in building a Bandai kit.
  23. LHS, Dailey Hobbies, last Saturday and a Michaels today.
  24. I have to extend a thanks to both Ken and Trevor. It has been quite a while since I have checked out a Michaels, mostly due to the decline in the model section. With a 40% coupon, I went for a visit. I was pleasantly surprised to find the new Revell '71 Boss 351 Mustang at $39.99. After taking off 40% and adding back tax, it was $27.11, which is a really good price these days.
  25. Matt, an excellent predicament to face.
