  1. I have often had this kit in my hand at a lhs, but have put it back on the shelf. The excellent quality of your build has convinced me to buy the kit the next time I see it.
  2. The interior is so amazing that it looks ready to hop into and take a drive. I really like the look of the single bar across the back as an anchor for the seat belts, instead of a full roll cage.
  3. Mitchell, everything that I have seen you post is an "A-plus offering". I'm sure this will be of the same quality.
  4. Andre, I should have taken advantage of the outdoor painting weather as well. Another Porsche off to a great start.
  5. Great added detail work. I have this kit as well, so I am happily following your progress.
  6. Definitely go for it Charlie.
  7. 32 of the Revell Ferrari 458 Italia kit. Didn't actually take delivery, but paid for them. They are supposed to arrive next weekend, however, I will be in heaven at the Wayne PAL. Can't wait to be on the road this coming Friday. This will be the kit that I will do with my grade 5 class, starting near the end of May / beginning of June. Last year's '32 Ford 3-window coupe was a huge success!
  8. Well said Howard. It is all about the enjoyment, in what ever form that takes. Scale? They are all good ... 1/12, 1/20, 1/24, 1/25 for cars, and 1/32, 1/48, 1/72 for aircraft. Earnings figure might just be a wee bit inflated.
  9. First thing that came to my mind was "Cool Hand Luke".
  10. Thank you for your reply. I have visited the Harder and Steenbeck website a couple of times. All of their products appear to be of amazing quality. We only have one Harder and Steenbeck distributor/seller in Canada. I will get in touch with them. I will also try your airbrushing technique on the 458 Italia that I have just started. Canada is a no-mans-land for paint. We cannot get Scale Finishes here either, as they no longer ship by surface mail. I guess that I will just have to continue decanting Tamiya spray cans. LOL I really enjoy your Youtube channel. Again many thanks.
  11. Tom, I am curious about a couple of things, after watching your video on priming and painting the chassis plate. The airbrush that you are using appears to be a Harder and Steenbeck model. If so, which model / nozzle size, and what do you think of it? The other question is in regards to your airbrushing technique. It looks like you rapidly go on and off the paint with your finger quickly moving forward and back. Did you develop this method? Is there an advantage to this rather than a constant pull back on the trigger? I am always on the the lookout for new airbrushing techniques. I watched your video on painting the dark green '32 Ford. Superb! I wish we could get Zero Paints here in Canada. Thanks in advance. And, sorry for all the questions.
  12. JC, would that be a picture taken at the old Nurburg Ring? F1 cars in the guise of WRC cars. Can't imagine the punishment on both driver and car. Will be tuned in this weekend. Now that Webber is gone, no reason to cheer for RBR.
  13. I'm sure that any Badger, Paasche, or Iwata owner will tell you that you get what you pay for. Things to consider ... warranty, service, parts availability ...
  14. Daryl, here's the information on Sunward: Sunward Hobbies 2700 Dufferin Street, Unit #51 (Just north of Eglinton Ave.) I have heard good things about it. Have not been there yet as Wheels and Wings Hobbies and Hornet Hobbies are my two LHSs.
  15. Welcome back to the hobby. It is one of the greatest things that you can do for yourself. Find some local contest/swap meets, and you will really be able to load up on after market goodies.
  16. Geoff, accidently/on purpose bought a second one of that same kit. Price from a friend was too good to pass up on! LOL
  17. Cool article Jonathan. I need to get that kit (badly)! Here in Toronto, LHS that are well stocked with Aoshima kits, are few and far between. I do a lot of eBay business and have a HLJ account. Now I just need to start using it. LOL I'll never catch up to your FR-S 86 accumulation!
  18. Len, Gorilla Glue is not the same. Would not recommend it for models. I have used it, and it expands as it cures.
  19. This is a quote from Wrecked Exotics web site: "Car: Lamborghini Aventador, 2 Gallardos Description: 5 Lamborghinis from Singapore were travelling together in Malaysia as part of a charity event. A local driver swerved into one of the Lamborghinis, causing it to crash into the guardrail. 2 other Lamborghinis were not able to avoid the accident, and all three were eventually engulfed in flames and completely destroyed.
  20. Richard's thoughts are well expressed. To me, they show that he has a lot of common sense.
  21. Bill, I too was a kid. I had completed the Gemini capsule, detail painted it and all. Thought that it looked good sitting on top of the lampshade of my desk lamp. The heatshield could not hold up to the heat given off by the bulb and the bottom melted out. : (
  22. Darren, just to let you know that this topic has been recently locked. Not because it is off-topic, but because it has been posted numerous times lately.
  23. The original Monogram Sizzler, but even more so ... Wheelstander wasn't even part of my vocabulary yet ... cool was!
  24. I have to go along with Casey on any of the Gofer Racing sets. Also, the Dr. Cranky's sets are colourful, interesting and well printed. The decals for the Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1 are well done and make for an amazing livery.
