  1. You are a madman when it comes to creativity and speed of builds. Never thought that I would see a Hummer that I liked. This is amazing. I did a double take when I saw it listed Under Glass, as I thought it was just a couple days ago when I saw the start of this in a Workbench thread. Fanatastic model.
  2. I don't know if all of the canards and winglets actually improve the aero. They sure do look cool on the DTM cars. Your model is spectacular. Well done and thanks for sharing.
  3. Love what you did with this. Very original. Thanks for sharing!
  4. I vividly remember seeing a C6R posting of yours and all I could think of was HOLY SMOKE, that is awesome. Great that you are warming up to returning to building/posting!
  5. The one show I like to try to make it to each year is the NNL East. It is about an 8 hour drive from Toronto. I have a great friend that I am fortunate enough to go with. He puts up with the extremely immature personna that seems to overcome me on road trips. We are kind of like frick and frack together. He likes Big Band music, where I like jazz (Pat Metheny). He is rational and I am... well you get the idea. As for my top reasons: 1. Definitely road trip is first. 2. Getting to hang out with Bob Dude and friends again! 3. Cheeseburger Paradise. 4. Empire Diner for an an incredible breakfast to jump start morning of NNL. 5. Longhorn or other steak house, where a whole bunch of crazies get together, after the day's events of the NNL. Oh, I almost forgot, the NNL East. I wish I could afford to go every year, because everything about it makes it one of the most amazing experiences for a model car hobbyist!
  6. Mike, thanks for your excellent pictures of the CKM NNL. Looks like some awesome entries on the tables!
  7. What a great way to pass the evening... looking at excellent quality pictures, of excellent entries, in I am sure was a fantastic NNL. Many thanks for posting!
  8. I like the subject matter. Basically the painting appears okay, but it is kind of hard to tell. Is there any way to get some additional shots that are a bit more in focus. Nice to see you posting here. Bill Eh?
  9. Fiirst off, welcome aboard Moray. This is a great place to hangout! Is the colour you are looking for "AMG Imola Gray Metallic"? It is shown on this link: http://www.automotivetouchup.com/choosecolor/choosecolor.aspx?year=2011&make=Mercedes-Benz&model=SLS%20Class The following link is a reference page for matching Tamiya, Humbrol, Revell, and Vallejo paint colors: http://scale-models.nl/cc-search.aspx Looking at the Revell colors, it looks like the color, Iron 32191, might be in the ball park. It is a metallic as well. I did not look at the other paint charts. You might see something else from Tamiya, Humbrol, or Vallejo that is a better match. Good luck with your Mercedes SLS. Cheers Bill Eh?
  10. Eric, another outstanding build. Just finished looking at your C6R. This Mercedes couldn't be any cleaner. A question, if you don't mind. Do you decant Tamiya sprays and airbrush them when you paint? I can't get that kind of result straight from the can. LOL.Great work!
  11. Beautiful build. Paint and decals are excellent. Your carbon fibre work under the hood is outstanding. Congratulations on a wonderful build. Really like the fact that Ron Fellows is one of the names above the door!
  12. This is over-the-top crazy in the best kind of way! I'm diggin' it.
  13. Congratulations to Finland for a great victory. That is one of the slickest puck handling moves that i have ever seen!
  14. Patrick it looks like you have a cool tri color fade going on here. A couple of more pics might help. Good work on the homemade side dump exhaust. I'm liking what I see so far.
  15. A beautiful, clean build. I'm really liking this one!
  16. That means they will probably start showing up on eBay at a minimum of double triple the price
  17. That's definitely a kit that is worth a happy dance!
  18. Kijiji is a buy/sell online marketplace. I believe it is run by the same fine folks behind eBay. It is a cash only setup. People advertise what they want to sell. You respond and arrange a time and place for the in person sale. I usually check it out once a day. Still deciding on which kits will be keepers!
  19. Thanks for the feedback on the kits guys. Seeings how my daily driver is an '85 Caravelle, albeit a rust bucket, maybe I'm destined to become a Mopar guy!
  20. I have to confess that I don't know a lot about Mopars. Mostly being from a Ford family. However, I saw the following in a local Kijiji ad and couldn't pass them up. I paid about $7.85 per kit, all except one still in the shrink wrap. Did I do okay at that amount paid for each? Here are the kits:
  21. Looks like 1990 something on the NNL sheet under the model. Definitely a very cool salt flats style racer. I don't think the prototypes in the background have cigarette advertising. They are two Tamiya kits, the Tom's kit and the Minolta 88 CV I think.
  22. As far as Canadians not being able to enter, it has nothing to do with Revell, Stacey David or Gearz. It has everything to do with our Provincial governments and their multiple levels of bureaucracy. That is what precludes us from participating in this contest. On a more positive note, I love watching Gearz on Saturday morning as I brew the morning's first coffee!
  23. Excellent tutorial, with easy to follow steps. Thanks for posting.
  24. Flawless paint and a beautiful shade of blue. The carbon fibre treatment under the hood and on the interior accents really adds to the impact. Very nicely done!!
  25. Mark, thanks for all the updates on this project. I was just looking at the front and rear suspension sub-assemblies and wondered why you painted the edges of the brake disks red. Excellent work. Your excellent freehand painting of details is something I aspire to.
